Biden back in public … and no one cares

President Biden participated in his first one-on-one media interview since leaving office in January. The honor – if that is what it be – went to a foreign news agency – BBC. He followed up with an appearance on “The View” along with his wife, Jill.
The first obvious question is: How well did he do in view of the notable physical and mental decline that led to his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential campaign? While he did not have any dramatic “senior moments”, his overall demeanor on BBC was that of an old man. His voice was weak, and his speech was hesitant. He seemed the same on “The View” but had Dr. Jill to run interference.
In the BBC interview, Biden benefited from VERY friendly – an occasionally fawning – questions from Nick Robinson. Robinson would often lead his questions with flattering comments. The result of an interview that was mostly platitudes, reverie and romanticism.
For example, Biden was asked to talk about the Great War and his feelings when visiting Normandy. We got the “great sacrifice by so many brave men and women” Memorial Day speech. Not that what Biden said was not true, but it was not new or appropriate to a serious interview.
Biden was asked about his son, Beau. And understandably, Biden praised him and his service. Conspicuous by their absence were questions about his son, Hunter.
Robinson asked leading questions about the threat to democracy – and Biden responded according to the Democrat party line. Biden said he worries about the American democracy. His only direct attack on Trump was over the issues of the Panama Canal, Canada and Greenland. “What President talks like that?” he rhetorically asked.
In terms of his accomplishments as President, Biden gave the same talking points he delivered from his bunker during the campaign – most of which were rejected by the voters. The toughest question was whether it would have gone better for Democrats if Biden had dropped out earlier. The former President did not think it would have mattered. I tend to agree.
There was no question about Afghanistan and Abbey Gate – and amazingly not a single question about the border crisis … inflation … Hamas (and terrorism in general). No insightful questions. No tough questions. Nothing newsworthy.
Biden was not challenged on his weakness in dealing with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. He did nothing as Putin amassed troops on the Ukraine border – and then he pursued a too little/too late policy that prolonged the war to the standoff we see today. The sanctions he piddled out over months and years were anemic — and were only somewhat effective in the third year of the war. Yet, Robinson never pursued the war in any detail.
In his one inquiry about ceding land to Russia, Biden said giving the Russian dictator any Ukrainian land was appeasement. Too bad he did not make that his policy goal while in office. In terms of his “too little/too late” policies, Biden said he gave Ukraine all that they needed – and he feared doing more would provoke Putin to go nuclear. It was obviously NOT all they needed.
Biden’s appearance on “The View” was more of the same with one notable exception. Jill Biden resorted to the old cover-up lie — that old Joe was sharp as a tack. She said that she was with him day and night and saw how hard he worked with full energy and uncompromised mental acuity. Uh huh!
Perhaps the most interesting thing to come out of Biden’s return to the public forum was the reaction of Democrats. In a CNN interview, political analyst, S.E. Cupp said “Democrat voters are over him. Democrat lawmakers are angry at him. And Democrat donors are done with him. They don’t want him around.”
Democrat strategist Alyssa Farah Griffin was just as harsh. She said that Biden is the messenger “that no Democrat wants to see out there right now.” Griffen referred to his “mixed legacy” and things like the Afghan surrender
Other Democrats feared that a reemerging Biden would remind people why so many preferred Trump – and just when they believe they have Trump on the ropes.
Just as telling is the number of invitations Biden receives from Democrat leaders to support their campaigns and participate in their political events. The answer is close to none.
For his part, BBC’s Robinson – and the ladies of “The View” – were not lobbing softballs, they were pitching wiffle balls. It could not have been soppier if the interviews had been conducted by Jill Biden. There is something pathetic in seeing a has-been trying to reclaim the days of glory. But that is what we got.
So, there ‘tis.
The author appears to have the compassion of a jellyfish and the moral fiber of a sponge; not a human nerve or brain cell to tweak.
I base that on his obsession to frequently blast Biden one more time with made-up medical assumptions combined with his delusional journeys into a jaded view of history well before it’s time. Why? Is Trump really doing that bad that we need to drag Biden into the mud again?
His article is titled: “Biden back in public … and no one cares” as he rails on the man for close to 1,000 words, about four pages, double-spaced. Apparently the author really cares, like BDS level caring. As is with his Felon King, Donnny 2 Dolls, his obsession with Biden goes unabated and he seeks any opportunity to relive the past threw rose-colored glasses while admitting there is no Biden future. His BDS shows as he repeats the same old whines. And they don’t get better with age. Hell, he even brings back Hunter one more time. The fucker has been pardoned, just like the thousands of cop beating fuckers that Trump let go, so let it go. They are just footnotes in history, not history.
