Delaware Sued for Attacking First Amendment Rights of Pro-Life Groups

One thing the Democrats never learn is respecting the right of free speech for all. With maximizing the number of abortions as one of their top missions, blue states make censorship laws targeting the pro-life movement. The latest in this series of attacks on the free speech rights of pro-life groups comes from Delaware, the home state of Joe Biden.

On Sunday (February 16), Just the News reported that the pro-life non-profit A Door of Hope filed a First Amendment lawsuit against Delaware Attorney General Kathy Jennings. The lawsuit challenges a Delaware state law that selectively censors pro-life pregnancy centers. The law SB 300, signed in September last year and taking effect next month (March 2025), selectively applies “compelled speech requirements” only to pro-life pregnancy care centers. Thus the law in effect would force these centers to lie and it also bans their ads.

The story added that the DE law is very similar to a California law that was blocked by the Supreme Court following a legal challenge by the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA). Another such law passed in the blue state of Illinois was called “stupid and very likely unconstitutional” by a conservative judge, ending up in a settlement in December 2023. Vermont and New York have also targeted pro-life organizations through similar laws.

Since the infamous pro-abortion law Roe v. Wade of 1973 was overturned in June 2022 by the conservative Supreme Court, legislation rights on abortion have been returned to the states. On Friday (February 21), LifeSite News reported new research by Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health, which found that the overturning of Roe led to the birth of over 22,000 more babies in 14 states that restricted abortion. The story added:

The number of babies saved doesn’t include those born in 2024 or 2025, nor does it take into account more recent abortion bans in several states, such as Indiana, Florida, Iowa, and South Carolina, meaning that the total figure is likely much higher.

Meanwhile, the Democrats continue to fight abortion laws in red states via lawsuits as well as putting the abortion issue on the ballot in every election cycle. The past week, Florida Politics reported that Democrat lawmakers in the Florida State Senate filed a bill – SB 870 – to replace the state’s current abortion ban of six weeks with up to 6 months into pregnancy. The move, likely to fail in the Republican-led legislature, comes after the Democrats failed to get enough public votes in November 2024 to overturn the state law restricting abortion after six weeks into pregnancy.

This Pakistani has little clue as to what a Democrat is.

As the fractured disciple of Jefferson, he is all tough words from a weak guy. He talks it up, but has probably never thrown a punch, picked up a gun, or even had a slap fight with his little friends.

As a disciple of Madison, I say — bite me. “maximizing the number of abortions as one of their top missions” is just a totally ridiculous piece of make believe with no foundation in either fact or fantasy except in the The Dumpster’s polluted, corrupt mind.

So, what’s your point Marty. Clearly, you are not sure what the article is about. Your comment has nothing that agreed or disagrees with the author’s hypothesis
Apparently, you have no idea how LBJ affected the lives of Black people from his time and to the present day.
Recall what Larry Horist contends in his commentary that included LBJ’s contribution to the Civil Rights movement in the mid-60’s , Larry referenced his own book for proof and that’s good enough.
Delegating fellow commenters on the present article without mention of the article’s content as justification for bullying is unjustified, but unfortunately it all too common in this space.
Ethics be damned and morals be subjective, that being the code on PBP from its promised conservative prospective. True to form is the total absence of context and historical setting.
As in a court case, the witness for the prosecution when cross examined by the defense attorney repeatedly says ” in my opinion”. No matter if the witness happens to be an “expert” on whatever they testify. An opinion falls short of actual evidence of a fact or the facts that prove beyond a doubt one way or the other.
Marry, your opinion carries no weight But, don’t feel bad or take offense. Neither your’s, mine, Frank Danger’s, Tom’s, Dick’s, or Harry’s opinions carry any weight. Although, their comments contain facts and common sense wisdom. Those of the conservative perspective opine and the readers are to assume what they write is true and factual proof.
What may be of interest to readers could be the opinions of PBP writers, but as with all other opinions one is wise to consider the source. In doing so, it’s critical that one thinks about testing opinions against the true context in which found material evidence is set. Opinions are not proof of anything pertaining to the issue, subject, or possible consequence a writer contends in the body of an article.
It’s what I’d meant when we say “take it with a grain of salt. Therefore, considering the source, what is the worth of an opinion story? It’s not that complicated,
Commonsense says, confirm for true facts from objective sources.
Now, the current POTUS claims the basis for his proclamations is his own common sense views. As it turns out he himself believes his sense is uncommon and more tuned to reality than all others senses combined. This is fact for him and justifies all actions initiated by him. For is he not POTUS the primary authority in the land?
He sees himself on his high horse in command of all he sees as his.
How unAmerican, anti democracy, and unconstitutional is his presumption of more authority than allowed any POTUS before this and a dangerous president for those who follow. Presuming there is an America and legally elected President’s after Trump’s reign of destruction has gone it’s run.
