Soros Dumps Millions to Turn Texas Democrat

George Soros, the billionaire known for using his wealth to push liberal causes, is pouring millions into Texas in a new attempt to flip the state blue. Backed by his fortune, Democrats have launched a project called “Blue Texas” to flood the state with cash, volunteers, and political messaging. Critics say this is another example of Soros using his money to try to buy influence and force Texas to abandon its long Republican history.

What Soros and the Democrats Are Doing

Soros is funding the Texas Majority PAC, a group created to push Democratic candidates and policies in Texas. Records show he gave $2.1 million to this PAC in 2024 and another $1 million in April. The Texas Majority PAC has teamed up with the Texas Democratic Party and county-level party offices to launch Blue Texas. This initiative wants to recruit tens of thousands of volunteers, sign up candidates to run for office, and flood the state with Democratic messaging.

“We’re combining deep experience, local leadership, and significant statewide investment to meet this moment,” said Katherine Fischer, deputy executive director of the Texas Majority PAC. But what she calls “investment,” many see as Soros using his billions to sway Texas politics in his favor.

Soros-backed groups spent about $35 million in Texas during the 2024 elections, and they plan to exceed that this time around. The project’s first step is a series of rallies in major counties like Harris, Dallas, and Travis, and in July they plan to roll out a “Turn Texas Blue” tour to more than 24 cities. These plans show just how much money Soros is willing to use to try to flip Texas.

The Races Soros’s Money Could Influence

At the top of the Democrats’ list is the 2026 Senate race. Republican Sen. John Cornyn, who has been in office since 2002, faces a challenge from Attorney General Ken Paxton in the Republican primary. Paxton, a Trump ally who has survived impeachment efforts, is seen as a tough candidate. Democrats believe Paxton’s controversial reputation could give them an opening to flip the seat if he beats Cornyn in the primary.

Former Rep. Colin Allred, a Democrat who lost to Sen. Ted Cruz in 2024 by more than eight percentage points, is considering a run for this seat. Early polls show that Paxton leads Cornyn in the Republican primary, but that Allred might be able to make it competitive if he gets the chance.

The Long Republican History in Texas

Texas has been a Republican stronghold for decades. The last time a Democrat won statewide was in 1994. President Trump carried Texas in the 2024 election by almost 14 percentage points, his biggest win anywhere in the country. Democrats thought the state’s growing Hispanic population would help them, but those voters have been moving away from Democrats in recent years.

“The growth in the state’s Hispanic population during the past two decades has raised hopes among Democrats, but those demographic shifts have done little to change the balance of power,” The Wall Street Journal reported. Democrats are still reeling from the 2024 results, which saw Republican victories up and down the ballot.

The Democrats pushing the Blue Texas plan claim it’s the only way to make Texas competitive. “There is no choice for Texas or for anyone else in the country who wants to see a Democrat in the White House after 2032 but to find a pathway through Texas,” Fischer said. They argue that if they don’t invest now, Republicans will continue to dominate.

Supporters also say that the country’s future depends on flipping states like Texas. Fischer said, “With Trump back in the White House and Ken Paxton dragging down the GOP ticket, we have a massive opportunity to win in 2026.”

Critics of this effort see it as another power grab by George Soros. They argue that Soros is an outsider trying to use his money to manipulate voters and override the will of Texans. The millions of dollars he’s sending to Texas are viewed as an attempt to buy political loyalty and force the state to accept policies that don’t fit its conservative values.

Many Texans are also skeptical about whether this push will work at all. Past Democratic efforts like Battleground Texas have failed to make much difference. Despite heavy spending and flashy campaigns, Republicans have only grown stronger in Texas over the last decade.

The long-term goal for Soros’s Blue Texas project is to make Texas a true battleground by 2032, when the next round of redistricting will give the state even more electoral votes. Democrats know they face an uphill battle. Past attempts, like Battleground Texas, have failed to dent the Republican advantage.

Still, the money pouring in from Soros means this will be a key political fight in the 2026 midterms and beyond. With Soros bankrolling the effort, Democrats hope to chip away at Republican control. But for many Texans, this is not just a political fight, it is a battle to stop a billionaire from buying their state’s future.

And that man is Elon Musk for $270M, but let’s face it, he gets paid in contracts. Wanna bet ev credit comes back…..
And that man is Timothy Melon (76 million)
And that man is Linda McMahon (16 million, but she got a job worth a million over Trump’s term)
And that man is about 100 billionaires giving big bucks to Trump, paying for JD’s Senate election from out of state no less.

You have been bought and sold and yet you still get pissy over Soros. Your cabinet bought it’s way in and has a net worth of 14 billion bucks. Over all, Trump administration billionaires telling you what to do, making your laws, your taxes, your tariffs are worth over 450 billion in net assets. That’s more than the GDP of over 200 countries is calling the shots in your government.

And you worry about Soros making a stab at Texas?

You are idiots if you think the issue here is Soros, or even any party or ideology. WAKE UP! Show me the money, follow the money. This is all about money and not politics. Your SCOTUS Citizen United decision opened the door and you bitching about Soros will not close it. Trump promised to toss the lobbyists, he did not. And now he added a billionaire army to tell him and us what to do and how to do it. Tis not the people’s House anymore, it’s Musk’s, Theil’s, and the rest of the billionaires pulling your leaders strings. Don’t worry about Soros. Worry about Musk and the rest of them with their fingers in your pockets.
