Rascal Raskin now threatening foreign governments

Maryland Congressman Jamie Raskin is a member-in-good-standing in the cabal of Democrat legislators with the most severe cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome. That makes him a popular guest on the left leaning news programs. He was among the founders of the Trump Resistance Movement that Democrats launched the day after the 2016 election. He was the Democrats’ floor manager for Trump’s second impeachment. He was also a member of the January 6 (kangaroo) congressional committee.
Like all of his ilk, Raskin proffers the belief that nothing positive is ever to be said about Trump or his policies. He also wants nothing to do with anyone who engages with Trump in any positive way.
(Personally, I believe that Raskin’s strategy of being the constant critic – and undertaking the most extreme measures to “get Trump” – is the reason Democrats lost the election and why their favorable rating is an abysmal 23 percent in a recent CNN poll. But I digress.)
Until recently, Raskin focused his shaming tactic at domestic organizations and individuals who maintain a positive relationship with Trump in any way. In Raskin’s narrow-minded partisan world, there is no room for objectivity or bipartisanship. He is in a constant state of combat – and expects others to act accordingly.
Recently, Raskin’s political arrogance has gone to a new level. He is now threatening entire nations who might work cooperatively with Trump. You read that right. The congressman — one /435th of the House membership – is now demanding entire nations take up his never-Trump crusade. From his tiny legislative perch, Raskin is flashing the sword at the world community of nations – allies and adversaries alike.
His message is simple. If you cooperate with Trump, you will pay a price if and when Democrats return to power. Raskin said, “When we (Democrats) come back to power — and we will — are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated authoritarianism in our country.”
It is a universal threat. With the exception of El Salvador, Raskin does not name specific countries – or the issues that may cross the line in his mind. He does not say what retributions he would bestow on errant nations. If you work out a trade deal with Trump, would Raskin impose sanctions? Withhold humanitarian or military aid?
Raskin’s threats are meaningless since he has no power to implement them. He is the ant crawling up the Elephant’s leg with thoughts of rape.
But Raskin’s language is reckless. He purports to be a defender of constitutional democracy but proceeds to violate diplomatic traditions and constitutional restraints. It is arguable that he may have violated the Logan Act by engaging in foreign affairs against the interest of the United States government.
Raskin represents the malignant thinking of a band of extremist Democrats who want to divide the nation into pro-Trump and anti-Trump constituencies because that is the only battle they believe they can win – despite the fact that they lost the election using that strategy.
Fortunately, most Americans are not for or against Trump. They judge Trump and their political leaders issue by issue. Most Americans are currently expressing concern over Trump’s economic policies, but give him overwhelming support for his immigration and deportation actions. The majority of Americans disagree with Trump on abortion but agree with his opposition to men in women’s sports and locker rooms.
Many politicians and political analysts – on both sides — say that the problem with the current Democrat leaders is that they did not – and do not — listen to the people. That is why they lost. I agree. And Raskin and his kind are the primary advocates of the Democrats’ losing strategies. He does not listen. He maintains a closed mind and an open mouth.
Unfortunately for the Democratic Party, every time the more rational moderate voices arise, the Raskin types pound them into silence. The Maryland congressman could not be more helpful to Trump and the GOP if he were on the payroll at the Republican National Committee. So, there ‘tis.
Jamie, you are an EMBARRASSMENT TO MARYLAND AND THE USA. did the chemo you received FRY your brain ? Give it up knucklehead. So do us all a favor…slither back under your rock pile.
What! “Objective and bipartisan” wash your mouth out with strong soap. Larry when where you either of these. Your unwavering conservative perspective and never left Biase put you at odds with objective truth and democracy dependent bipartisan rule. Fortunately, you were never elected to Congress in either house. every bill proposed by you would die in committee and not make it out onto the floor.
What has you believing you would have any part in a compromise bill that’s truly bipartisan. Other Republicans who are sensibly moderate and able negotiators with Democrat members who you find detestable and unreasonable.
You are a never Raskin Republican and couldn’t find common ground where you could agree to disagree on anything. If a necessary, Budget bill came before you and neither side could agree on a bipartisan compromise and negotiations ended in a stalemate shutting down the Government. You would encourage the stalemate and say the Democrats were at fault and responsible for the shutdown.
You would vote to recess for the summer and have the Democrats take the heat.
