Learning the ABCs . coloring inside the line . and crossdressing

There is nothing new about men dressing as women.  In the days of Shakespeare, all the women’s theatrical roles were played by men.  No respectable woman would be seen on the stage.

Crossdressing has been a staple in comedy.  Comedian Milton Berle – known as “Mr. Television” –made a career out of prancing across the small screen in ladies’ wear.  One of Hollywood’s all-time classics – “Some Like it Hot” – had Tony Curtis and Jack Lemon evading mob killers by getting into girdles.

Even way back in the 1950s, Ed Sullivan featured a guy doing an impressive imitation of Judy Garland on his Sunday evening program.

There has been a cultural difference between crossdressing as comedy and as more sexual entertainment.  Drag shows and drag nightclubs could be found in virtually every city in America since … ???   Well, as long as I can recall.

We had one near my home in Chicago.  One evening, we took one of our more innocent friends to see the featured singer.  Our friend was very pleased in that macho way that the singer took a special liking to him – groping hands under the table.  We later revealed to his dismay that the singer was a guy.  Oh, what fun.

There has been a difference between comedic crossdressing and the more salacious entertainment – from suggestive material to stripping.  The audience for those acts was a matter of age – and what was considered age appropriate.

Today, the age thing is being breached in various ways.  Suddenly, we are finding instances of crossdressing being introduced to prepubescent children – even toddlers.  There have been crossdressing shows – the salacious kind – for high school and even elementary school children.  It is part of a larger issue of sex and gender being introduced at the earliest ages.

Young children are being encouraged to question their own sexuality and gender liquidity – even access to gender-altering surgery and drugs.

While the youngest children know the difference between being a boy or a girl – and the vast majority hold to that view for their entire life – many of them are being encouraged to self-determine their sexual identity at an age when they barely understand the biological and social implications of being a boy or a girl – that what biology makes obvious can be nullified by will before the age of reason.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has been criticized by Democrats and left-wing media for passing a law that prohibits teaching sexuality before the fourth grade – around the time a child is 10 years old.  They claim it is homophobic and a violation of the civil rights of the LBGTQ+ community.

Critics go on to say that young children are already able to determine their gender – and express desires to crossdress (with or without gender mashing).

I am an extremely tolerant person regarding folks with alternative lifestyles, but there is a time and place.

I am at loss to see any benefit – or any legitimate reason – why any sort of sexual content should be introduced at such an early age.  It is not because these intrusions into the kiddie world are dealing with alternative lifestyles.  I do not think that content dealing with heterosexuality has a place in the curriculum of five-year-olds.

I wonder what is the reason why the left believes otherwise?  What is their purpose?  It makes no sense to me.

So, there ’tis.

Couldn’t agree with you more only that I believe 10 is still too early for cross dressing and intense discussions on homosexuality. Why is this even an issue in grammar schools?

    • larry Horist

Lin … I totally agree. I think basic biology is ok in the later grades — how the reproductive system works. Kids need to know how babies are made as they enter puberty and teen years.

I think cross dressing is as old as mankind. The earliest evidence I can find is Deuteronomy 22: 5-8. I am uncertain what the motive was for some of God’s “chosen people” to cross dress. Possibly to escape military service since Israel was often under attack. Today though, the motive seems much clearer. Cross dressers and LGBTQI+A (and whatever other letters they tag on) seem to want to change the cultural view of their aberrant behavior and gain legitimacy as a lifestyle. I remember a time when society simply called these people “queers” and “fags”. At least that is what my father’s generation called them – I remember it as clearly as the nose on my face. I do not mind if grown adult people want to cross dress and look a bit on the weird side. Its a free country. What I do mind is the forced attempt to capture the minds of the young and innocents that are not even close to the age of reason, which is usually considered to be around 12-14 depending on the maturity of the child. And I do believe the majority of US Citizens feel the same as I do. And what absolutely galls me is the attempt to make me buy into it all. Forcing me to use their pronouns and reject mainstream gender pronouns infuriates me. And to think their are some who want to codify it in law as hate speech. Yes, two weeks ago I was disciplined by Facebook simply because I responded to an old picture where I said the woman actually “looked like a tranny”! I said nothing bad or hateful about transgendered persons, just that it looked that way to me. I was put in time out by Zuckerberg for seven days. Traditional valued Americans are being censored and disciplined just for simple speech on the subject. And then there was an incident last week on Quora.com where I disagreed with a pro-LGBTQI+A statement made on the John Oliver show where he did a segment titled “Transgendered” which you can look up on YouTube. I was harassed and sent a diatribe of info on transgenderism and why I need to accept it “because the medical science says it is wholesome. My argument was that I will put my faith in God and guide my behavior by what the God of creation says in the Bible, not what medical science says on the issue. I also pointed out that medical doctors are split on the issue of gender surgery for young teenagers and that his statement about medical science negated half of the medical population which disagrees with his diatribe on the issue! I also pointed out that hormone blockers were originally designed to assist young children who entered puberty early so that their minds had a chance to catch up with their bodies, and that medical science is coming out stating that there are no long term studies on hormone blockers (since they were originally intended to be given for only a year or two at most) and that there are serious side effects to long term use of such drugs. I believe the root of all of this is a spiritual attack on faith based living in a country that still puts on their money, “In God We Trust”. It is purely evil and meant to confuse and destroy, an affront to God, and a concerted effort to create an alternative to what God has established for creation – in other words, to topple God’s design. And this is exactly what Lucifer which means “morning star” was kicked out of heaven for doing. People doing this are willing participants in toppling God’s established order for man and creating an alternative order that feed the flesh and promotes perversion and debauchery. Good issue Larry, thank you for writing about it!

