Congress joins cat fight entertainment

Congress joins cat fight entertainment

Before the woke folks get their political correctness genes going off like a fire alarm, they should know that the formal definition of “cat fight” is a heated contest between women.

By definition, that is exactly what we saw on Capitol Hill during a hearing of the House Oversight Committee.  In case you are just coming out of a coma, you may not have seen one of the many the top-of-the-news reports about mean girls in action.

It started when Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene implied that Democrat Representative Jasmine Crockett did not understand the subject by saying, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”

That caused Democrat Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to go ballistic and inject herself with a bit of overreaction – turning an admittedly inappropriate comment into an overcharged …  uh … cat fight.  In her best elevated scolding voice AOC jumped in with, “THAT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. HOW DARE YOU ATTACK THE PHYSICAL APPEARANCE OF ANOTHER PERSON!

Greene responded patronizingly,” Are your feelings hurt?”

To which AOC rejoined, “Oh girl.  Oh, baby girl.”

Greene responded, “Oh, really?

AOC: “Don’t even play!”

Greene: “Baby girl?”

When the Committee took a pass on formally censuring Greene, Crockett entered the fray saying, “I’m just curious.  If someone on this Committee just starts talking about somebody’s beach blond bad build butch body …”  (WHAT! … a “bad build butch body”?)

Female voice, “We’re not going to do this like you guys earlier … literally … “

Crockett (screaming): “I’m trying to get clarification.  I’m trying to get clarification.”

Greene: “Look it … Look it … calm down.”

Crockett: “No. No. No.  Because this is what we all do.”  (Is Crockett saying that this is what girls do?)

Tempers finally cooled enough to carry on with the business of the Committee, although none of the requested apologies were given.

Congress has now joined bikini mud fights and women’s wrestling as female entertainment.  While many of the pompous newsies spun the verbal cat fight as an event with great political meaning, others saw it for what it was – a distraction … entertainment … even funny.

It had nothing to do with policies, issues or the purpose of the hearing – which was the question as to whether Attorney General Merrick Garland should be charged with Contempt of Congress for not providing the audio tapes of President Biden’s deposition in conjunction with his improper (illegal?) possession of top-secret government documents.

Instead, we got a girlie fight … a cat fight … over eyelashes and bleach blond hair.  The comment that stood out the most to me was Crockett’s referral to Greene’s “bad butch build.”  Whoa!  That wreaks of homophobia and pejorative stereotyping.  That should have set off the woke, political correctness, identity politics gestapo.  But noooo!  Methinks if a Republican had said that it would have been the highlight (or is it lowlight?) of all the left-wing news reports.

If the American electorate was not so evenly divided – and the political rhetoric not so red hot this season – this episode might have gotten a modest mention near the end of a broadcast or buried on an inside page of your favorite newspaper — for one day.

Like any cat fight – or bar fight – blame is impossible to place.  Yes, Greene kicked it off is a childish insult that could have just been blown off with an admonition from the chair.  It was AOC who elevated the exchange to a full-scale cat fight with here “baby girl” retort.  And then it spread to Crockett with her own childish contributions to the cat fight.  Personally, I am not taking sides in the fight.  I am not a fan of any of those girls.

We should also keep in mind that Congress is notorious for heated exchanges – even physical violence between members on occasion.  However, they are usually precipitated by issue disagreements – not eyelashes and dyed blond hair. And definitely not by reference to “bad butch bodies.”

While various political stakeholders are trying to infuse great partisan meaning into a classic cat fight, I believe most Americans are laughing at the exchange as political theater of the farce variety.  The only things missing were the bikinis and the mud – oh yeah, and hair pulling.

So, there ‘tis.

Gonna be a hot summer eh Larry?

    Can’t wait for Chicago.

Or the NY does-not-matter trial to be completed. I bet it does matter to someone.

How about the Trump VP wannabees in matching uniforms in NYC sucking up to Trump. The speaker, evangelist lawyer turned politician, supporting a sexual abusing, business cheating, whore banger on the ground and spending our tax dollars to do so. The pic of these clowns is priceless. Just needs the tagline: power corrupts. Idiots did not talk about the job with the last guy almost killed-on-duty.

