Scaramucci Out After 11 Days

White House Communications Chief Anthony Scaramucci has resigned his position, only hours after new Chief of Staff John Kelly was sworn in.  Press Secretary Sara Huckabee said Scaramucci felt it was best to give Kelly a clean slate and the ability to build his own team.

Scaramucci’s recent interview with a New Yorker reporter was likely a factor, where he called then chief of staff Reince Preibus “a f—King paranoid schizophrenic.” A John Kelly staff will likely be more disciplined in a military fashion, a characteristic that would be difficult for Scaramucci to maintain.

“Gen. Kelly has the full authority to operate within the White House, and all staff will report to him,” said press secretary Sara Huckabee.  When pressed further whether staffers including Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump and Steve Bannon will all report to Kelly, Sanders said: “That includes everybody at the White House.”

On Scaramucci’s departure, Huckabee said, “The President certainly felt that Anthony’s comments were inappropriate for someone in that position and he didn’t want to burden Gen. Kelly also with that line of succession.”

It is unclear at this point if Scaramucci will return to the ExIm Bank but according to Huckabee, he will have no continued role with the Trump Administration.
