Goodnight, Sleepy Joe
Speaking at a campaign event Wednesday, Democratic hopeful Elizabeth Warren suggested it was inappropriate to allow the son of the Vice President of the United States to serve on the board of a foreign company.
The comment was directed at rival Joe Biden, whom she has eclipsed to take first place in two national polls (the first time this has happened).
Her comment is related to Hunter Biden and his work in Ukraine – an old controversy that has been brought to light in connection with Democrats’ impeachment inquiry into President Trump. The inquiry focuses on a July phone call, in which Trump called the Ukrainian president and suggested he investigate the Bidens.
These are the opening shots as the Democratic candidates for President cannibalize themselves. Warren sees blood in the water, she has beaten Joe in two major polls for the first time. Now is the time to pile on. Others will follow, and everyone must eventually condemn Biden’s actions as heinous and promise they they would never do them.
The liberal media isn’t catching on, but everytime they attack Trump on this issue, they have to mention Joe Biden’s crime. These are serious, certain and easy to understand by the Democrat constituency.
Joe is done.
Want the rest of it?
Hunter Biden served on the board of Ukrainian oil and gas company Burisma from 2014 to 2019, making $50,000 per month. Critics said the hire was an attempt to influence then-Vice President Biden, who oversaw Ukrainian policy at the White House.
Burisma was founded by Mykola Zlochevsky, who later worked as Environment Minister under Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. After Yanukovych was ousted by public protest in 2014, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Ukraine launched investigations into Zlochevsky regarding allegations of embezzlement and tax fraud.
In December 2014, the United States complained that Ukraine wasn’t doing enough to move the investigation forward. In 2016, Vice President Joe Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in loan guarantees from Ukraine unless the nation’s lead prosecutor (Viktor Shokin) was removed from office. Shokin was also investigating Burisma, the company that was providing Hunter with a handsome salary.
The public has no choice but to believe Biden used his position as vice president to protect his son – an impeachable offense.
Author’s Note: This issue could very well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for Biden’s presidential campaign. Biden can expect to be questioned on this scandal by all of his rivals.