Let’s be clear, Biden served his state, his nation, as a public servant, for close to half a century. The author tried to serve but the people refused him. Biden did not enrich himself in office, the author has fed well off the political through for decades. Biden was the people’s choice over a dozen times. I think it’s time we honor service to America no matter what race, creed, religion or politics you espouse. The author does not. The author can not. His win-lose mentality precludes it.
In his obsession, he states: “The first obvious question is: How well did he do in view of the notable physical and mental decline that led to his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential campaign?” Was not the article entitled: “who cares?” I think we have an answer…. He then plays doctor and psychiatrist calling out symptoms as he analyzes in-depth the health of a man he has never met. “Who cares?”
Trump looks like a drooling idiot lately who keeps saying “I don’t know,” “perhaps,” “I have lots of lawyers for that” and other dodges for his lack of mental acuity. His bald spot keeps showing, and he seems uncomfortably with his new lower weight due to his massive cholesterol reducing drug cocktail. Apparently, he was a walking heart attack and needed to send roto router into his arteries. But do we talk about that, noooooooo, just a perfect health report stating he’s the healthiest President ever. Perhaps healthiest 78 year old President, but time will tell. Does the author ever review his guy’s delusional comments, strange utterances, and outright lies —- tens of thousands of them? Listen closely and you may swear he’s got TS too. I guess it’s who cares?
The author then spends the remaining pages going down his memory lane of Biden pet peeves, fake complaints, lamenting that they didn’t grill the ex-President on every questionable aspect of his Presidency. Who cares? His BDS has no bounds. As far as I am concerned, there is no reason to question Biden’s health and mental acuity any more than we should question the author who recently went off line and certainly does not seem himself, or as sharp anymore. Hopefully he will recover in time. He even has been spotted signing articles as Joe Gilbertson. Weird. And as far as Biden’s actions —- like any President, there’s good, bad, and ugly, and IMO Biden’s scale tips much more to the good side than our current Felon Rapist King. So far, his economy is better, he adds more jobs, he adds more factories. The author will need some actual benefits for Trump before he compares.
But Trump is different. Unlike Biden who governed, Trump runs the whole show himself with EO’s, proclamations, and taxation without representation. He does very little to nothing through Congress. I don’t like having only one man’s hand on the wheel. I still believe in The People to guide the nation, whatever party holds any of the three branches of government.
Looking in the rearview mirror does not change Trump or let him off the hook. The honeymoon is over. Find something relevant to talk about. Maybe Melanoma’s new hat or Donny 2 Dolls new, used, recycled Muslim jet.
Stfu Dunger. Your mind is obsessed with Trump. He’s doing a great job and Biden is a retarded failure. And I’m glad that he failed and caused kumbreath Harris to lose. You’re about as unhinged and America hating as antifa. So do yourself a favor. Get help. I was disappointed and troubled when the election was stolen in 2020. But I didn’t lose my mind because of it.
Auntie Tam coming a bit unglued at the seams, eh. Tighty righty whities a bit knicker knotted as you come a cropper? All I can say is right back at ya, big guy. STFU and make my day. BTB, I spell my name: danger. If you want to talk issues, let’s go. If you continue just to talk trash: KMAYOYO.
You claim I am obsessed with Trump as you bring up Biden and Harris yet again, over and over. FYI: they are not in office, Trump is. They are not relevant, like you, but as much as I hate to say it: Trump is. You claim I hate America just like antifa; not even close. You have offered zero evidence to prove your lame point. Prove it or STFU. Because if my disagreements with Trump and Trump policies = antifa hate —— then you must be the NAZI-antifa-woke-dei-blm America hating fool given your statements on Biden/Harris alone. But I would not say that; I speak to the issues of the day.
Issue 1 – the economy. You say Trump is doing a great job. Is a negative GDP growth a job well done?
Issue 2 – defending the nation’s health. Is the measles pandemic on Trump’s watch your idea of great? On 5/8/25, Trump has a total of 1,001 confirmed measles cases were reported by 31 states; it’s everywhere. It’s May, and Trump has 14 outbreaks with 93% of confirmed cases outbreak-associated. In 2024, 16 outbreaks were reported, 69% of cases were outbreak-associated. So, we will blow that number away, perhaps doubler it, with bigger and huger outbreaks. Isn’t that great? So far, 10% are hospitalized and 3 dead, on Trump’s watch. FYI: if they take the vaccine, the pandemic is over in weeks. A great President might mention that. Trump does not. You call not telling his peeps the straight skinny a great job? A few weeks and it could be ended IF the bully pulpit used its power for good instead of self-enrichment and self-aggrandization.
