The Democrat Party Has Become Anti-Jewish … Period
It is not a matter of nuance. The modern Democrat Party has become hostile to Israel – and Jews in general. Its most successful leaders, candidates and influencers have tapped into grassroots antisemitism as a source of political power.
For generations, Democrats have treated American Jews the way a bartender treated a customer who always picks up the tab. They saw Jewish loyalty as a lifetime contract. That contract is now being shredded in public — and anyone still pretending otherwise is either asleep or part of the problem.
Jewish Americans have voted Democratic by landslide margins since Franklin Roosevelt. That habit has been weakening, however. Trump improved his Jewish share in 2024 compared with 2020. Orthodox communities have moved further to the right. Party identification among Jews has slipped.
The latest midterm polls still show a Democratic majority, and party operatives wave those numbers like a get-out-of-jail card. They miss the point. A coalition that once delivered 70-plus percent now lives on residual habit, older voters, and the stubborn fiction that yesterday’s party still exists. The exodus of Jews from the Democrat Party is not a rounding error. It is a verdict.
Providence offered the latest eviction notice. Mayor Brett Smiley converted to Judaism while in office, spoke against antisemitism, chaired an advisory council for the Combat Antisemitism Movement, and opposed a municipal anti-Israel divestment scheme. His reward was a Democratic primary loss to David Morales, an anti-Israel Bernie Sanders-backed democratic socialist who treated Smiley’s Israel trip and antisemitism work as character defects. Campaign signs were defaced with Hitler mustaches and devil horns. Protesters appeared at the mayor’s house chanting that he had killed babies. In a deep-blue city, the party preferred the candidate who treated Jewish safety as an inconvenient sideshow. The writing on the wall could not be clearer.
The party’s Israel problem is no longer a fringe tantrum. In July, 103 House Democrats voted to strip all aid to Israel. That is not the Squad doing performance art. That is nearly half the caucus, including members who once treated AIPAC checks as political oxygen. New York primaries produced a new crop of House nominees whose campaigns treated insufficient hostility to Israel as a firing offense. Zohran Mamdani’s city hall is the brand. The candidates he boosted made Gaza the litmus test and won. A party that once argued over how firmly to stand with Israel now argues over how loudly to denounce it.
Culture followed politics with the usual lag and the usual hypocrisy. The Metropolitan Museum planned to honor John Galliano at the Met Gala, a designer convicted in France of antisemitic hate speech, the man who told bar patrons their families should have been gassed and announced that he loved Hitler. Only after Jewish leaders raised hell did the exhibition collapse.
The tell was not the cancelation. The tell was the fact that they thought the honor was justified. The antisemitism cannot be erased by the cancellation. Elite institutions do not accidentally schedule Holocaust Remembrance Day adjacent to a celebration of a man who revels in Nazi romanticism and Holocaust nostalgia.
Campuses remain the finishing school. Encampments receded after administrators finally remembered they had rules. But the campus culture did not. Large numbers of Jewish students still hide symbols of their faith, avoid certain classrooms, suffer harassment and report being told they must personally answer for a foreign government.
When nearly half of surveyed non-Jewish students report witnessing anti-Jewish behavior, the problem is not a handful of idiots with bullhorns. It is a cultural climate endorsed by school administrations by lack of opposition.
The growing antisemitism on the left has resulted in a dramatic increase in violence against Jews and Jewish institutions. Synagogues have been rammed, firebombed, vandalized, and invaded during services. In August a man stormed Central Synagogue in Manhattan, smashed ritual objects, struck a congregant, and spat racial slurs at a guard. Other attacks have mixed “Free Palestine” with knives, trucks, and Molotov cocktails. The ADL still records assault numbers near all-time highs even after anti-Israel campus protests were curtailed. Left-wing perpetrators are no longer a theoretical category. They are found in police charging documents.
Antisemitism does not arrive in one costume. Political left-wingers now dress in keffiyeh chic. Conspiracy talk about Jewish money and media sits comfortably beside “Zionist occupier” rhetoric that treats every synagogue as a foreign outpost. Holocaust inversion — Israel as the new Nazis — is the new campus liturgy. Dual-loyalty smears are recycled as foreign-policy sophistication. The Democrat party’s rising stars embrace these tropes as a matter of doctrine.
Hasan Piker supplies the soundtrack for the young. He has said he would vote for Hamas over Israel, shrugged at October 7 atrocities, and built a following large enough that Democratic candidates pose with him for turnout. Ritchie Torres called him a poster child for post-October 7 antisemitism. Gavin Newsom, sniffing 2028, said he would appear on Piker’s stream anyway. Influence is measured by who needs the audience more than the audience needs them. Piker does not need the Democratic Party. Parts of the party have decided they need him.
Newsom’s larger project is to call the socialist takeover healthy. He says the party should be in the “addition, not subtraction” business. He finds DSA positions on health care and energy “pretty aligned” with the mainstream. Translation: the energy is on the left, primaries are low-turnout, and a presidential hopeful would rather ride the wave than explain why a Jewish mayor got primaried for noticing Jew-hatred. Democrat candidates now treat Jewish issues as fair game and Israel as a colonial stain.
