Biden is a triple-threat to American security (Part Two of Three)
President Biden’s threat to the national security AND personal safety comes in three major policy areas – reduced law enforcement, open borders and foreign policy. Whether his failure to address crime is incompetence, malfeasance or diminished mental capacity is uncertain. In the first of the three-part series, we dealt with reduced law enforcement. In this commentary, we take up the porous border.
Open borders
Biden and the Democrats keep telling us that the border is not open. It just looks that way. The governors and mayors along the border say it is open. Those living along the border say it is open. The border patrol says it is open. And they all see the crime that is the result of millions of migrants illegally crossing the border. Americans across the nation see it as the criminals embedded with the refuge-seekers spread their crimes to major cities and small towns.
It is not only the criminal activities. Illegal aliens have been responsible for injuries and deaths from auto accidents But of course, the criminals are the worst.
The Trump administration had produced policies to close the borders with a wall and increased border patrol enforcement – and by supporting the activities of Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) in tracking down the hardened criminals who regularly breach our border with criminal intent and tons of illicit drugs. He took special aim at the vicious MS-13 gang.
So, what are Biden’s and the Democratic Party’s policies? First was to immediately stop construction of the wall – even though there were contracts and paid-for supplies ready to carry on the project. There are now tens of millions of dollars worth of wall units laying in fields getting rusty.
Biden paid lip service to discourage the caravans of migrants from coming to the border. His Vice President Harris even said that to folks south of the border. But even as he made that cover-his-ass statement, Biden imposed policies to encourage the immigrants to march north.
Biden issued an order to end Trump’s agreement with Mexico that kept the migrants camping out south of the border until their claims of asylum could be processed – and they could be properly vetted. Fortunately, the Federal courts struck down Biden’s order and the Trump program was reinstated.
Rather than discouraging the illegal border crossing, Biden has restricted the activities of the Border Patrol and curtailed ICE raids and arrests. He further encouraged migrants to come to the border by implementing a policy through which those with children – parents or drug cartellians serving as coyotes — would be allowed to stay. Democrat mayors and governors have ordered the local sheriff departments to not cooperate with ICE.
Democrats have been quick to provide a range of benefits to illegal aliens – welfare, free education for the children, work permits and even the right to vote in some communities. One of the mainstays of Democrat urban policy is the sanctuary movement. They provide sanctuary to illegal aliens in defiance of federal laws.
It is noteworthy that the Biden/Democrat policy is to disallow local sheriffs along the border from arresting illegal border crossers – even those with criminal records – because protecting the border is the exclusive job of the federal government. At the same time, Democrats allow their leftwing mayors to create sanctuary programs in defiance of federal laws.
The danger to the public from Biden’s open borders policies is not only a matter of crime. Illegal border crossers arrive in America unvetted for Covid – or any number of contagious illnesses. They arrive unvaccinated and unmasked. There is no social distancing as they congregate on either side of the border. They are moved into the mainland where they can – and have –spread disease.
And the victimization is not only American citizens who lose loved ones and property – or are assaulted or raped – by illegal migrants. In encouraging the migration, Biden & Co. are subjecting those hoping to set down stakes in America to a harsh journey with sickness and crime. There is virtually no reporting on the assaults, deaths and rapes – often involving children — that occur along the modern-day Train of Tears. Nor do the news outlets report the number of deaths among migrants – including murder.
Because Biden and the Democrats refuse to enforce the federal laws regarding immigration, migrant and refugee applications, America is less safe. Again, Biden is responsible for an untold number of hardships, injuries, assaults and deaths because of his policies. He is again violating his constitutional oath to keep America safe from all enemies, foreign and domestic. The criminals who embed in the caravans are enemies of the state.
Perhaps, Biden and the Democrats do not consider the drug cartellians and other criminals as enemies of the state. After all, it is the folks in the communities that are paying the price for his policies. Those folks are physically and psychologically far from Biden’s privileged and insulated establishment environment in Washington.
In Part Three, we will deal with the third area in which Biden and the Democrats are failing in their primary duty – to protect the American people.

I mostly agree with your Part 2 but will reserve opinion on just how many of these immigrants are criminals. I do wonder why so many young males though, seems like they should be doing something in their own country. Perhaps it is all about finding work. Perhaps instead of moving factories to China we can move them to where these immigrants are coming from – if it is safe to do so. When my brother did this for a pharmaceutical company what the company got in return was sky high theft. And many of these folks are not multi-step process oriented so it is difficult to manufacture anything beyond the simplest items. My big concern with Biden’s current policy is where he is depositing these foreigners. He and his administration seem to target red states and it seems to be a sneaky way of diluting the vote of tax paying residents of that state while sticking them with the bill for letting the people in who are going to dilute taxpayer vote? Do you see this as well?