Issue 3 – business/emoluments during Presidency. Is doing billions in family business with Muslims plus taking a $400M 13-year-old used jet from the Muslims doing the job great? Is that what you call loving America, being for sale to the Muslim state?
Issue 4 – taxation without representation. Are the tariffs a great? Really? Aren’t they a good example of taxation without representation where only one man makes decisions that control the entire economy. In business, we call that monopoly. In government, we call that monarchy. Is that just fucking-a-skippy great for you?
Issue 5 – basic human rights. How about disappearing innocent victims, humans, to a third-world death camp gulag where people go in, but only come out in boxes. And we pay them to kill these victims. That’s great to you? It’s one thing to deport illegals, criminals, and undocumented. But if you do the right thing, the wrong way, that’s not great.
Come on man, certainly this can’t all be great for you. Really?
Hey! Grow up! Biden was/is a crook, a weirdo, and a terrible person. Showering with his daughter until she was 9. Smelling girls and women’s hair, even in public. Working only Tuesday – Thursday his whole life. Allowing himself to be bribed by public officials, corrupting his family (his son, brothers, etc) by getting them to participate in his bribery schemes. And then you can consider the political mistakes like choosing Kamala Harris for VP, making her the border czar. Never giving her any real responsibility or encouraging her to tackle a problem. He did that because he just didn’t care about solving problems. Only getting reelected. No leadership himself. He tore down the border wall that Trump built and gave the Yall come message to the entire world. None of these people had been vetted, like our laws have always required. He could care less about the country. Now he is a retired multi-millionaire and apparently will not be prosecuted for any of his many crimes. I am 79 years old and he is definitely the worst and least respected president of my lifetime.
Biden was kicked out of the race because the democrats thought heels up Harris was a shoo in. What a joke. But Frank Dunger is coming apart daily.
Frank is spot on as he points to discrepancies in Larry’s opinion piece that bend to personal bias and away from objective fact and the honest truth. That those whose comments in reaction to Frank Dangers are unjustified allegations is contentious bickering. Bickering is composed of cheep shots and easy punch lines requiring no intellectual forethought.
PBP comment history has it that the Reply commentators who seem to align with the author’s views on any of the subjects he opines on, feel an obligation to come to the author’s defense in the event of an assumed challenge, especially any comments from Frank Danger.
Although Larry has chosen silence instead of his usual personal denigration style defense against all comers’ challenges made to an article’s premise, the bickering boys of PBP do nothing for Larry’s assumptions nor do their remarks undermine Frank Danger’s points. And, Larry’s resistance against Frank Danger’s comments with engaging in substantive argument form conversation does reveal a change for Larry. The combativeness that had fueled Larry’s responses in reply to Frank and others’ comments appears to have been replaced with a “whatever” attitude matched with an “I have spoken” mentality about his opinion commentary pieces.
As far as Larry’s assumed answer to his question about anyone who cares what Biden says and is at the present time is irrelevant. What is entirely relevant today and until January 20, 2029 comes to mind with the greatest urgency. Current President, DJ Trump is the who and what Americans show they are attentive and care with concern for their present and future security.
Biden joins the former president ranks like his predecessors. Care for Biden is directly related to the status of his involvement in present day events that touch Americans’ daily life and their future. No matter whether or not one voted Republican in 2016, 2020, and 2024 the fact that Trump has the presidency at present and wants his word to be law in this country, if not the for the World, his actions and behaviors must evoke in each American more care for this nation’s sustainability with Trump’s hands on the levers.
President Biden has retired from government service and his time on watch his been completed. All references to that time and his record are made from a disrespectful spirit. Those who engage in dredging up history out of spite and seek advantage when having already taken full advantage and won, by doing the dredging humiliate themselves, their cause, and display their insecurity. Dragging Biden back into the present does nothing to further hurt Biden. What it actually does bring is disgust from those of us who care how people can badly treat honorable former presidents for some perceived political gain.
Larry, there are a great crowd of loyal Americans who care when Biden is mentioned and questioned. You, especially are suspect on the subject of Biden. This article is further evidence of your anti-Biden angry bias. While objectivity is not your forte when your opinion is front and center listing to the right, on the subject of Biden your opinion falls far on the right.
Far right, like far left, is systemically wrong every time. On Biden’s history it’s always best that 2nd and third opinions get heard.