Some Democrats object. John Fetterman calls the new wing outrageous. As a result, he is booted out of the Democrat’s ‘big tent”. Tom Suozzi and a cluster of House moderates issued a “we are capitalist, not socialist” letter. James Carville talks schism. A handful of Democrats even voted with Republicans to condemn socialism and the DSA.
Jewish Americans are not required to remain in a coalition that treats their safety as negotiable and their ancestral state as a moral contaminant. Voting Democratic in 2026 is not a vote for the memory of Scoop Jackson or the ghost of Hubert Humphrey. It is a vote for the leadership that platforms the Pikers, the Mamdanis, and the Moraleses, shrugs at campus intimidation, and calculates that Jewish loyalty is cheaper than confronting the increasingly radical base.
Jews who vote for today’s Democrats and supporting the party hellbent on their destruction … period.
So, there ‘tis.

So the big tent party are hypocrites. Do tell.
Welcome back Larry, glad you seem OK. Joe forget to pay his internet bill? Jim, big tent, big pole, eh? Heh, heh.
Larry’s lead: “It is not a matter of nuance. The modern Democrat Party has become hostile to Israel – and Jews in general. Its most successful leaders, candidates and influencers have tapped into grassroots antisemitism as a source of political power” is BUSTED. He can no more get inside the heads of Israelis or Jews any more than he can get inside the heads of Democrats.
Lately he has mused how Latinos, Blacks, and now Jews, are leaving the minority hating, shunning, and even enslaving Democratic Party making us look like Republicans, the only thing Larry knows. Old white men and young vanilla goosestepping toady sundaes with token minority sprinkles on top. I am pretty sure what you pealed off in the 2024 will vote our way in the mid-term. Plus a bunch of Republicans who see Trump’s lies.
Larry, your ability not to recognize nuance in your win/lose, black and white binary world is your legendary focus second only to your inability to compromise on almost anything. You refuse to be able to tell the difference between church and state, so sad.
Your examples of your faith include a mayor from Providence Rhode Island. Anyone know where Rhode Island is? Then the fact a lot of Democrats voted no on aid to Israel. Yeah, Larry, we don’t like dropping bombs stamped Made in USA on the defenseless in Gaza. You are inhuman in that regard. Enough we say. We are bored of your Board of Peace lies. Next you tout candidates in NY endorsed by Mamdani; oh my, NY is leading the charge. Trump likes him, what’s your problem? Then you jump shift to the Metropolitan Museum in a non-factual non-sequitur leaning on your prejudice that museums are elitist and therefore lean left. Yes, Virgina, art is liberal…. You treat your readers as idiots.
“Elite institutions do not accidentally schedule Holocaust Remembrance Day adjacent to a celebration of a man who revels in Nazi romanticism and Holocaust nostalgia” says the guy whose team scheduled cage fighting for the nation’s 250th.
Larry then strokes his reader’s blind prejudices by looking at college unrest, must be liberal, museum errors, must be elites, and civic unrest where he touts Larry Montes, yes, a Larry Jew hater. Coincidence or correlation? He’s a conservative, not a Democrat, fyi. Larry does not care because he thinks his readers are biased, prejudiced, idiots.
And then he drops the garbage with a litany of inconsequential people, names, and acts. Let’s go to the tape.
According to the Israeli Democracy Institute, recent public opinion polls show that between 48% and 64% of Israelis express negative views or preferences against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, depending on the specific question asked. About 65% of Israelis believe Netanyahu should take personal responsibility for the security failures of October 7 and resign.
The Times of Israel found that 61% of American Jewish voters hold an unfavorable view of Netanyahu, while 34% view him favorably. A PEW study found that 56% of Jewish Americans have little or no confidence in Netanyahu regarding world affairs.
I have lived, loved, worked with and for Jews; I have seen the tats received during WWII. I have gone to Seder, attended high holy days, weddings, and been to more mitzvah’s than many a Rabbi. I have seen righteous and racist Jews too. Larry is wrong: there is nuance between the Jewish religion and Israel’s state actions. Actions speak louder than words. Almost every day, bombs are still dropping on Gaza. They are stamped: Made in USA. They kill too many innocents with impunity. There are war crimes. It is geocide aimed at wiping Gaza from the Earth. Many Democrats, and I am one of them, now stand against using our tax dollars to continue to drop our bombs on GAZA, Lebanon, whatever, just to culminate in yet another Israeli land grab. Larry stands for something else. He got led by the nose by Netanyahoo into Iran and he likes it.
We also stand against racism and antisemitism. Any American, Democrat, Republican, whatever, who voices antisemitism should not be elected to office. PERIOD. But we see it as our patriotic duty to stand against the current actions of Israel. Enough.
Back to the tape. There are 4 Jewish Republican representatives in the Congress, all in the House. There are no Jewish Republican Senators. There are 29 Jewish Democrats in the House and 9 in the Senate. That’s 39 to 4 where you have the plurality but do not elect Jews very often. Plus, we always have Bernie. Actions speak louder than words and team Larry does not elect Jews into office. PERIOD. As to antisemitic acts, the answer is not Larry’s one-sided, jaded, view. There are more conservative acts against Jews than liberal acts. PERIOD.
I made Linda Lovelace gag. Oh right. You’re referring to a tent pole. Good to hear from you again Frank.
Jim, perhaps tou should have showered first.