Tom … You make a good point. I did not want to imply that the vast majority were harden criminals, but I think some may come to that conclusion. But even a small percentage of criminals and drug cartellians are enough to do great harm to public safety. I think it is increasingly clear that the Democrats” open border policies — and settlement of the illegal aliens — is a strategy to influence elections. They get the vote in mostly strong Democrat cities, but that can flip a state and a presidential election. Personally, I believe the strategy will backfire — as we see more and more Hispanics switching to the GOP. The new settlers are more likely to be influenced by their neighbors than the folks in Washington. The problem with moving factories to Hispanic nations is the stability of the politics, infrastructure and skilled work force. Crime and gangs are also a problem. Otherwise we would have been going there rather than China in the first place. We do import from places like Guatemala — and we have factories in Mexico.
In Larry’s part one, Larry basically tells you “it’s everywhere, you know its true….” Trust but verify we did; Larry’s opinion is BUSTED, based on the facts his opinion does not stand the light of day.
The truth, via FBI and DOJ statistics, is that the rise in violent crime was not solely due to Biden’s policies but instead, this crime wave is part of a multi-year trend, two years of which were on Trump’s watch. BUSTED. Larry later agreed it started on Trump’s watch, although he’s afraid to target Trump so says “for years.” BUSTED. Larry did not walk anything back. He doubles down, blames Democratic mayors instead of Biden. Of course, he has no policy-proof except the fact I found, that all of this crap is based on, that in 12 cities, violent crime is way up. That’s the actual data source Larry extrapolates to the entire country but can’t provide as a source. That’s his entire database for his allegations for the entire nation as only caused by Biden. BUSTED. And yes, they are all Democratic mayors but we just don’t know about Republican mayors because we just don’t have the data. Any data. It’s just that simple. That does not stop Larry, and others, from howling at the moon and blaming Democrats for its existence.
We then disproved Larry’s baseless claim that police forces are being thinned, decimated by those devilish Democrats led by Joe Biden. Again, BUSTED based on the fact the the biggest US police force reduction was between 2008 and 2013, and that it grew back by 2019, remained flat in 2020. On average, police budgets expanded for 2021….. He is totally BUSTED and offered “crickets” as facts for support.
Larry’s Part One: Totally Busted although violent crime, not necessarily all crime, but violent crime up in 12 cities with Democratic mayors. That’s all Larry can know, the rest is partisan trope and hyperbole.
In Part Two, Larry drones on about Biden’s open borders, millions of immigrants freely crossing, vast numbers of criminals amongst them, only crime in their minds, spreading their crime to small towns and cities all across America. They even have auto accidents says Larry. He talks about Trump “taking aim at MS13” as an example of a strong border policy. Anecdotally, I know of no one raped, robbed, or murdered by an illegal border crosser who came in the time of Biden. I know many sickened with covid, many who have died from covid, and a small number not vaxxed that would be alive today if they did.
Larry tries some facts this time saying: Biden’s bad policies include stopping the wall. He made policies, none that Larry actually can tell you, that “encourage the immigrants to march North.” Larry says Biden stopped Trump’s illegal order but the courts reinstated so
somehow Larry determines something that didn’t happen as proving his point? Larry also says Biden restricted the border patrol, curtailed ice raids and arrests, he allowed children with parents to stay so drugs can be moved, and Democratic mayors have told police not to work with ICE. That’s one hell of a laundry list, we must be inundated. Because of all that is Biden, Larry says Americans are dying, being raped, assaulted by these hoards of sick, drug infested, criminals.
Trust but verify. Since Larry can provide no statistics, rarely can point to a particular Biden action, much less it’s results, I am pretty sure a fact check will turn some Larry fud in all this. But I will call BUSTED because Larry has no statistical support, not a shred of evidence. Let’s just look at the big one — how many illegals came across in 2021 under Biden’s 11-month watch.
2020 – border patrol encounters at multi-year low — covid is a big cause, world migration is down considerably across the globe in 2020.
2021 – encounters quadruple, highest number ever recorded, under Biden’s watch.
Sounds cataclysmic. However — encounters end two ways: expulsion or apprehension. Not immediate release into America with a SNAP card for food and a map to your daughters bedroom… Biden has maintained the 2020 Trump policy for immediate expulsion; yes, it took Trump three years to do this. However, according to PEW: “While the number of encounters was the highest on record last fiscal year, the number of individuals encountered was considerably lower.” Repeat offenders are over a quarter of the statistic thus number of actual individuals attempting to cross is lower under Biden than Trump. Unintended consequence of Trump’s immediate expulsion process. Many folks from many countries are sent to Mexico within hours of border patrol encounter. They just pick up and try again. That’s the Trump process at work. So, Larry is basing his “invasion” based on apprehensions, the data of which is inflated 25% through repeat offenders from Trump’s immediate expulsion broken process. But this number is NOT the number of illegals actually entering the country…. Most are immediately turned back.
