The Dysfunctional Siblings of Paul Gosar

The Dysfunctional Siblings of Paul Gosar

Paul Gosar is a Republican United States congressman.  He has served in House for 10 years.  He has a reputation for quick quips – and occasionally provocative statements.  But he is not as outrageous as the Republican-hating press tries to make him – with the help of several of his siblings.

It is not his relationship with the elitist news media that is the most interesting aspect of the Congressman’s life.  It is his relationship with his siblings – a least six of the nine.  To put it quite bluntly, they HATE him.  I mean really hate him.  Ever since Paul Gosar successfully ran for Congress, several of his brothers and sisters have been unrelenting in their vicious ad hominem attacks on the guy.  It has become their raison d’être.

This is much more than political disagreement.  This is visceral.

And this is not the first time I have written about this uniquely dysfunctional political family.  In past elections, several of his siblings did more than refuse to support his candidacy. They endorsed his opponents – participating in attack ads and appearing on any program that would have them.

Gosar’s sister, Jennifer, recently appeared on CNN with Anderson Cooper.  She said her brother’s opinions and statements are “despicable” and even “criminal.”

She also accused Congress of being derelict in its duty if Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not initiate an ethics investigation of her brother.

In more than a slight bit of hyperbole, Jennifer says that “There is no one member of Congress more responsible for the attack on the Capitol than Congressman Paul Gosar.”

Another of the alienated siblings said that the election of Congressman Gosar’s Democrat opponents was “a moral imperative.”

David Gosar said that his brother Paul is “just hoping either in this election cycle or next, the people get the idea that he’s just not fit for that office, and he needs to be removed.”

Gosar’s Democrat opponent, Dr. David Brill, released videos of the family members attacking the congressman with platitudes short on specifics.  Brill said that there will be more videos featuring the Gosar family malcontents.  That should come as no surprise because most of those siblings critical of Paul support the radical left-wing agenda.  But even those political differences cannot explain their all-consuming hatred.

The Congressman noted that his family critics are all Democrats who were supporting the election of Hillary Clinton in 2016.

The anger over that loss appears to have sent the siblings into a frustrated state of hyper hatred against Trump and Republicans – including (especially) their own brother.

The name of one of the videos released by Brill was, “A Family Defends Its Honor.”

In that video, David laments that the decision to endorse Brill was “not easy for any of us.”  It was “difficult,” “horrible” and “sad.”  That does not square with his and the other Paul-hating siblings’ ten-year history of attacking their brother and supporting opponents at every turn.

But that video not only attacks the honor of brother Paul, but the Gosar parents as well.    So, what do the parents think of the open animosity directed at Paul by six of their other Children?  When interviewed by the New York Times, 85-year-old Bernadette Gosar said that she is “shocked” and “crushed.”  Apparently the wayward six do not have a lot of respect for their own elderly mother.

Mama Gosar said that her son, Paul, “has done a hell of a job for Arizona, and they love him.”  Referring to the Congressman Democrat opponent, Bernadette said, “He doesn’t stand a chance.”   Probably not since Paul won re-election in 2020 by more than 70 percent of the vote.

The obsessive hatred of Paul is most evident in brother David, who said he keeps a Twitter account for the sole purpose of attacking his sibling – repeatedly referring to the congressman as a “weasel.”

David may be the most hateful, but the others are not far behind.

Brother Tim said that it is “intervention time” meaning that “you go to vote, and you go to vote Paul out.”

Sister Joan believes that her brother has “traded a lot of the values we had at the kitchen table.”

From what Mama Bernadette has said, it is more arguably that the anti-Paul siblings have drifted away from the table.

In one of the other videos, sister Grace claims that brother Paul “isn’t doing anything to help rural America.”  In one of the many anti-Paul ads in which the siblings have appeared over the years, Grace said, “It would be difficult to see my brother as anything but a racist.”

In their 2021 assault on their brother, the siblings participated in an anti-Paul television ad produced by Republican Accountability Project. Republican Accountability Project is an organization composed of disenchanted Republicans who pursue a rule-or-ruin policy.  So, in other words, the misnamed Republican Accountability Project is using hardcore radical Democrats for its messaging.

