Trump Intensifies Push to Eliminate Mail-In Voting Before 2026
President Donald Trump has made it clear that mail-in voting must come to an end if America is to have secure elections. Speaking from the White House alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump announced that “we’re going to start with an executive order that’s being written right now by the best lawyers in the country to end mail-in ballots because they’re corrupt.” He added that the move would “help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections.”
On his Truth Social account, Trump told his supporters, “I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS. The States are merely an ‘agent’ for the Federal Government in counting and tabulating the votes. They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do.” He also demanded that voting machines be eliminated, describing them as “highly inaccurate, very expensive, and seriously controversial.”
Why Trump Believes Mail Ballots Are Dangerous
Trump has consistently warned that mail-in ballots are open to abuse and fraud. “Mail-in ballots are corrupt,” he said recently, suggesting that in California “some people get five, six, seven ballots delivered to them.” He has long argued that the process allows ballots to be tampered with, stolen, or manipulated once they leave the hands of election officials.
The president has also claimed that the United States is “now the only Country in the World that uses Mail-In Voting” and argued, “You will never have an honest election if you have mail-in. And it’s time that the Republicans get tough and stop it, because the Democrats want it. It’s the only way they can get elected.”
Trump even cited his recent meeting with Vladimir Putin, telling Fox News that the Russian president said, “Your election was rigged because you have mail-in voting.” Trump recalled that Putin told him, “You won that election by so much, and that’s how Biden got it.”
Documented Cases of Abuse
Critics argue that mail-in ballots are safe, but history shows otherwise. In 2018, North Carolina’s Ninth Congressional District election was thrown out after ballot harvesters illegally collected and altered absentee ballots. A new election was ordered because the fraud was so widespread it cast doubt on the outcome.
In 2020, a municipal election in Paterson, New Jersey, was overturned after hundreds of fraudulent mail ballots were discovered. State prosecutors charged multiple individuals, including a city councilman, with election fraud tied directly to the misuse of mail-in ballots.
Cases like these are not limited to one state. In Texas, political workers have been prosecuted for exploiting elderly voters through mail ballot schemes, sometimes filling out ballots on their behalf or harvesting them illegally. These examples show that the system has been manipulated before, and Trump’s warning that it will be abused again carries weight.
Legal Battles Ahead
Legal experts admit Trump faces an uphill battle. Under Article I, Section 4 of the Constitution, states have authority over elections. Derek Muller, a law professor at the University of Notre Dame, said, “The president doesn’t have any unilateral authority over election devices, and the states principally control presidential elections.” Another scholar, Jed Handelsman Shugerman of Boston University, dismissed Trump’s assertion that states act only as federal agents in elections, calling it “authoritarian fan fiction.”
Yet Trump is undeterred. In March, he signed an executive order to require proof of citizenship for voter registration and to ban counting ballots that arrive after Election Day. A federal judge blocked most of that order, but Trump is pushing forward with new efforts, determined to reshape how elections are conducted before 2026.
Opposition From Democrats and Activists
Democrats immediately condemned Trump’s announcement. New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver said, “Here in New Mexico, our elections are safeguarded by multiple layers of security. Eliminating mail-in ballots and voting machines would disenfranchise countless eligible voters.”
The American Civil Liberties Union also promised a fight. Sophia Lin Lakin, director of the ACLU’s Voting Rights Project, said, “We are prepared to protect mail-in voting in court against unfounded and unconstitutional attacks.”
Despite these objections, Trump and his supporters argue that in-person voting is the gold standard. It allows for identification checks, supervised voting, and secure ballot collection, unlike mail-in ballots which pass through many hands and mail systems before being counted.
Political Stakes
The stakes are high. Democrats leaned heavily on mail-in voting during the 2020 election. According to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 58 percent of Democrats cast ballots by mail compared to only 29 percent of Republicans. Although Republicans closed the gap in 2024, Democrats still maintained an edge. Trump and his allies argue that Democrats cling to mail-in voting because it benefits their turnout.
“It’s time that the Republicans get tough and stop it,” Trump said. Removing mail-in voting would level the playing field and force both parties to rely on in-person participation. Republicans believe this would energize their base and prevent the kind of ballot harvesting scandals that have plagued past elections.
A Defining Fight for 2026
Trump’s vow to abolish mail-in ballots is not just another policy announcement. It is a defining battle over the future of American elections. Trump has warned, “THE MAIL-IN BALLOT HOAX, USING VOTING MACHINES THAT ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER, MUST END, NOW!!!” His words reflect the urgency of the fight as he works to restore trust in the ballot box.
For Democrats and liberal activists, mail-in voting represents convenience and expanded access. For Trump and millions of his supporters, it represents vulnerability, fraud, and corruption. The fight over whether America will keep or abolish mail-in ballots is now set to dominate the lead-up to the 2026 midterms.
Trump’s position is clear: if the United States wants honest elections, the era of mail-in voting must end.
PB Editor: This is definitely true, mail-in ballots have been mightily abused, to the point of changing election results. But it might also serve to allow people to vote, who really want to vote, not people who get a knock at the door from sinister liberals who offer to “help” with the ballot and carry it to the post office.

That shit is a great part of voter fraud
So Trump just admitted that he committed FRAUD, since he has always mailed in his vote.