Tom … Good response — especially the explanation for the use of hormone blockers and the controversy among the medical community of the appropriateness of gander-altering surgery on non-adults. I would bit that most doctors disapprove.

I agree, how many years has this gone on, the massive amounts of cross dressing in Florida elementary schools, the “intense discussions” on homosexuality occurring all over Florida public schools? Do Florida elementary schools have show and tell days? That’s got to be a rush.

I just can’t believe Florida allowed this many transvestite teachers dressed in drag to teach being gay to 10 year old’s and younger. They really did need this law to combat all those elementary school transvestite teacher groomers scattered across the state. Florida must attract trans folks if they have to have this law. Must be thousands of them there that this new law will defend against.

How many have they arrested so far? I bet it’s boatloads.

Fags like Ben love cross dressers

I guess it’s time to focus on DeSantis, looks like a serious 2024 contender. Loved in FL, unknown nationally, he is sparking national notoriety with each carefully planned political stunt that uses FL tax dollars for national PR. He ain’t dumb like Trump, this one’s got some real political chops.

DeSantimonious likes national press to further his national political goals of stiffing Florida taxpayers and running for 2024. So he gens up crap like Disney, his voter fraud fraud, the illegal immigrant travel gate, and cancel culture don’t-say-gay law. What’s important in all this is 1) national exposure, 2) touch a fear n loathing nerve, and 3) picking targets that can’t or won’t fight back. Sex always sells as does the monster who’s coming to eat your cheese…….

For Disney, Desantimonious gave a $600M tax break where Disney would establish 2,000 high paying creative jobs in the State. One rub, turned out that the workers would come from California and Desanctimonious feared “replacement theory” would take root as they voted against him. After the lack of mandate in his last extremely close race, he was terrified. Meanwhile Disney, with a employee rainbow coalition, asked for a meeting to cover Desatan’s lbgtq’s plans and Disney’s employee concerns. Instead, DeSantimonious saw his chance and said: “You have companies, like a Disney, that are going to say, and criticize, parents’ rights,” DeSantis said. “They’re going to criticize the fact that we don’t want transgenderism in kindergarten and first-grade classrooms.” Disney didn’t do any of that, but it plays well against those fearful of groomers coming at them from all directions. Here, Disney demurred and DeSatan pounced. And the rest is history. Disney has closed down it’s $1B in new investment in FL to move those highly skilled workers. California will retain those jobs. A probably $1B in debt will be passed to FL voters. The locals will need to come up with $100M per year for covering services previously covered by Disney. Disney will save hundreds of millions each year in expenses. And Ron-boy gets national exposure and a two-thumbs-up from the homophobic crowd fearful that their kids will turn gay by theme park…… Great press for DeSantimonious at the cost of FL taxpayers.

For his fraud on voter fraud, DeSantimonious created the Election Crimes Office, sounds Orwellian don’t it, for $3.5M of FL taxpayer dollars with 31 employees. There’s a lot of voter fraud in Florida I guess. Their first snag was arresting 20 ex-felons voter frauds and it made a huge national splash amongst the election-denial crowd. So far, there’s one dismissal, the other 19 are expected to be dismissed as well. No further arrests so Floridians can measure what they got for their $3.5M of solution in search of a problem. Desantis got fantastic national exposure.

The DeSanctimonious upped Abbott of Texas by basically kidnapping immigrants though lies and false promises and dropping them off at Martha’s Vineyards because it’s trendy. Again, great national press for the open border fear n loathing crowd, but DeSantis may face legal charges on this one. Lawsuits, Freedom of Info cases, and class action suits are flying. What the hell do VZ refugees in TX have to do with FL and why would FL taxpayers fund this obvious ploy for national attention? Certainly can’t be to attract folks to come to the theme parks…..

Now we come to Larry’s issue and DeSatan’s don’t say gay laws. Larry sees crossdressing as either comedic or a sexual perversion. Gonna really ruin my next re-watch of Pink Flamingo’s :>) His case in point is his anecdote where he and his friends have fun fooling their “friend” with a cross dresser in a drag queen bar. Great guys they must be to have this fun at the expense of a apparently really stupid friend (like he didn’t even know where he was and who frequents this place.) Gotta ask yourself: if everyone was straight, would they still have let him hook up? In that place? OR would they have let him take it farther, maybe get a room, before texting him to tell him what they all knew but he didn’t? Great guys.

But I digress. Point is drag shows may have sexual content, but usually just some jibes from the moderator as the stars tend to shun that stuff. They are often professionals doing a job they love. I don’t think anyone dressed in drag would even cross the line at a children’s book reading. There is no proof of this type of grooming. There is no one teaching drag or transvestitism in FL elementary schools. There is no sex ed there either. This is, once again, a DeSantis solution in search of a problem targeting those who can’t fight back while garnering national exposure across the fear and loathing crowd. He is getting to be redundant in his tactics.

Larry is a little off in his history as well. For example, women have donned men’s apparel for centuries to get by in a male-dominated world. From pirates to factory workers to military officers, they groomed no one and often retained their “maleness” 24×7. In the 1700’s, a number of government officials donned the dress because they like it. In America no less.

Bottom line is this is much ado about nothing but stokes the fabricated fears of Trumplicants hell bent on cancel culture for anyone different. Could be sex, religion, heritage, even age. Doesn’t matter as long as a minority that they can stoke your fears about.