Yup, gonna be a hot summer. MTG, AOC —– tip of the iceberg.

You got it right Frank! They all looked like a bunch of clowns! Red tie minions!

What does concern me is that this is the party that claims to operate according to the rule of law. The GOP can no longer make that claim since they went to NY to obstruct the law, defame the law, influence a jury, and spread lies. All the while ignoring the people’s business to defend their criminal candidate and suck up to the puppet master in hopes to be by his side on the ticket. Very sad!

      • Jim wampler

So go suck up to your retard and h communist party. Frank and Tom should get a room.

        • frank stetson

Wampler always with the gay taunt, he’s always talking about gay stuff, he seems to really like the gay stuff. He has no factual retort, no discussion points, just tries to taunt folks by calling them gay. This time he adds the communist part when he votes for a guy who has a member of the communist party living at Mar A Loser in his cabana. Melania’s father is a member of the party, he’s a communist party member and he lives with them. Right next to the top secret documents. But Wampler he no likey the facts, he likes to talk gay stuff instead.

    Boring!!!

This article gets a Stop The Spin rating of STS-1. Here is why:

    1) Article facts are basically correct but the article fails to mention the GOP committee chairman that could not bring the committee hearing under control. This is another example of GOP inability to govern or get anything done, not to mention that they needed their speaker Johnson (who is a big dick) saved by Dems, and then that same speaker went to NY to interfere with the rule of law so Trump could violate by proxies his gag order. Sad. Real sad. And all they did was speak lies. GOP has become the party of lies and spin. And what is even more sad is that they did not bother telling Dems they were checking out and going on a trip to NY and would not be present to hold an important vote on people’s business.

Tom … You are still with us … and full of pompous bs as ever. I see you were sucked into the red tie uniform crap spewed by leftwing media. Think it was Rachel Maddow that got that false report going. You love facts? Check out the pics. There was no uniformity among ties. One pic gives that impression because it does not include the entire group. A couple wore plain red ties. There were two reddish pattern tie. One with some red and other colors in a slanted patters. One purple tie and the speaker had a mostly blue and red slanted tie. What you see — or did not see — was a bunch of members wearing traditional ties of various kinds. Hardly a uniform. You are gullible to a little political gaslighting. Using your silly scale, the uniform tie narrative gets a 5.. And there was your usual opening claim that Frank (Waldorf to your Statler) is right. LOL I look forward to Frank’s characteristically hysterical mendacious (<– Frank loves that word.) reply. And your pompous scolding response. It makes my day. LOL

      • Frank stetson

Horist; red is red. You would make the same claim if tables turned. But loved the picture of you with your magnifying glass running your visual analysis to show us that red is not alway red.

I’d say “angels on the head of a pin,” but there were no angels there, no believers in our rule of law, courts, or our citizen jurors. Just Trumplicants like Horist willing any cost to win. Halley votes Trump. Rubio votes Trump. McConnell votes Trump. Brownshirts all. These boys have no balls. Heard you have to bitch-shoot a dog to be VP, that leaves Johnson out. That bitch don’t hunt, it can’t even bark. Fucking evangelical standing behind a whore banging sexual abuser.

Yup, gonna be a scorcher all right.

And yes, Frank, Waldo, pompous, mendacious, you missed plethora. Seems like the pugnacious prick is getting a bit soft in his retorts, or maybe just in his head.

        • larry Horist

Frank Stetson … LOL Just as I predicted. Hysterical, mendacious and as wrong as usual. A tantrum with a measure of leftwing Tourette’s Syndrome for color. You obviously have found the child in you. LMAO

  4. Darren

When have the Democrat’s EVER STOPPED doing what you say the Republicans are now doing?

    • Frank stetson

Darren. Answer: whenever you look at the facts. The rubber/glue defense you so weakly make never holds up.

      • Jim wampler

Darren you should know by now that Frank is a lying piece of shit

        • Frank stetson

Oh, I am in tears. Wampler has shot me down by having no facts and lots of names.

He can’t prove any lies. Just tilts at windmills.
