Abuse of Power? The Ethics of Bragg’s Charges Against Trump

Hate to say it, but I just recently binged watched the series Billions. This is a show where fictional U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades is doggedly looking for some way, any way, to convict billionaire Bobby Axelrod of a crime.  Even though I know (part of the story line) that Axelrod is thoroughly guilty of a lot of crimes, I’m appalled at the lack of ethics of TV character Rhoades and his team, whose goal is not to prosecute an existing crime but rather to put Axelrod in jail by any means. They attempt to entrap him, they destroy the lives of “lesser” people, blackmail people, and create a swath of damage and harm in pursuit of this single goal.

The underlying mantra for Rhoades always seems to be “I am the law, everything I do is for the pubic good” – no matter what, it appears. This arrogance leads to abuses far more egregious than anything Axe had ever done.

But this is fiction, not real life, correct?

I can’t help seeing the parallel here with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Bragg is one of those George Soros elected prosecutors. According to Fox News commentators, he has sworn that he would never prosecute a misdemeanor and has made it his business to reduce felonies to misdemeanors.

The “crime” allegedly committed by Trump is a misdemeanor in the State of New York. And according to Bill Barr, for it to rise even to this level, someone would have had to be defrauded, which is not the case here. And the statute of limitations for such in New York is 2 years – the alleged “crime” happened about 8 years ago. The U.S. Attorney, the Federal Election Commission and even Bragg himself have declined to prosecute this case. Experts say that nobody really would.

And yet according to media reports, the indictment coming for Donald Trump will contain more than 30 different charges. 30? Really?  I’m wondering what these charges would even be.  Bookkeeping Error? Conspiracy to commit Bookkeeping Error? Conspiracy to conspire to commit Bookkeeping Error?

Could it be in the prosecutor world that you throw that many charges at someone, not because they are actually guilty of something, but rather to make their defense more complex and expensive?  Or maybe just to convince the media that the party is guilty, or to coerce the defendant into making a deal.

A key witness will be Michael Cohen, a small player who has been crushed by Democrat-led prosecutors, sentenced to jail time of 3 years for tax evasion and more.  Does anyone honestly think he would not say or do anything the Democrats tell him?

So let’s theorize about some abuses of power by Bragg.

1. Bragg is targeting Trump, his goal is to damage him politically, not to right a wrong, not to enforce the law.

2. Bragg has inflated the charges for mere effect, knowing that most charges are not even relevant. This is not just to make the defense more complex, but to convince the liberal media that he is serious.

3. Bragg is forcing Michael Cohen to testify.  Why would Cohen do such a thing, otherwise?  Is it part of a deal that kept him out of even more jail time?  Did he embellish the story to get himself a better deal? One thing about blackmail and torture (as I heard in my CIA days), your victim will tell you whatever you want to hear.

4.  This is politically coordinated, Bragg did not make this decision on his own.  He is likely working on orders from higher up, could be the Soros organization, or the Biden Administration. Bragg has subordinated his sworn duty to uphold the law to political expediency.

Let me say that last thing again.

Bragg has subordinated his sworn duty to uphold the law to political expediency.

Can you think of any more dangerous abuse of power than that?

“Hate to say it,” really means I can’t wait to tell you…… Trust me, I know…. (like I really expect you to trust me :>) “I can’t help seeing the parallel here with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg” as Joe links fiction with reality as good Trumplicants are prone to do. After all, what’s reality to a Trumplicant….. Joe thinks the 1.6.2021 Republican Insurrection to Steal the 2020 Vote is tourists-gone-wild is fictional video too……

Avoiding original thought again, Joe boldly copies his demigod and states: “Bragg is one of those George Soros elected prosecutors.” Oh Joe, did you even bother to look it up before you cut n pasted from the blogosphere? Soros has never given a buck to Bragg’s campaign. He has never talked to Bragg, he has never met Bragg.

There is a financial connection. Soros donated, as he has for decades, to liberal activist groups who endorses progressive prosecutors while supporting fixing the criminal justice system that you, yourself, admit is broken. Soros has done this well before Donald J. Trump hit the political stage. Soros is a liberal, he gives money to liberal causes. Get over it because he did not directly fund Bragg. He has never met Bragg. He has never talked to Bragg on the phone, texted him, or even sent an email.

The group used Soros money for Bragg’s 2021 election which was given to the group, but NOT to Bragg. The group DID NOT donate to Bragg’s campaign directly either but used the money for direct mailers, street-level campaigning and getting out the vote. Only half of the Soros donation went to Bragg, they didn’t even spend the donation all on Bragg or even mostly on Bragg. It represented a mere 11% of the group’s activities for that election cycle. Joe could have seen all of this in Open Secrets if he bothered to move beyond FOX and the blogosphere.

Bragg has said he would not prosecute certain misdemeanors, not all misdemeanors as Joe mistakenly tells you and I have not a clue what Joe means about turning felonies into misdemeanors — love to hear more about that weirdness. I am sure Joe has those facts, wink-wink, nudge-nudge. Probably heard it somewhere.

