ICE Targets the “Worst of the Worst” of Migrant Criminals
Thanks to President Trump, overall arrests of migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border by federal immigration officials have dropped to record low levels. The deterrent impact of Trump’s crackdown at the border is now allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to focus on the apprehension of criminals who are considered “the worst of the worst,” and such arrests of violent sex offenders and pedophiles are increasing nationwide!
A great example is reported by NewsNation, whose reporters were present for ICE’s apprehension of a convicted child sex offender in El Paso, Texas, last week. Jonathan Olvera Vega was found guilty of multiple crimes involving children under 14, including sexual abuse, indecency with a child by contact, and aggravated sexual assault, all stemming from incidents between May and August 2021.
However, Vega was sentenced to probation and was placed on community supervision as of May. Vega was taken into custody without incident. NewsNation, which witnessed his arrest in Texas, says it is “representative” of other arrests that ICE is making around the country.
The outlet has also confirmed that migrants who are being targeted by ICE because of criminal warrants or previous orders of removal from the United States have taken place in cities such as Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Dallas. ICE made a series of arrests across the country in the last week or so, including the apprehension of migrants with previous convictions for sex crimes against children, forcible touching, possession of methamphetamine with conspiracy to deliver, and assault and battery on a law enforcement officer.
It has also been confirmed that ICE arrested a 34-year-old migrant from Mexico in Kansas City, who officials say was an admitted member of the Surenos Sur13 gang, who previously had been deported from the US four times.
The recent arrests by ICE come as US Border Patrol officials announced that federal agents and officers made approximately 4,601 migrant arrests at the border in July. That tally was roughly 1,500 fewer than in June, which set a record for the fewest number of migrant arrests made at the border.
All of those who have been apprehended in the current “worst of the worst” sweep remain in ICE custody pending an appearance before a judge who will determine if they will be deported.

It’s ok if they round up a few democrats. One in New Jersey would be great.
Hard to believe Hammon can be like that and call himself a citizen patriot. May his kind thoughts be returned upon him ten fold.
Bill proudly says: “CE Targets the “Worst of the Worst” of Migrant Criminals” yet he won’t tell you whether ICE can hit it’s target, nor frankly, any statistics at all for criminality. Is ICE even hitting it’s target or do they suffer from a lack of focus on anything beyond brown people. Here’s mine:
NBC is tracking a combination of ICE reported data and CBP reported data to try to figure out what’s happening in deportation land. Now, you can claim NBC is leftist fake media, but these are ICE/CBP reported numbers. As of August 1
• 57K in detention. Like Hoboken NJ or Hempstead NY, we are paying food, room, and ac for. We’re lodging a small city for your pleasure. Personally, I would rather get my house painted…..
o Only 29% have criminal records, is ICE missing it’s target?
o 25% have pending criminal CHARGES, not convictions. Has ICE no focus?
o Only 12% flagged for fast deportation
• 47% are border jumping misdemeanors, a $250 fine and how much to incarcerate?
• Deportations under, but near 20,000 a month. Would take over 60 years at this rate to get to 15M Trump promise. At 100K per month, it takes 13 years. Trump failed before he began. He lied to you just like the Epstein files and client list.
• ICE claimed in July 24, 435,000 unauthorized criminal immigrants in total, in USA. That’s 13K for murder, 16K for sexual abuse. As of May, Trump arrested 752 of these for murder, and 1,700 for sexual abuse. You tell me: focus on target?
• Most detainees are in the South, from CA to FL. Louisiana is making a real business out of this by reopening decrepit, closed, prisons and jails. Somehow, I see a Paul Newman type movie coming up: “what we have here, is a failure to exterminate.”
I have said, over and over, let’s get the criminals out of here. What was wrong with Biden on this? Freakin guy had his head so far up his ass on this that he lost the election for us. Get em out, fix the process so they can’t stay in the future, at least on the street. Who the hell allowed that —- let’s fire that guy.
But as to the rest: does ICE really have to behave like this for these results? And how much do these results cost us? Both in our integrity as a nation that supposedly rules by the people’s laws and on the money. I really don’t care how much per criminal, but what are we spending for the undocumented border jumper who is working, paying taxes, obeying all laws save the $250 misdemeanor of border jumping. I have a feeling this is a really bad deal on the money to rid us of a guy obeying all laws save a misdemeanor.
Again —- E-Verify fixes this. It’s working today. No one here has had any objection. Many proposed laws including it, or standalone, are in Congress awaiting final vote and determination. These are mostly Republican sponsored laws, with a few bipartisan and, who knows, I did not look, might even be some of these sponsored by Democrats. What E-Verify does is verify you are a citizen. If yes, you can work, if no, you cannot. Period. All we would need to do if offer free ride out of here given that people without work, without money, can get kind of testy when they can’t get enough to eat. Better to give bus ride than be bopped over the head for lunch money. Still BILLIONS cheaper than this horror show.
Bill claims “worst of the worst,” come from cross the border. I wonder if Epstein and Maxwell were boarder jumpers. I don’t think anyone is against deporting border jumping criminals and most everyone questions why they were still here under Trump I and Biden I. The question is how many get deported without due process, a criminal conviction and then, to what horrendous outcomes for those only guilty of boarder jumping, a $250 misdemeanor fine. The answer is both a lot of innocents (beyond misdemeanor) and too many without a conviction.
The real truth is we don’t know how many and we can’t. There is no transparency from the Trump administration. They will say anything including they are the most transparent administration in history. No one knows how many criminals incarcerated/deported. No one knows how many incarcerated. How many killed in ICE raids and detentions. How many sent to the Salvadorian gulag, how many sent to civil war in the South Sudan, or where else are we sending them when we don’t send them home.
The administrations revels in cruelty, they like advertising using the military, shackling, hobbling, putting folks in Alligator Alcatraz, CECOT and South Sudan. Pictures of unidentified, secret police in full camo and facemasks, and not for covid, for effect. Their master sits in his golden chair, surrounded by golden objects, almost cackling in delight over his creation of cruelty.
We know border jumping is way down; Biden had it lowered 50% or more and Trump’s advertising of his horror show has taken it down farther. Worked last time too. But again, we don’t know the numbers, not really. No transparency and those who report bad numbers are often publicly fired as liars or sycophants for the left.
Most experts figure it’s about 30% criminal, 70% not and we are deporting about 20K per month as of end of July. At that rate, Trump will not make his promised commitment for over 50 years. At 5 times his current rate, it will take over a decade to reach his commitment. IOW — he lied to you on day one about this and you should be asking what else he has lied about.
Yes, we all want the criminals deported. Yes, everyone wants a secure border. But you can’t have what Trump promised, he lied. You cannot get rid of 15,000,000 people in 4 years. Not is a decade either. Matter of fact, it actually can be done, but not the way Trump is doing it. You don’t need cruelty. You don’t’ need to act like assholes. And it exists, it’s been tested, it’s being used, it works. E-Verify will fix the problem literally overnight. E-Verify is a Republican idea that Trump appears not to have a clue about. They have around half a dozen versions in Congress already. Makes one wonder what is this all about anyway since it doesn’t seem to be about deporting 15 million people, most just guilty of the $250 misdemeanor of jumping the border. It seems to almost be more about the spectacle Trump is creating for effect just to prove the most powerful man in the world is……well…..powerful because he can beat up on little brown men. Weird.
