Hunter Biden’s Legal Defeats Follow Father’s Presidential Drop-Out Decision

Hunter Biden’s Legal Defeats Follow Father’s Presidential Drop-Out Decision

Less than a month after he filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News, Hunter Biden has dropped the case while his legal team has been caught lying in another case wherein he awaits trial for tax evasion. The convicted felon’s legal troubles come on top of his father, Joe Biden, quitting his reelection campaign.

Hunter Biden filed the lawsuit against Fox News on June 30 after about two years of a TV series called The Trial of Hunter Biden that aired on the channel. The series depicted various crimes Hunter Biden has been accused of and included some nude images of him as his infamous laptop revealed him engaging in prostitution and adultery. The lawsuit demanded compensation from Fox News for its attempt to “humiliate, harass, annoy, and alarm Mr. Biden and to tarnish his reputation.” It claimed that Hunter Biden suffered “lasting emotional distress” due to the airing of the series.

The interesting aspect of Hunter’s lawsuit was the timing; the series aired in 2022 but the junior Biden waited until 2024 to challenge it in the court of law. Fox News responded to the lawsuit by calling it “entirely politically motivated” and “devoid of merit. Just three weeks after filing, Hunter withdrew his case against Fox. National Review reported on July 22 that Hunter Biden “quietly dropped” the lawsuit.

The timing of dropping the case against Fox is even more dramatic. Hunter stepped back from the lawsuit hours after Joe Biden announced via X (Twitter) on Sunday (July 21) that he isn’t running for reelection anymore. As reported on Deadline.com, Biden’s attorney Tina Glandian provided no explanation as to why the lawsuit has been dropped.

This isn’t the sole legal setback for Hunter Biden following his father’s reluctant exit from the upcoming presidential race. On Wednesday (July 24), U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi of California threatened to sanction Hunter Biden’s attorneys for making false statements in their motion to dismiss the criminal charges against Hunter over his tax evasion crime. Reporting on the story, The Hill wrote:

Scarsi wrote that Biden’s attorneys falsely claimed that U.S. Attorney David Weiss did not bring charges against the president’s son until after he was appointed special counsel.

Judge Scarsi then wrote that Mr. Biden’s counsel knew that these statements were false and issued an order asking Hunter Biden’s attorneys to show cause why sanctions should not be imposed on them for making false statements. The attorneys are required to respond to the order within seven days.

Last month in Delaware, Hunter Biden was found guilty of three criminal charges of illegally purchasing and possessing a gun. The presiding judge did not set a date for sentencing the junior Biden but indicated that it could happen within 120 days of the conviction. Conservatives suspect that before leaving office, Joe Biden will pardon his son.

Tom, why did you just HAVE to bring Trump up in an article about Hunter? This is a CONSERVATIVE channel as it says on the front page. You and Stetson Baby are turning it into left of center and more left on every day, every article. You both will NOT be forgotten in the long run. I am also:
