Media Overlooks Indictment of High-profile Democratic Texas Representative
Amidst the ongoing unrest on college campuses, the crisis in the Middle East, and the circus that is Trump’s Stormy Daniels trial, the lamestream media has all but ignored the indictment of Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar from Texas.
Cueller was indicted on May 12 by the Department of Justice in Houston. He says he is not guilty of the charges and will stand for reelection as planned this fall.
A relatively conservative Democrat who represents a district that stretches along the U.S.–Mexico border around Laredo and pokes up to San Antonio, Cueller is charged with 14 counts of conspiracy, wire fraud, and so forth related to allegations that he was paid under the table to influence U.S. policy on behalf of Azerbaijan’s national oil company, SOCAR, and the Mexican bank Banco Azteca.
The indictment of Cueller could derail the Democrat’s hope of retaking the House in November. Before his legal troubles, Cueller easily won reelection in his district, the 28th. However, since then, and with the ongoing border crisis, the district has become more Republican. The Cook Political Report rates it as having a Democratic “lean” of 3 points—which, roughly speaking, means a generic Democrat would be expected to beat a generic Republican in the district by only a 3-point margin. That’s close enough to mean that Cuellar’s indictment and potential conviction could threaten Dems’ efforts to retake the House of Representatives, where Republicans currently hold by a tenuous four votes.
Cuellar’s wife Imelda was also indicted, which smacks of another recent democrat scandal – the case of New Jersey’s Senator Robert Menendez, whose wife and himself are facing bribery charges.
The Dems are now having to deal with two members of Congress who are in high-stakes races that they are refusing to drop out of despite facing corruption indictments.
All tolled Cuellar and his wife each face two counts of conspiracy to commit bribery of a federal official and to have a public official act as an agent of a foreign principal, two counts of bribery of a federal official, two counts of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud, two counts of violating the ban on public officials acting as agents of a foreign principal, one count of conspiracy to commit concealment money laundering, and five counts of money laundering.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) said in a statement that Cuellar “is entitled to his day in court and the presumption of innocence throughout the legal process.”
As usual, the RIGHT has gotten it all WRONG. I found out about this in NBC Nightly News, about as mainstream as one can get.
As usual Andrew is a dumbass
Punishment for the vile satanic left doesn’t come in this life. They burn in fire and brimstone. Even an evil satanic lying monster moron like Biden shall not escape the wrath of God and judgement and eternal punishment from Jesus Christ.
I think if your initials are BS, you should probably check the bs at the door or at least check your work. Sheridan claims: “ the circus that is Trump’s Stormy Daniels trial, the lamestream media has all but ignored the indictment of Democratic Representative Henry Cuellar from Texas.” First, the only reason Trump’s financial records fraud to win the 2020 election trial is a circus is the clown with the fake golden hair complaining about the AC and everything else. The man needs a good spanking….. But second, as I googled the issue, first was the CBS, NBC NYTImes (2 stories), and a lot of local coverage too. BUSTED for ignorance of the ignoring. Seems Andrew G. noted the same.
He then ties it to Menendez where except for being indicted, there is little in common except they are Democrats.
But for the record, and from MSM, easily found, here’s the list of recent charges in the Congress that is not BS: George Santos, Jeff Fortenberry, Chris Collins, and Duncan Hunter, Sen. Bob Menendez, Reps. Michael G. Grimm, Chaka Fatah, Rick Renzi and Corrine Brown and Sen. Ted Stevens. I tried to speak in BS spin language so hopefully he might get a better understanding of actual reporting of the news and what not to do to avoid spin. IOW — right back at ya Bill.
Santos recently dropped his bid to be re-elected while the charges grew from 13 to 23. The trial is expected in September once NY can get Trump out of courthouse circus ring number one to bring in a new clown. A Republican supported by many Republicans in the House.
Fortenberry is a Republican from Nebraska, yes, even in the nation’s heartland Republicans consistently break the law. He was indicted in 21 for 2016 election fraud, the election supposedly won by Trump who’s up for that fraud too. In 23, he got two years’ probation that he is currently serving. Trump judge probably. He resigned.
Collins is another Republican, this one from New York, nailed for insider trading and getting two years prison in 2020 whereupon Trump gave him a full pardon as Trump likes criminals.
Hunter, another Republican, this one from CA, also got two years in 2020, this guy stole campaign funds, and then a full Trump pardon because he’s a Republican and how can Trump not pardon stealing campaign donations. Doesn’t everyone? At least Republicans. But he and Trump have much in common given they both steal to pay for wine, woman, and songs. Bring on the whores, bring on the clowns.
Brown, Democrat, from the cracker state of Florida, 5 years,, 2017, campaign funds violations. She stole.
Menedez, NJ Democrat, still in court, does not look good, gold bars, bad optics too.
Fattah, Democrat, PA, 10 years in 2017 for racketeering, appealed, got ten again.
Grimm, Republican, NY, tax fraud, 8 months, 2014.
Stevens, Republican, Alaska, guilty 2008, financial fraud, DOJ overturns case, bad prosecution tactics.
Renzi, Republican, Arizona, guilty 2008, real estate fraud, sentenced to prison, in 2013, Trump gives pardon, of course.
There’s your full list, no BS, of Congressional shenanigans with some striking similarities: seven Republicans and 3 Democrats showing that Republicans are more than twice worse than Democrats. They have an advantage in crookedness. Trump pardons Republicans. Now that’s a circus. Biden believes in law and order and he does not let his friends out of jail like Trump.
Fact is, crime knows no party. The greedy guilty are usually not thinking politics but, instead, power. They think they can get away with it. Nor sure many even need it. All should be arrested, indicted, tried, and convicted if guilty. And then, actually serve the time.
Yes, every Democrat gets their day in court. How long do we have to wait to here from a guy with
Gold Bars in his suit?
How long will it be until we here from a guy who Bribed Federal Officials?
Oh, but Trump Paid a Hooker! Stop the presses or start the presses and go straight to Guilty!
Yes, the WORLD MUST KNOW ABOUT TRUMP!
But not from his own words as he has a Gag order.
Spew all the details to nullify the article as NO one cares.
Most people WILL STEP IN DOG SHIT AND CARRY IT WITH THEM until they have enough Brains to Smell it!
BS says, “The Dems are now having to deal with two members of Congress who are in high-stakes races that they are refusing to drop out of despite facing corruption indictments.” This seems quite trite when you compare it to what is going on in the GOP! GOP leader Johnson needed Dems to save him. MTG on her way down. GOP extreme wanting to shut down everything and cannot lead. Their leader and adulterer in chief Trump who wants to be a dictator may be campaigning from jail or house detention. Santos bites the dust. And you think the Dems have problems!!!????
We need more Independent/Unaffiliated voters to right this listing ship!!!