Trump, While Attacking Mail Voting, Casts Mail Ballot Again

So what about the disabled person who can’t get out to vote, or the senior citizen who doesn’t get out. Longer voting lines will discourage some voting.
Exceptions
We should be working together to make things better. Trump won this election with a plurality, not majority, there is no mandate; it is a 2.3M voter advantage out of 152m votes. He should listen to us; he should not target us for his petty grievances. We should join to improve the lives of all citizens, just not red, just not attacking blue. We should not be arrested for a ham sandwich, tackled for asking a question, or cuffed for some jostling. And we don’t want your secret police roaming our streets.
It seems that the favored Republican solution for almost any problem is to burn it down. Their healthcare plan, burn down Medicaid, burn down Medicare, burn down Obamacare. Replacements and improvements they have none. They have problems with vaccine efficacy, burn down vaccine research, problem solved, there will be no lifesaving drugs created on their watch. They have problems with upper education wokeness and dei, burn it down by canceling research into innovations for mankind. Problems with books, burn them, ban them. Problems with statistics, fire the bean counters. Problems with intelligence, fire the experts. Problems with woman’s freedom of choice, burn down the clinics. Problems with government spending burned down federal income tax.
Problems with history, burn down the Smithsonian. Problems with art, burn down the Kennedy center. What I want to know as the top burning question for Republicans today is, what is it, boxers or briefs? Which is more appropriate to your social contract and family values. Let my balls hang free or tighty whities for the righties? I mean if Trump wants to touch all of our blue state’s rights, militarily control our blue cities, and mandate our social fabric, why not touch us where it counts? After all, he is Epstein’s best friend is he not?
The civil war seems to have started; one side has launched the military against the other. Gavin has said he will punch Trump in the face, so bring it on.
Fact is, Republicans often have a hard time building or creating anything. Where is the new infrastructure? Where’s the new power grid? How about one airport upgrade? How about healthcare fix, got any? Lots of talk of factories, broke ground yet or just hot air like last time?
It is obvious that for mail in voting, Republicans cannot assure that it’s safe. They just don’t know how to make it safe; they give up. They are incompetent and incapable of making mail in voting safe. They just can’t get it done. The funny thing is, they can’t assure that it’s unsafe either. Trump only votes via mail in and now, with his old-man bloated ankles, don’t expect a change in that. But Trump wants to burn it all down because he was told to. PUTIN told him that mail in voting is unsafe, that no countries use it, and many other lies. Over 30 countries use mail in, 12 of them use it for all voters. TACO. So, you are basically listening to Putin make this decision for you. TACO. Ukraine: TACO. Iran: TACO. GAZA: TACO. Epstein: TACO, TACO, give Maxwell a TACO break.
The author proves my point. Over the last seven years, he has two cases of voter fraud. WOW. Neither case is for a national election. That’s muther fucking huge. NOT1 Both cases are for local jurisdictions, and in both cases, the perpetrators were easily caught. The system worked.
Your best proof of fraud is THAT you lost and therefore there must be cheating. Said the same thing about your spouse no doubt.
In the first case, in a single district in North Carolina, for a House of Representatives vote, it appears that Republicans cheated and got caught. In the second case, it was just one city in New Jersey. I have never been to Patterson. It is an old city and there are many others to choose from. My family hailed from there in the early 1900’s, but my portion was from The Main Line. What I know about Patterson is that the river is forever polluted beyond repair below Patterson for the next 17 miles; my family left as soon as they could afford it and never came back. At least the waterfall is still pretty clean. In this case, being a city election, they don’t offer what party they belong to, but it appears that it was Democrats that cheated and were easily caught.
If this is the total amount of egregious mail in voter fraud that the author could find in the last seven years or the best examples that he could find throughout history, that seems to be a pretty minor percentage of the total votes cast over that time. Matter of fact, I don’t think it would hit the voter Richter scale of cheating.
BUSTED
The real reason the President is doing this is that he believes that Democrats will be more affected than Republicans. He’s probably right. However, Republicans would be hurt. Currently, mail in voting is 60% democratic and 33% Republican. That’s the proof in the pudding of why he’s doing this. In no way does this increase voter participation, it can only decrease, and Trump is betting he wins by restricting participation. But Republicans would be hurt.
He’s also rewriting the constitution where elections are documented as the sole province of the state. The king does not like this. He is federalizing, once again, state’s rights. Taking away states’ rights and mandating what they do. Bend a knee or here comes the military. Civil war. This time it’s for elections. He’s already federalized the state in order to further his social civil war by sending both the military and his secret police into the state to take over. He has federalized upper education mandating how they walk talk speak and act. He has federalized the legal system forcing law firms to bend the knee. He even wants to federalize the Commanders to call them Redskins again.
I am a mail in voter. I will not vote in a polling booth. If you cancel mail in voting, you cancel my vote and how do you think I should act? We are the most powerful nation in the world, we are the smartest, we are the richest, the most creative. Yet, Republicans cannot figure out how to make voting safe outside of the polling booth. I contend that the polling booth is unsafe. My proof: have you seen Mission Impossible? And how about those voting machines; Trump said they were corrupted too. If Republicans cannot fix mail in voting to their pleasure, if they cannot figure out how to make Internet voting secure, then let’s just face it, they suck.
Democrats are progressive, Republicans seem to be getting more regressive every day. Bring back The Inquisition! BURN IT ALL DOWN. See you in the street.
