AOC Slams Israeli Lobbying Group for Spending in New Jersey Primary

AOC Slams Israeli Lobbying Group for Spending in New Jersey Primary

De facto leader of the far-left Squad Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made no secret of her pro-Hamas anti-Israel stance. Now AOC – sharply criticized the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) on Friday, saying the pro-Israel lobby undermines democracy, Anadolu reports.

“I hope Dems begin to see that moderate or progressive, AIPAC is not our friend,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote on X.

She accused the group of backing Jan. 6 insurrectionists while pressuring elected officials to ignore US laws, including the Leahy laws that prohibit assistance to foreign forces committing human rights abuses.

“They are a right-wing organization that undermines democracy,” she said.

“They have zero tolerance for any diversity of thought from their line, and pressure elected officials to increasingly place themselves at odds with our responsibility to represent the electorate and the views of the majority of Americans, who find the genocide in Gaza an appalling affront to American values and do not want to see US taxpayer funded weapons used to perpetuate it,” she added.

Her remarks came in response to reports that AIPAC’s the United Democracy Project (UDP), spent $1.9 million to defeat former Rep. Tom Malinowski in the Democratic primary in New Jersey, while indirectly supporting “moderate” candidate Tahesha Way.

However, even mainstream Democrats have joined AOC in tossing shade at AIPAC, saying that their $2 million may have handed the race to progressive Analilia Mejia.

“It’s pissing people off,” said Steve Schale, a longtime Democratic strategist and former Obama campaign adviser, who described it as “maddening.”

The organization spent heavily through its super PAC, Unite Democracy Project, to attack former Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-N.J.), a pro-Israel moderate who would not support unconditional aid to Israel. In doing so, it provided an opening to Analilia Mejia, a progressive organizer backed by Bernie Sanders who has said Israel committed genocide in Gaza.

AIPAC’s interventions in the New Jersey special election for Democratic Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s House seat was the first test of the group’s muscle ahead of the 2026 primary season, when they are expected to spend millions on Democratic primaries across the country. AIPAC’s super PAC is expected to weigh in on House primaries, starting in Illinois’ March primaries. Democratic candidates and strategists are also bracing for them to potentially wade into contentious Senate primaries in Michigan and Minnesota.

Malinowski said AIPAC’s attacks on him sent a clear message to “other mainstream Democrats.”

“They are now demanding 100 percent fealty,” Malinowski said. “On some level, they may have preferred to elect an anti-Israel progressive versus a mainstream Democrat, who departs from their hard line in a small way.”

Bill totally misreads AOC as: “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made no secret of her pro-Hamas anti-Israel stance.” Nice picture Bill, great demonization without correlation much less causation, stooping low to gain favor on PBP? BUSTED: you are not even close to AOC’s stance on Israel, HAMAS, GAZA, or pro-Palestinian protestors in America. Not even close.

In reality, AOC has repeatedly labeled Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide and apartheid, specifically citing the blockade of humanitarian aid and the resulting famine as evidence of intent. This does not make her antisemitic or pro-Hamas. I can find no AOC condemnation of Judaism or Hamas support except in the collective right-wing mind like Bill’s. Amazingly, he claims she makes no secret of her pro-Hamas anti-Israel stance which I guess the boy can back up, no problem. But he won’t because he can’t.

She consistently advocates for a suspension of offensive military aid and the enforcement of the Leahy Laws, which prohibit sending weapons to forces committing gross human rights violations. AOC differentiates between “offensive” munitions and “defensive” systems like the Iron Dome. In July 2025, she voted against an amendment to strip Iron Dome funding, arguing that removing defensive capabilities would only increase the death count of innocent civilians without stopping the offensive campaign. Bill, she freaking voted to fund the Iron Dome. She has been a proponent of a permanent ceasefire since shortly after the October 7, 2023, attacks, while also calling for the release of all hostages.

Let’s be frank: AOC’s STATED stands on the Israeli retribution campaign are condemnation of military actions (you know, peace?), Arms Embargo favoring the Leahy Laws (you know, no weapons for human rights violators), Defense vs. Offense spending (you know, she voted for Iron Dome funding), Ceasefire and Hostage release (Bill, you gotta problem with that?). Bill, it appears you don’t know her stand, her votes, just the spew slobbering forth from those she stands against. IE – you drank the Kool-Aid.

On AIPAC, again, let’s be frank: she is a frequent target of AIPAC because she has called the “NRA of foreign policy” due to its influence on U.S. policy. That’s an accolade for their results, but she does not like their message. AIPAC throws the antisemitism card faster than Democrats call Trump a racist pig. I am in that camp for AIPAC (and Trump, but that’s another story featuring his long history and gorilla fascination, but I digest), not because of AOC, but because I respect the NRA’s results being fairly insignificant in numbers, dollars, etc. but a laser like focus on their goals, highly effective strategy and tactics, and ability to punch way up from its weight class. The difference is NRA does it for the 2A and Americans that support it. AIPAC does it for Israel and those that support it, foreign and domestic. It can only accept donations from Americans, but it’s the top 2% funding this thing, mostly American Jews who love Israel and, really, there is no way to tell where their money for this comes from. And AIPAC does not tell and the law does not mandate it. .