As a congressman you better have a safe Red district behind you or you wouldn’t be returned to office.
As Red as Republicans get and recalcitrant in your opinion a stint in congress for you would be pure torture for you and an outcast among your caucus members.
I imagine it’s hard to hear personal assessments that are not flattering to your ego nor reinforce the high self -perception of yours which your bio seems to radiate. Maybe it’s the similarity in age that you share with The President, or it’s only coincidental for men of a certain age, but it’s unremarkable that you and DJT possess the personal characteristic identified as narcissistic. All human beings have some narcissism in their character like a self-preservative, but a little narcissism goes a long way in one’s mature and balanced personality. You. Larry, DJT, and let’s add Elon Musk have an excess of narcissistic self-importance that dominates your personality.
The demand that you are forever correct in perspective, opinion, and assessment no matter what the topic or person, or subject. On what you personally decide there is no debate allowed. your words are like unto the Laws of the Medes and Persians. Once written a law cannot be changed.
America’s Democratic Republic has laws that are codified and held constant but by the amendment process our laws are modified to current understandings. This modification is the result of negotiations and some compromises before an amendment can be ratified as law and stand with the original in legal use.
in cases where narcissism creates a ridged stiffness of will in the person the mind is made up on issues and no alteration or change is possible. I remember a person in my family relation who was among the first in the family to immigrate to the US and took with her the harshness of personality that her generation identified as and brought with them. Typical for her was the giving of orders to the younger family members of the second generation post immigration and born in the US. She would quell all descent or refusals with,’ I am the boss”. she stated her command emphatically and in her mother tongue. However, we knew better than refusing compliance as the consequences were legend in the family lore. I would call her dealings with others as narcissistic. She was always right in her own opinion without room for debate or compromise. Most of the relation did not try to get along with her and tended to steer clear of her because she could be very confrontational. sadly, she refused to learn English and stubbornly held to her own perceptions of this country’s ways and the younger generation’s unacceptable falling away from traditions and previous norms.
That great, great aunt whom I came to know in my youth and before she died didn’t understand why she became hard, unbending, rude, and impolite in most circumstances. When reading Larry’s commentaries and his comments written to those readers of PBP who elect to reply the impression Larry leaves is like the impression left by that great, great aunt from 60+ years ago. She came from a much different culture in the old country and was middle age or older at the time. With more compassion than many folks allowed my immediate family took her in and cared for her until her death. So don’t start with me on what makes a narcissist a narcissist. I see it in Larry’s behavior. Trump’s character and Musk’s, too, are defiantly narcissistic. These three men are the tip of s verry deep iceberg formation existing in our indulgent culture. In Trump’s instance his character flaws get explained away with “Trump is Trump”. it’s a stupid ignorant response in deed.
This is a fine example of two-faced hypocrisy that I would not expect to come from the mind of Horist. He has always been hard-right, but lately has gone full magarat. I am truly worried he has lost it. Here are two men, “rascal” Jamie and horny Larry, living the rare, early, unanticipated loss of a child and he can’t find a bond, compassion, or anything but distrust and disdain. His claims in this piece do not seem to reflect a number of his stated beliefs and many of his statements of fact just don’t pass the mirror test.
First, he claims TDS exists when he often writes that maladies not recognized by science are not real. He cries like a baby when he thinks someone is guessing what he thinks even when they quote him. But here, TDS is not only a real mental disease, but Dr. Larry can diagnose the patients. He also seems totally clueless to the constant, consistent Biden-bashing Trump 100 days past the election as if in Trump’s warped reality he is running against Biden still. Donny 2 Dolls, you won, it’s yours, act like it. The man even blamed Biden for the Trump-mandated recession being brewed by his own finger on the economy. Does that mean Biden brought the market back on Friday? He recently did a commencement speech at UofA where he berated Biden so much that many graduates came away with that being their future; a life of whining about adversaries instead of driving for the win-win. Trump takes policy complaints personally and then whacks at his adversary’s characteristics blasting their looks, ethnicity, birthplace, parents, wives, husbands, kids, whatever, while Horist totally ignores these same actions in this very story.
He says Jamie Raskin is a malignant thinker, a rascal, founder of the Trump Resistance Movement. Nice caps but there is no organization called the Trump Resistance Movement. Horist made that up, There’s a private facebook page with 50 members, hardly a movement. There’s X, and other social media platforms with people from all sides sharing info and ideas. And people sharing ideas in Congress as they should. Larry seems delusional on this one being as paranoid as Trump. You won Larry, you won, and only you will bring you down. Quit whining like a loser and act like a winner.
