Are Democrats really gearing up to impeach Trump … AGAIN?
Some of the fringe Democrats are already talking impeachment again. It is being advanced through a grassroots program called “Operation Anti-King.” Congressman Al Green (D-TX) and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN) have already endorsed the plan.
No surprise there. Green has been “Mr. Impeachment” since 2016. He actually introduced articles of impeachment the day after Trump’s first inauguration. You will also remember Green as the fellow who yelled and waved a cane at Trump at the beginning of his Report to Congress Speech.
Omar is one of the most radical left-wingers in Congress. But she and Green are not alone. Other Democrats endorsing Operation Anti-King include Representatives Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR), Maxine Dexter (D-OR), Sam Liccardo (D-CA), Maxine Waters (D-CA), Shri Thanedar (D-MI), and Hank Johnson (D-GA).
The impeachment movement is based on the Democrats’ major narrative that Trump is a threat to the American Democracy – a wannabe dictator who will not step down in 2028. They have been laying that one on very thick since 2020—and especially during the closing months of the 20224 campaigns. We know how that worked out for them.
In view of failing to convince a large segment – a majority – of the American voters that Trump will end American democracy and set himself up as a dictator king, one wonders why Democrats keep hammering on that narrative.
Dexter says she is in favor of impeachment because Trump is “cruel, chaotic, and (his) unlawful actions have put our democracy at risk.” She added, “I refuse to watch as our democracy is undermined.”
Bonamici says that Trump “is violating the constitutional rights of people in this country and ignoring the rule of law.”
By all measures, there is no chance of impeaching Trump for the next couple of years – and virtually no chance of having the Senate remove him from office at any time. If Democrats are successful in taking control of the House, you can rest assured that there will be serious efforts to impeach Trump again … and again … and again. There will most certainly be impeachment inquiries and hearings – political dog and pony shows that they believe will hurt Trump politically.
Of course, they know that the Senate will not remove him – even a Democrat controlled Senate. It is an exercise in political chicanery and a total abuse of the impeachment process — but that does not matter to Democrats. They see impeachment as a means of blunting Trump’s power and besmirching his reputation. It was THE number one issue that Democrats used in the recent campaign – and Trump came the winner and stronger than ever.
Neither the “end of democracy narrative” nor the two previous impeachments have stopped Trump from winning an impressive victory over his obsessed and crazed political adversaries. Democrats have become the colloquial definition of insanity – doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Their insanity has another name -– Trump Derangement Syndrome.
So, there ‘tis.
His win was not that impressive. He believes others like Larry will jump on his impressive mandate producing numbers bandwagon and sing “Happy days are here again”. When he repeats his theory over and over it will become true. That strategy worked for him with the gullible Wendell got his hyped up emotional appeal.
The math does not work out for Democrats in the house before senators can get their licks in.
Their only hope is that enough disenchanted Republicans come on board for a super majority vote.
Due to fear of reprisal from Trump and voters if they fail to impeach and remove, the party of Trump will not join Democrats. Give it another year of Trump nonsense. We may be having a much different ballgame
Come 2026 there may be a numbers turnover in favor of Democrats but not super majority solid.
Trump is high on this most recent win of his, The balance of power is going to clip his tail feathers. Even his SCOTUS will see through his vanity and find he is hollow inside, all furry without substance.
He can’t hold his administration staffer’s ultimate loyalty. His transaction cost keeps inflating until nothing is left of them except their soil. Even for the most determined Trumpers there is that bridge that is too far
Trump allow them the satisfaction that comes with resigning. Trump will turn the table to his favor. He will fire them, but not really him in person will fire face to face. Triump has some staffer subordinate do the wet work and he will credit himself and spin a news flash about h that individual’s incompetence
A year after the date if some reporter would mention the persons name, Trump will disavow ever meeting that person and surely he never knew them.
Trump’s personal integrity knows no equal, just hear him brag. ” no other president has done as much for …. You fill in who or what received an uplift at Trump’s behests. If so believe that there were strings attached to the transaction.
Larry, comments have fallen off markedly since Trump’s 100 days in office began. It’s been like a sailor with a pocket full of cash who is on shore leave after 4 years at sea. He does not have his land legs under him
He is that ridiculous and out there in his own world so every move he makes is inscrutable. There is nothing new it just another iteration of lies and illegality.
