Rick Perry Runs Again
Former Texas Governor Rick Perry has announced that he is officially running for president in 2016. He made the announcement in a video posted on his website this morning, featuring him among groups of Americans. Some are doubtful that Perry has much of a chance- his run during the last election cycle did not end well after a series of gaffes. Perry, however, seems confident in his abilities to win America over this year.
With his announcement, the number of candidates in the Republican Primary reaches double-digits. All of the candidates has a lot of competition, a lot of very good, talented competition to get through.
Perry said in his video that we need a president who can bring new life to “this American Dream again,” and he believes that someone might be him.
The official launch of his presidential campaign is scheduled to take place later today in a Dallas airport hangar. His announcement may be met with mixed responses from Texans. Near the end of his reign as governor, he was indicted for abusing the powers of his office which may have left some conservatives with a distaste for him.