As to the rest: perhaps Joe should shove this all up his ass to use on a later date like when the actual charges are revealed rather than just whipping it out before she even says yes. You know: TUESDAY when you would actually have a clue as they actually reveal the actual charges.

“I’m wondering what these charges would even be,” but let me tell you why they are all wrong….

And Joe also already knows Cohen is a witness, something that Cohen does not know. I am hoping for it since it might liven up what promises to be a real snore, as in boring. Really want Stormy to testify; I want to hear the sex stuff. That would be titillating. I heard there’s spanking involved. Also jello and a plastic pool. Ropes n cuffs too, maybe leather. Got those tidbits from a similar blogosphere like Joe used for this story.

After Joe admits he knows nothing, he still goes for “…let’s theorize about some abuses of power by Bragg” because he doesn’t know the charges therefore, how can he know the abuses?

Based on Joe’s level of evidence not apparent which sets the incredibly low benchmark for discussion, let me tell you how Trump conspired, colluded, and cheated with Russia in the 2016 election to defraud the nation and steal the election from Hillary Clinton who won the popular vote because Donald J. Trump is too unpopular to win any vote. Always has been.

You only had to wait until Tuesday Joe to make this a real story…

Frank, to be rambling that much, I think you must have gone back to drinking again. You say it wasn’t Soros money and then you go on to explain that it was.

Turning felonies into misdemeanors means that a person committed a felony but is only charged with a misdemeanor. Was that hard to understand?

And do you honestly think Cohen does not know that he is a witness? The rest of the country (except for you) already knows this, it has been talked about for several years now. Yes, years.

I think you should start your own web site and then argue with the 2 or 3 people who would read it.

  2. frank stetson

“I think you must have gone back to drinking again.” It’s OK, we already know of your delusions, what’s one more. Are you still taking your blue bill, you ole softy?

You also said he swore he would not prosecute any misdemeanors; that’s a lie. He qualified some misdemeanors he would pass on. At least you sourced FOX, who is about to go down for lying about Dominion, but you believe them. But it’s a lie. Then you said he would turn felonies to misdemeanors, which you stupidly repeated in your response. This means he would not prosecute these felonies either because you said he does not prosecute misdemeanors. That’s a lie too. Funny that you were too stupid to figure that out. So, yeah, I questioned wtf you were trying to say, seems prudent enough. You just copy and paste this stupid blogosphere shit without even questioning the basic lunacy of your premise so why not question?

“And do you honestly think Cohen does not know that he is a witness?” No one knows what the charges are, much less a witness list. Only an ignorant fool would claim absolutes like you do. Like I said, we are hoping for Cohen to lighten the moment of boredom, but no one knows. The fact that you lie and say the entire country knows is just you being you. The entire country does not even know who Michael Cohen is.

“I think you should start your own web site and then argue with the 2 or 3 people who would read it.” I do have a site, try it, it’s http://www.shoveitupyourass.com. But why bother, I already have more readers than you — here. And really, talking down to backwater, small pond, websites seems a bit like talking outta both sides of your face.

Facts are our friends Joe, you have yet to learn that. You put SOROS up as the devil, “Bragg is one of those George Soros elected prosecutors” which, as I showed, is yet another lie. And once again, your evidence is “everyone knows it” level of support. You are so afraid of SOROS, that’s just funny. Yes, there is a financial connection, it is indirect, the men have never been in contact with each other —- he’s hardly a SOROS elected prosecutor as you say. He ran on $2M; your guy spent over $12M. SOROS did not fund him directly and he had little campaign money at all compared to your guy who lost because you suck, your policies suck, not because of SOROS. SOROS funded a group that funded a direct mailer — do you really think that makes him SOROS-elected-prosecutor? The group had been doing mailers for years. Soros had been donating for years. The group endorsed Bragg. The group got money from SOROS, a portion of which was used for Bragg’s mailers, the rest was used for other candidates. That’s what the group does. NOT SOROS. You’re scared of shadows. You try to scare others with your shadows. The group had been getting money from SOROS for years; there was nothing special in it for Bragg, that was up to the group, not SOROS. So, your thought that SOROS got him elected is BUSTED.

BUT — you ignore my point that your entire premise of your entire tirade is pure conjecture since the charges have not been unsealed yet. Even the “30” charge total is not known, could be more, could be less, probably is. And yes, there’s the rumor of a felony. Since all felonies turn into misdemeanors and all misdemeanors are forgiven, at least that’s what you say about Bragg —- what’s all the fuss about anyhow’s?

Just file this one with your story how the Yankee’s take the 2024 series by being backed by SOROS because he has a box……

    • Joe Gilbertson

Frank, you are a typical Democrat, you talk in circles, gaslight constantly and you are an angry drunk. Instead of arguing with more data, you just say the same things louder.

I think your new website will be a hit, especially in the gay community, and you may indeed get more readers than me (way more if you include pictures…).

