Israel Warns of New Iranian Plot Against Trump as Threats Escalate

New Intelligence Raises Fresh Alarm

President Donald Trump is once again at the center of what officials say is an ongoing Iranian effort to assassinate him. According to reporting by The Wall Street Journal, Israel recently shared intelligence with the United States indicating that Iran had developed a new plan targeting the president. The reported intelligence was described as a fresh threat, although public reporting has not disclosed specific operational details of the alleged plot.

According to the reports, the warning was delivered by Israeli intelligence officials to their American counterparts. CNN similarly reported that Israel provided intelligence regarding what it described as a specific assassination plot, although U.S. officials had not independently verified every aspect of the intelligence at the time the reports were published. The White House declined to discuss the reported intelligence directly and instead pointed to comments Trump had already made publicly.

Trump Says He Is Iran’s Top Target

Speaking to reporters during the NATO summit in Ankara, Trump said he believes he remains Iran’s highest priority target.

“They want to take out the U.S. leader, me,” Trump said. “I’m on every list. I saw this morning, I’m on every single one of their lists. And so far, I guess I’ve been a little bit lucky, but that maybe doesn’t last very long.”

Trump later reinforced that belief during an interview with the New York Post, saying he had been Iran’s number one target for years.

“I’ve been No. 1 for a long time, and it’s the way life is,” he said.

According to the reporting, Trump also rejected suggestions that the Israeli intelligence represented an entirely new development, arguing instead that Iran has sought to kill him ever since he ordered the 2020 strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

Trump Says He Left Orders if He Is Assassinated

Perhaps Trump’s strongest statement came when he described what he says would happen if Iran were ever successful.

“I’ve left instructions. If anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before.”

The remark underscored both the seriousness with which Trump views the threat and his long standing position that Iran must believe any attack on American leadership would bring overwhelming consequences.

What Is Known About the Reported Plot

Despite the alarming reports, relatively few operational details have been made public.

According to CNN, one source said Israel warned Washington of a specific plot, while another said U.S. intelligence had been monitoring a steady stream of discussions involving possible attacks against Trump in recent weeks. However, American officials reportedly had not independently confirmed all aspects of the Israeli intelligence before receiving the warning.

Some U.S. officials also suggested that Israeli officials may have hoped the intelligence would influence Trump’s decisions regarding future military operations against Iran. That possibility has also been reported publicly, although no evidence has been presented that the intelligence itself was fabricated.

Years of Iranian Threats

The reported plot did not emerge in a vacuum.

Iran has publicly vowed revenge ever since January 2020, when a U.S. drone strike ordered by Trump killed Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force.

According to the material provided, federal prosecutors have previously charged multiple individuals connected to alleged Iranian assassination plots targeting current and former U.S. officials. Those reported targets have included Trump, former National Security Adviser John Bolton, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and other senior American officials connected to the Soleimani strike. Those cases have been described in public indictments and Justice Department prosecutions.

The author believes these repeated cases demonstrate that Iran’s threats should not be viewed as isolated rhetoric but rather as part of a sustained campaign of retaliation.

Khamenei’s Funeral Revives Calls for Trump’s Death

Public threats were again visible during funeral ceremonies following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Photographs and videos described in multiple reports showed mourners carrying banners reading “We Will Kill Trump.” Other demonstrators displayed signs saying “KILL TRUMP,” burned American flags, struck images depicting Trump, and hanged the president in effigy while crowds chanted anti American slogans.

Those public displays illustrate that calls for violence continue to receive open public expression within the Iranian regime’s political culture.

An Ongoing Security Challenge

Whether the latest Israeli intelligence ultimately proves fully accurate remains to be seen. What is already well documented, however, is that Trump has lived under an extraordinary level of threat for years because of the Soleimani strike. Multiple reported investigations, criminal indictments, public threats, and now new intelligence warnings all point to Iran continuing to view the president as one of its highest priority adversaries.

Regardless of the precise details of the latest reported plot, the broader pattern is unmistakable. Iranian leaders and supporters have repeatedly called for Trump’s death, U.S. authorities have prosecuted multiple alleged assassination conspiracies tied to Iran, and Israeli intelligence now says another plot was recently uncovered. Taken together, those developments suggest that protecting the president against Iranian retaliation remains one of the most significant national security challenges facing the United States.