On average, over 66% face immediate expulsion. This number as gone down with Biden from Trump’s 90% to about 62%.

The Biden administration stopped the Trump practice immediately expelling unaccompanied children, often not from Mexico, to Mexico since that is a human decency issue that Larry holds his nose for Trump.
Here’s the point. Larry’s main source is apprehensions at the border. Most apprehensions face immediate expulsion. So fast that they try again making the apprehension numbers skyrocket, but the number of people trying go down.
The smaller number of folks who are do not face ultimate expulsion is still large, officials are overwhelmed, and people are indeed being fast tracked, released with instructions on how to appear for court. This is the asylum process that follows the US treaty with multiple nations across the globe that Trump ignored. They enter the US, pending court decision. Unfortunately, the tracking system is flawed due to the way the courts handle cases, so those failing to appear might be as low as 15% or as high as 40% —- the high benchmark would undoubtedly be lower based on the court process, but not sure it gets to 15%. Larry could have a point here; if the data system is broken, the system is broken too.
But the bottom line is Larry provides not a shred of evidence as to increased numbers of illegal aliens in America. He doesn’t even qualify the number of apprehensions ILLEGALLY entering the county. He says MS13 everywhere doing all sort of awful stuff. Does that mean Trump’s campaign promise of war on MS13 is a complete failure after his four years? Or did they come back in less than 11 months from Trump’s wrath on MS13?
We don’t know because there are no facts. He also provides zero facts that the number of illegal immigrants is growing in the US. Perhaps every one is being caught at the border.
He then says the problem is Biden is stopping ICE deportations. ICE does not normally work the border so for 2021, ICE would be deportations for illegals probably coming in the time of Trump, especially in the first months of Biden’s reign. It’s a red herring Larry tosses as more FUD.
Larry never quotes a statistic that there are more illegal aliens in America under Biden that under Trump. I would say BUSTED but IMO the data is not clear enough to make a determination. On MS13, I can pretty much prove that Trump’s campaign statements were false, based on this false flag he waged a unsuccessful war that he claimed mission accomplished falsely too. Fact is MS13 violence is usually in-community, Trump’s war negatively affected said community, and MS13 is still there today. Biden didn’t change the status quo. On illegal aliens, chances are there are more today under Biden than under Trump in both numbers arriving and total numbers. But we don’t know and Larry won’t tell. As to their crimes, we all know the one-off anecdotes reported in the news, but we don’t know the statistical data so Larry, or anyone, really can’t attribute all these horrible stories to each and every illegal alien, or even tell us the percentage chance of criminality.
Not BUSTED but we don’t know how big a problem nor are Biden’s overt actions making it far worse. We do know apprehensions are way up, expulsions are way up, the numbers awaiting court decisions are way up, but those are all “legal.” We don’t know the illegal part — how many sneak around border patrols and how many don’t turn up for court appearances by disappearing into America. Regarding ICE, ICE removals feel in 2020, under Trump, to it’s lowest levels 2005. I don’t know why. Not sure 2021, but Trump’s trend probably continues with Biden dropping maybe 25% off that Trump low. This is due to Biden policies. The Biden policies go after recent illegals more than “entranced” illegals who have resided here for years, violent criminals’ deportations may be up, like double the numbers for sex offenders, but non-criminal deportations are probably down, so I am not 100% sure this is positive for Larry’s criminal element rant.
Like I said not BUSTED, but not much proved either and a lot of Larry’s FUD about what this massive invasion of evil he imagines is criminally doing to us and our health. It is just that, fud. You have a much higher chance of catching covid from a Republican than an illegal. Same with your chance of being invaded by MS13, your risk is probably the same under Biden as it was under Trump. We do have problems here, there are probably growing under Biden, but Larry has only provided the same ole horror stories without adequate substantiation as to the effect or the Biden laws that provoked it.

Your use of BUSTED may give you some sense of personal victory, but it is mostly BS. You seem to think you need to tell folks what to think about what I write. Like a true liberal, you prefer to impose rote over critical thinking. As a conservative, I believe the readers can judge me — and you — without you trying to spin the verdict — or tell them what to think about my motives, etc. You do a lot more bragging than convincing — in my opinion.