If nothing else, this shows how we need to have these folks disclose donors so Americans can “follow the money” that’s being used to sway our votes. They are classified as a (501(c)(4) meaning a Social Welfare Organization, a Congressional weasel worded mission in that: is Israel considered a social mission? Is it American? Or are they saying Israel’s well-being affects the well-being of Americans?
Also, they cannot have direct or indirect participation or intervention in political campaigns on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office. BUT wait, there’s more. A 501(c)(4) social welfare organization may engage in some political activities, so long as that is not its primary activity. Ain’t Congress a grand plain-speaking lawmaking kind of grand? Yeah, that’s some weasel wording there. This is true for all 501(c)(4)’s, not just AIPAC, showing how Congress really sucks sometimes at making laws. There ought to be a law!

One thing is true. AOC is right on this, she’s spot on; these AIPAC shits messed in NJ politics on behalf of Israel, not NJ, and they lost this time. Next time we will see them coming. Let me be frank: I support the Jewish faith, I have lived with Jews, dated Jews, I have worked for Jews, I have seen more Mitzvah’s that many Rabbi’s, I want to support Israel, but their actions in what is now the retribution war on GAZA violate human rights as they commit one war crime after another. Many of the Jews I still know agree with that sentiment. Right now, in GAZA, Israel is genocidal in nature and we should use our funding to make a difference, an improvement in the health, wealth, and future of GAZA for the Palestinians.

One other thing is true: America needs to kick the big bucks out of politics. We should not let the Musk’s of the world control the people’s politics. Kill Citizen’s United, PACs and Super PACS. It’s up to the people make this so; most politicians act in their own self-interest here and would rather take their chances to shill for the big bucks with strings attached than be forced to play on a level playing field with the only strings being the people. Both parties. They will never do want the people want for funding. We have one man, one vote. All men created equal. Make funding equal for all men too. Just set the bar at the lowest level that anyone can reasonably reach and that’s the funding amount for all politicians running for office. Or set a level, tax to that level, and take the funding from the tax coffers where we all pay, or not, equally.

Some spedifics: Hochul, AOC, Mamdani slam ‘we support Hamas’ chants at Queens protest: ‘Disgusting and antisemitic’ FOX news 1/2026.

Criticizing a pro-Palestinian rally held in Times Square in New York City in the aftermath of Hamas attacks on Israel which left hundreds dead, the progressive congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said: “It should not be hard to shut down hatred and antisemitism where we see it.” The Guardian 10/2023

“Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Sunday defended accusing Israel of genocide against the Palestinian people and advocating for cuts to US military aid until humanitarian relief flows freely in Gaza. Her decision to use the term genocide, as she did during a floor speech on Friday in the House chamber, was “taken with extraordinary gravity,” she said.” “While she has openly condemned the violence in Gaza amid Israel’s war against Hamas, Ocasio-Cortez has typically been cautious about labeling Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians as genocide — a distinction in line with her tendency to use more conciliatory rhetoric on Israel than some of her ideological allies. But the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza has “crossed the threshold of intent,” Ocasio-Cortez told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.” “As we speak, in this moment, 1.1 million innocents in Gaza are at famine’s door,” Ocasio-Cortez said in her speech Friday. “A famine that is being intentionally precipitated through the blocking of food and global humanitarian assistance by leaders in the Israeli government.” CNN 3/2024

Bear in mind, AOC is not alone in this: South Africa filed a case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ)) against Israel’s genocidal acts. UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese, and organizations like Amnesty International, Genocide Watch, and the Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention all have stated the same. Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, Médecins Sans Frontières, and the Lemkin Institute have described Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocidal. The ICJ ruled in January 2024 that claims of genocide by Israel in Gaza were “plausible,” requiring Israel to take measures to prevent such actions: Israel demurred with US support.

I am not an AOC, or any progressive supporter, but I do respect her as a quick learner of life inside the beltway. My vote on NYC’s new mayor is still open depending on his actions in office. But all the rest, meh. AOC is smart, learns fast, and you guys, in your special way, have made her relevant to many in your quest to paint targets on people’s asses so you can have your demons. Way to go, Bill.

Frankie. What happened to you when you graduated grade school…….or did you graduate? It may have been that you have not graduated from anything in your lifetime as of yet. Paragraph after paragraph with nothing but undocumented, left wing, gibberish. yup, graduated from nothing useful but a misguided life, centered on your own narratives. Best of luck on your pursuit of happiness in this life, Frankie.
