Obama's Deserter Disaster
Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who left his patrol base in Afghanistan in 2009 to find and join the Taliban’s ranks, has been charged with desertion and misbehaving before the enemy, Army officials said Wednesday. Now that he’s been charged, can we start referring to him as Private Bergdahl again? The man was only given the higher rank due to his MIA status, something which turned out to be an intentional act by the once soldier. Private Bergdahl was released by the Taliban, which had held him for the prior 5 years, in exchange for 5 detainees. Bergdahl is set to begin trial in the next few weeks.
An independent review by the Government Accountability Office said President Obama broke the law in authorizing the release of five Taliban detainees held by the United States in exchange for Bergdahl without consulting Congress. For the record, although some claim the contrary America did negotiate with terrorists. According to Sen. Ted Cruz, ” the reason why the U.S. has had the policy for decades of not negotiating with terrorists is because once you start doing it, every other terrorist has an incentive to capture more soldiers.” now every enemy combatant knows that one captured soldier can bring back 5 of their comrades; Now the world knows the price of an American Soldier. Although its hard to understand why the Obama administration felt Berhdahl was so valuable, perhaps Obama saw a little of himself in the young private.
Bergdahl’s father shares his son’s treachery, as he recently posted the quote “I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners, God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen.” directly addressing a Taliban spokeman’s page. First introduced to America praising Allah, arm and arm with Obama during a rose garden press conference, Berghdahl senior continued to grow his awareness of the Islamic religion by sympathizing with Taliban rhetoric. While it is hard to understand why a man would be so impressed and intrigued by drug dealing, homicidal men who kept his son in a cage for five years, Bob Berghadl might find a new appreciation for America – because Bowe Berghdal won’t be seeing anything but a cage for a long time.