  3. frank stetson

Joe, you can’t stick to the issues for love nor money. And when you can’t argue the facts, you go for the man. And then you allude to gays liking my stuff and something about pictures. Is there a facet of your life you want to disclose? Coming out? Although, unlike you, I would not think less of you for it. (mostly because at this point, I can’t think any less about you)

I am most certainly, not a typical Democrat as you continue to bully, badger, and spread bullshit. Again, without a fact to save your life.

“Instead of arguing with more data, you just say the same things louder.” At least I use actual data rather than the blogosphere rumors and swags that you traffic in.

“angry drunk?” Says the guy who knows. You’re showing what looks like a frustrated, nasty, little man who demeans himself by demeaning others to make himself feel better. You just lower yourself with your weakness. You can’t make a cogent argument, so you blast away hoping it will distract people from noticing the emperor has no clothes.

I responded to your story that is a premature ejaculation of real news as you whack off once again. Get some real facts Joe. Tell some real stories. This one, and you, are BUSTED.

Maybe see you Tuesday; I might take a trip across the river to be there. That’s when the actual news that you report will be actual news, not the manure you spread.

Let us know IF you EVER want to discuss actual issues in a professional manner. Not this useless banter of a personal nature, your stock and trade.

    • Joe Gilbertson

Frank, you are doing it again, maybe next iteration you will type in ALL CAPS to make it even louder. And it appears that you are writing appropriately for your new “explicit news” site.

  4. frank stetson

Oh Joe, how low can you go. But again, no facts again, demeaning rhetoric again. “explicit news?” I see you fit in well with the Trimp fantasy world. You got nothing to add.

    WHATEVER.

    Next stop, Georgia!

    • Joe Gilbertson

Frank, you said that was your website, I’m just taking what you said at face value. Your personal life is your own business.

      • frank stetson

Let us know IF you EVER want to discuss actual issues in a professional manner. Not this useless banter of a personal nature, your stock and trade.

If I say “shove it up your ass,” and you conclude this is a message to the gay community, whatever, that’s your peccadillo to deal with.

Still ready to debate the issue of why Bragg being the the bag with SOROS is a reality or just a figment of your conspiracy ridden brain. Also how a man who won’t prosecute misdemeanors and waves his magic gavel to make felonies into misdemeanors which you say he will not prosecute actually presents any Trumpian problem whatsoever. Sounds like mission accomplished to me. Or inane stupidity from the author you plagiarized from.

        • Joe Gilbertson

Frank, why do you keep saying such vulgar stuff? Are you trying to market your gay site through the comment section here? And why do you keep capitalizing Soro’s name?

          • frank stetson

Let us know IF you EVER want to discuss actual issues in a professional manner. Not this useless banter of a personal nature, your stock and trade.

But to answer your banal personal-attack questions one more time:
            1. because I am bored with the personal stuff and would rather discuss the issues you are avoiding
            2. I have no site, much less a gay site, since I do not swing that way, Not sure why it’s such a fixation for you.
            3. Because I know using SOROS scares you like all bogymen do.

I see now where you do not understand shove it up your ass and believe that’s something gay. Actually, the term shove it up your ass is derived from Marlowe in Elizabethan times alluding to Edward II being murdered by a hod rod in a bad place. It is most certainly not something enjoyed in the gay community.

It appears that you have harped on the gay part because you find it demeaning to me which sort of indicates that you find gays to be less than human, demeaning, and not equal to you. But when I say shove it up your ass, be sure I am not talking gay, asking for a date, etc. but really I am saying shove it up your ass.

Hope that clarifies. And while almost fun, I would rather discuss the issues in you are up to it. You can begin by supporting all those things I noted as not correct.

            SOROS and out.

On number 2, appropriate, let me clarify this since you are having such issues.
            1. You said: ““I think you should start your own web site…..” and some other demeaning stuff to which, I said:
            2. ” I do have a site, try it, it’s http://www.shoveitupyourass.com,” which was a lame joke telling you to shove it up your ass, which means you should shove it up your ass to which you said:
            3. ” you are a typical Democrat, you talk in circles, gaslight constantly and you are an angry drunk. Instead of arguing with more data, you just say the same things louder. I think your new website will be a hit, especially in the gay community, and you may indeed get more readers than me (way more if you include pictures…).”

Since you do not yet know what the charges are, how can you claim an abuse of power? Are you saying that when a prosecutor plans to charge a murderer they are abusing their power? Or a robber? A rapist?

  6. THOMAS

Bragg is just a lackey Democrat trying to make a name for himself and not being very successful at it !
He is a scab on the A$$ of Humanity ! I do not think that the Fat Fuck has never missed a meal !
I want to see Brag FIRED, Arrested, Disbarred, and Thrown into Prison !

  7. Robin Boyd

Bragg has turned a misdemeanor charge that is well past its statute of limits into a felony charge which is still past its statute of limits into 34 charges using vague claims of criminal action. This is the worst case of abuse of power there can be.