Jamie Raskin is an accomplished much in his life. Horist could only dream of operating at this level. Raskin is magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard College, BA in government, political theory concentration and then magna cum laude JD from Harvard Law School. Also an editor of the Harvard Law Review. For more than two decades, he was professor of Constitutional Law at AU; great school. He co-founded the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. For two years he was Jackson’s lawyer. He represented Perot before doing some MD state government work and then being elected to the MD Senate in 2006. He is educated, experienced, and yes, an activist for the Constitution which puts him at odds with Horist and Trump. You may not like his ideas, his policies, even the man, his religion, his Stevie bandana, but Horist cannot deny this man knows his stuff, and that stuff is the Constitution.
Let reader’s digest this: America was right to investigate Trump and Russia given the evidence. They couldn’t get the goods between their efforts and team Trump’s lying so Trump seems absolved. But oh the smoke, well beyond the famed Trump Tower meeting. Manafort worked with Russia to get Russian acolytes elected in Ukraine. Caputo too. Both Flynn and Manafort were working with Russian officials before Trump hired those skills. Kushner worked with Russians during the campaign and even set up back-door communication channels. Many went to jail for lying, many for other things, there were obvious crooks all around. Team Trump met with the Russians close to 100 times before the election; I still say something stinks it that. Why meet? No one else in history has ever met with any foreign country like this BEFORE being elected. Hey, he’s not guilty but he’s not innocent either. Plenty of reasons we were right to investigate. In the second impeachment, Trump was guilty of the very type of illegal coercion that Horist is talking about here. Republicans in the Senate would not convict. Trump attempted to coerce Zelensky on the “perfect phone call,” but come on, he was using money appropriated by Congress as a bribe to get the Z-man to dish dirt on Biden. You gotta believe that’s just not Kosher.
Trump, on the other hand, is a proven businessman and politician and convicted felon in both, as well as personal adjudications, many times over. He is also liable for sexual abuse, defamation, with penalties for many other evil actions like ripping off his university students, his own charity fund, and more. Trump’s felonies include cheating on business records, cheating on taxes, and paying off a porn star he had spanking sex with while Melanoma was out of commission due to birthing the Barron. He paid this money to void free speech by squelching a story that could have changed his election against Hillary. Do you see Hilary whining about this like Trump? Fuck, she’s more the man than he is. Trump also looks guilty of rigging the 2020 election in Georgia by way of a number of his lawyers already pleading guilty agreeing to testify against Trump IF this case ever makes it to court. While innocent until, on the facts, on the books, he looks cooked.
Jaimie is not a felon, has no convictions against him, has never been accused of cheating anyone, and it seems Larry has not a leg to stand on. Larry has a problem with his harsh words; I just see them as lawyer-room speak, braggadocio, fun stuff. I sometimes wonder about his verbal choices, feel he has let personality get in at times, but I really like the policies, professionalism, and acumen. Of course, I have TDS too, according to Larry and the other PBPsychiatrists . Matter of fact, Horist probably says anyone who says anything bad about Trump (unless it’s Ukraine, but I digress), has TDS, but let’s face it: Donny Two Dolls has eroded into grumpy grandpa having lost his grip on reality. Just like Horist maybe?
On Trump’s side, he is one of the hardest fighters in the game to lay a glove on. That too was Jamie’s mistake, thinking he got him. Trump has pulled more Lazarus maneuvers than any other businessman or politician. Clinton has him on the “float like a butterfly, sting like a bee,” but no one IMO escapes the noose, while on the gallows, rope around his neck, hangman’s hand on the lever, better than Trump. So, Jamie saying this is nice, but it’s actions that matter, and Horist has little clue what actions Jamie even intends. The next one is his Donny 2 Dolls statement telling Americans to live with less stuff at inflated prices. What other politician in American history could get away with that crap? Time will tell, but I am not giving odds to the Larry’s off the world thinking this is off base and stupid. Matter of fact, be careful of what you ask for as your supporters listen to you and start buying less. Heh, heh. Just deserts.
But, Jamie’s intent that “we will — are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated authoritarianism in our country” sure seems fucking-a-skippy to me no matter which party wants to pursue it. After all, Larry seems against political and governmental weaponization, so why not this?