In the ad, David raises the rhetorical question, “How would it be just if the rabble pays the consequence, and the ringleaders pay no consequence?”  Brother Tim claims that Paul “… should have criminal consequences, and if he’s found guilty, he should go to jail.”

Members of families having disagreement over politics is not new.  I think most people experience that in their own families – including the families of elected officials.  It is the depth of the familial hatred that is unique and remarkable in the Gosar family – and the poisonous obsession to destroy Paul Gosar the politician and the man by the very people who refer to him as “brother.”

Whatever one might think of Paul Gosar, it is no excuse for the despicable, disgusting and deranged behavior of his siblings.

So, there ‘tis.

Gosar supported Trump’s “Big Lie” from the beginning, even after it was clear that Trump had no evidence, had lost some 60 court cases trying to gain even a few votes, and it was not mathematically possible for Trump to win election. To this day, he is still maintaining the Big Lie, and even accusing the FBI (led by a Trump appointee) of being complicit in Trump’s loss.

Gosar was one of several Senators who met with Ali Alexander, a.k.a. Ali Abdul-Razaq Akbar, a right-wing extremist who helped organize the attempted coup and whipped up the crowd the night before. Gosar even gave tours of the Capitol before the riots, essentially giving insurrectionists the directions to the Congressional chambers.

Gosar has demanded to publicly release name of the policeman who shot Ashley Babbit. If you watch videos from the Jan 6th attempted coup, you see her and several others breaking out a high window, and her climbing over the backs of several people to go through. There was one lone policeman guarding that door, which led directly to Congressmen at the other end of the hallway. He was standing there with a gun pointed at her – if that wasn’t enough to deter her, she herself was responsible for getting shot. It was completely within the policeman’s duties and authority to lethally stop her and the rest of the rioters from coming through that window. Exposing the policeman’s name is pure Trump playbook, and would expose that policeman and his family to harassment and death threats from right-wing extremists. Gosar is despicable to try to expose him to that danger.

Gosar is a Congressman who has supposedly sworn to uphold the Constitution, and yet was a prime organizer of an attempted coup against the government of the United States. He put fellow Congress members and Senators lives in extreme danger. Gosar tried to subvert prevent the normal, constitutional counting of electoral votes for the sole reason that a failed President wanted to hold on to power even though he was voted out. He is on of many Trump supporters responsible for breaking the string of “peaceful transfers of power” that our Constitution was designed for, and has sullied the image of US Democracy around the world. It’s only by Trump’s incompetence and a little luck that we’re not living under a Hitler-style dictatorship right now. His family (and Americans everywhere) have every right to call him out as a traitor and to demand his punishment. Horist should be ashamed for demonizing Gosar’s family, when it is Gosar he should be calling out. It’s like criticizing the family of a murderer for saying that the murderer was wrong and should be prosecuted. Except here, it’s both murder AND treason.

The only person more culpable for treason than Gosar would be Trump himself, who wound up his little toy soldiers for months before and after the elections, and aimed them at the Capitol as a last-ditch effort to overturn the election. But Gosar was one of Don’s Capos, a traitor in the highest levels of government. Trump and Gosar will get their days in court.

What is it with people named joe? Are you all retarded?

      • Joe S Bruder

Brilliant reply! Did you work hard to come up with that one on your own, or did you have help?

Why don’t you do some actual work (I know, it’s not something Republicans like to do), and research what I wrote? If you find something that’s provably false, let me know.

    • Recce1

Joe, it seems like all too many you haven’t a clue what treason is or where it’s found in US law. In addition, it seems you need to ignore the more than ample evidence of MASSIVE Democrat fraud in the 2020 election. Furthermore, if you really want to see a would be dictator, look no further than Mr. Obama and Beijing Joe.

But I suppose the seditionist socialist Democrat hatred of Trump and conservatives is just too much to overcome. Dr. Mike Savage and Dr. Lyle Lassiter had it right.

      • Marsha B Bare

Joe Biden committed Treason with his son Hunter. Obama committed Treason wtth putting America last – as Biden. Kerry committed treason with Iran. None of these fools will face charges. Oh and let’s not forget the Clinton’s, between murders and corruption with foreign countries, they are King and Queen of treason with no punishment.