Next, let’s go to the weird text.
As I said, much weirdness in this article with laments, weird things, bad jokes and bald lies way above Larry’s usual misgivings of fact. Not sure what’s going on, but sure seems off the beam.
Lament statement 1: “He was also a member of the January 6 (kangaroo) congressional committee.” Gee, what are you saying? Are you saying Congress should have passed on investigating the actions on 1/6? Have you seen Comer and Jordan over the past five years? How’s their track record given they have been at it fulltime, for over four years. How’s the Biden impeachment which started in June of 2023. Greene actually files an article of impeachment on day one of Biden’s Presidency, January 2021. How’s that going? But 1,500 people arrested, many felonies, cop beating, sedition, conspiracy and you say: “hands off Congress, let this evil be. Not like it was your house invaded. Oh wait, it was. Ours too. What a lament, weird too.
Weird statement 1: “Like all of his ilk, Raskin proffers the belief that nothing positive is ever to be said about Trump or his policies” where Larry is only positive to the other side, hahahaha. Gotta love a good “proffers” though,
Lie number 1: “He also wants nothing to do with anyone who engages with Trump in any positive way.” This is just not true except for how Larry does it in the mirror view. Apparently can’t remember McConnell’s words when Obama took office. Raskin has worked on the Free Speech Protection Act with Rep. Kevin Kiley, the STOP Suicide Act with Rep. Don Bacon, the Federal Press Shield Law with Jordan. Anyone can see he’s willing to work, to compromise, and unlike Larry, shows it in his deeds. Larry claims one or two Democrat friends, mostly from college I think, perhaps not.
Joke number 1: “(Personally, I believe that Raskin’s strategy of being the constant critic – and undertaking the most extreme measures to “get Trump” – is the reason Democrats lost the election and why their favorable rating is an abysmal 23 percent in a recent CNN poll. But I digress.) You betcha you digress. Try the mirror, read your own stories. By the by and I do not digress, the CNN poll was March 16, 2025 and scored 54% unfavorable for Dems. Same poll: 48% unfavorable for Repubs. Twas 29% favorable for Dems, 36% for Repubs. He should check Repubs feelings starting at the end of 2017: 29% favorable for one month, very close for many Trump polls. Gee, are you getting that feeling again yet? Trump’s approval is currently the lowest ever for any President since the 100-day marker has been calculated. Good joke Larry, guess the country has TDS (tired of don syndrome).
Weird statement 2: “In Raskin’s narrow-minded partisan world, there is no room for objectivity or bipartisanship.” Mirror, Larry. Mirror.
Weird statement 3: “When we (Democrats) come back to power — and we will — are not going to look kindly upon people who facilitated authoritarianism in our country” said Raskin. Apparently, Horist now disagrees with standing up against authoritarianism. Actually while he admits Raskin is powerless, that Horist has little clue what actions are intended, what countries or people might be targeted, he thinks the general idea of standing up against authoritarianism is bad because Raskin likes it, I guess. Weird with a beard.
Weird statement 4: “He is the ant crawling up the Elephant’s leg with thoughts of rape.” I just can’t touch the weird ming who would even envision such a picture. Totally strange. How horny is this guy to think about ant fucking? Sexually weird for a guy against transgender to be for interspecies sex.
Weird statement 5: “But Raskin’s language is reckless.” Mirror Larry. Mirror. Have you ever listened to Donny 2 Dolls speak lately?
Lie number 2: “Fortunately, most Americans are not for or against Trump.” You have got to be kidding, right? Maybe this is joke number 2.
Lately, the Felon King held his cabinet + one meeting where they went around the room sucking up to his supposed greatness. That’s 23 suck up messages in a row as Trump just smiles and nods. He may have been about to pass out from the oxygen being sucked out of the room via the Hoover actions of the zombie cabinet. I think they passed out oxygen whippets because the air was being depleting by all the sucking going on. I have been in many a boardroom and no mahogany row type would even let that go on. They would stay, “stop, thank you, that’ enough and let’s get down to business.” It was as weird as Larry’s story. But these grumpy grandpa’s gots to stick together. Donny 2 Dolls and …..nah, poor guy has been spanked enough.
Feel better soon Larry, this shit was beneath you and I hope it’s just the pain blocking the rational part of your mind. IMO this piece was well beneath your normal standards.