        • Joe S Bruder

First, go through my post and tell me anything that isn’t backed up by the facts. And then, come up with ANY evidence of the foolishness that you’re spouting. Just list out what you think the facts are for any of your statements. Go ahead, I’ll wait…

      • Joe S Bruder

Name ONE verified instance of fraud, of more than 2 votes… the only ones I’ve heard of were Republicans… in 60 court cases, not one piece of evidence held up to a judge’s scrutiny. EVERY CASE got kicked out of court for lack of evidence.

Enjoy bashing Obama and Biden, but neither is headed to prison. Trump won’t make it through the end of this year. And that’s just the financial stuff from before his term in office. His attempted extortion of the Ukrainians will catch up with him, and most likely he’ll be hit with obstruction charges for his campaign violations with the Russians. Don’t believe me? Try reading something besides Fox News…

    • Marsha B Bare

Have you read any credible news lately? Jan 6th was orchestrated by FBI, ANTIFA, and probably Pelosi. The was no coup and no lies from Trump. You are delusional at best.

      • Ben

        Marsha,
If the insurrection was perpetrated by the FBI, AntiFa, BLM, and Pelosi, why are the republicans blocking the investigation? It seems as if they’d jump at the opportunity to investigate these people!
        There’s got to be a good reason…

        • Hopiter

Pay attention, the block is not because of some nefarious inside info to keep quashed. It is because democrats do not want it to be a bipartisan group. You don’t send in Pelosi, who has cope ability in all the January 6, debacle, to investigate HER part in abdicating her responsibility. The democrats are still saying the protesters killed cops, which is a huge LIE.

          • Joe S Bruder

“cope ability”? Do you mean “culpability” in your 3rd grade English? Or, I’m sorry, maybe it’s not your native language…

        • Rawhide

Because the democrats would use the investigation to bash the republicans. This isn’t rocket science you know.

          • Ben

            Raw Hoppin,
Wait, you mean to tell me that even though BLM, AntiFa, and Pelosi are totally at fault for the insurrection, republicans are too afraid to of Democratic law makers and so inept they fear they can’t make their case?
Come on man, this is the same part that held 7 hearings on Benghazi even though republicans slashed security funding for embassies ?
You both know that republicans and the trump cult hold responsibility for the insurrection.

      • Joe S Bruder

That’s just shit thrown up against the wall, and it will stick for a week or so… You’re listening to Trump TV, and apparently are willing to believe it without actually thinking about it.

Antifa is NOT an organization, it’s a movement for justice, and they weren’t anywhere near the Jan 6th attempted coup. FBI? yeah, right… I’m pretty sure that the Proud Boys and the Oathkeepers and 3 percenters (who have shown up locked and loaded at Black Lives Matter protests) were violent enough on their own – they didn’t need any help from the FBI. And Pelosi? Even more ludicrous, since most of the idiots were threatening to hang her.

Republicans are coming up with any story they can to downplay the January 6th insurrection, because a handful will be implicated, but also because it tars the whole party with the same brush. First, they denounced Trump and came out against it… then Trump was mean to them, and they changed their tunes. “It was Antifa” (wrong)… it was just a bunch of harmless old people enjoying an afternoon at the Capitol” (wrong again, buckos). “Trump had nothing to do with it” (so why did you denounce him the day after?) …”They were goaded into it by the FBI” (yeah, watching too many 70’s movies)… “Trump really did win” (30,000 lies during his administration, and you STILL believe him)…

    • Robert

You should be ASHAMED of yourself–It never ceases to amaze me that Democrats ALL seem to hate Capitalism, in favor of communism!
The key word here is “Jealousy”!

      • Joe S Bruder

Seems to me that it was Trump who constantly cozied up to Putin (a well-known Communist!). You seem to confuse Communism with socialism. There’s nothing wrong with capitalism, as long as there are rules to the game. It’s not meant to be “winner take all”, that’s why we have laws in the first place.

        • Dan Tyree

Your party is nothing but communists joe blow. And you’re not good enough to kiss Trump’s ass Yes, retard joe is in office because of voter fraud. That’s why millions of us will refuse to comply with the old fool

          • Joe S Bruder

Wow, another brilliant reply! Admit it – your mommy helped you with this one, didn’t she?

I’d have to wait in a pretty long line behind a bunch of Republicans if I wanted to kiss Trump’s ass…

Voter fraud? WHERE IS THE PROOF? Trump wants to cancel the votes of millions of people, and has not shown a single piece of verifiable proof…

Cry me a river all u losers, the american people know the election was stolen from Trump, and the corrupt dumbocraps know they been caught redhanded in the act. Why would u be scared to death of the audits, because it will show all the fraud.

    • Rawhide

The democrats have been cheating in elections for more than 100 years. In 2020, they cheated so massively that it was obvious and the public decided to put a stop to it. They got caught and tried to use their media cohorts to cover it up. But there was no way to cover it up. BTW before the election was thrown to biden, no court wanted to take the time to look at the evidence. With the audit in Arizona and the closer looks in several states, the courts are now looking closer at the evidence.

      • Joe S Bruder

Pretty much everybody, including Republicans, are laughing at what they came up with in Arizona. And now, they’ve taken that ballots away to a secret “processing facility” (i.e. a barn out in the country), where the ballots are certainly not (contrary to state law) under the watchful eyes of auditors and would now be considered “spoiled” and no longer countable. I suppose that’s one way to throw doubt on an election – spoil all the ballots!

    • Ben

      Anon,
      Trump lost lol

  3. Lee

What about all the armed people coming at police across the nation? Don’t they have a right to defend themselves & other citizens, without worrying about going to jail or worse? Ashli Babbitt was unarmed & threatened no one! We aren’t even given the name of the man that shot her.., less known any justice!

    • Ben

Lee, the Capital Police officer stood his ground against an intruder.
      There, fixed it for you!

      • Rawhide

Uh, you don’t shoot unarmed people. Those cops that do, usually go to jail. There I fixed it for you!

        • Ben

          Raw dog,
          Since when?

        • Joe S Bruder

Ashley Babbit (and fellow insurrectionists) broke a window out, using clubs and sticks. She climbed through, and if she had been allowed to pass, the policeman would not have been able to control the situation. In fact, most likely, his life would have been in danger along with all of the members of Congress he was protecting. She chose to climb over the backs of her fellow traitors and spearhead the attack. The mob WAS the weapon,, wielded by Trump. By neutralizing her, the policeman neutralized the weapon.

  4. Marsha Bare

Wow, with family members like that, I would change my name and disown them. You don’t do that to a sibling. PERIOD. How very low of them to attack him with such vicious remarks because he doesn’t tow their line of stupidity being Democrats they are. Shows who is intolerant.

  5. Anonymous

A lot of sick people involved in this what bias

  6. VIETNAM VET 67-68

NO TELLING ABOUT HIS COMMUNIST SIBLINGS, AS USUAL ALL LOGIC ESCAPES THE LEFT LEANING IDIOTS !! NEVER LET FACTS INTERFERE WITH THEIR PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS !! FK ALL SIX OF THEM !! VIETNAM VET 67-68

  7. Ben

Luckily, my siblings and I all have stayed true to our upbringing of compassion, empathy, equal opportunity and vote appropriately for the Democratic Party. We don’t have any cult members that have strayed so radically to the right as this family.

    • Rawhide

You sure could have fooled me. Maybe you need to take a re-look at your comment.

    • Dan Tyree

Ben you and your siblings were raised to be Marxist morons

    • Richard

      Ben,
You are still a DUMBA$$! Of course you vote for Democrats.
Democrats, as a party, have done nothing for this country. They’ve been cheating for many years, not to mention buying votes of the poor with as many free things as they can possibly give out while at the same time keeping those people in poverty and as uneducated as possible. For the Dems it’s all about control and the more control they can have without honest debate, the better for their Socialist messaging. Let’s see, they successfully control the media, including social media messaging; they control institutions of higher learning where there is no debate on both sides of issues and where safe spaces, hurt feelings and made-up ‘microaggressions’ are the order of the day; and they somehow control the narrative that we are all racists. I almost feel sorry for the younger generation who will have to live under the tyranny that the Dems will eventually bring about. Then, of course, it will be too late for them to do anything about it.

      • Ben

        Dick,
You’re telling me that Democratic politicians have done nothing for the Country, and yet the republicans are so inept that they still can’t win an election? I think that says more about republicans than it does the Democratic Party.

        Lol. Y’all are hopeless.
