Is Beto calling for a Civil War? Because that’s what he will get…
During the Democratic debates Wednesday night, Beto O’Rourke was asked if he would do a “forced buyback” of certain “assault” weapons. He answered, “Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47.”
Beto O’Rourke is a naive fool.
Can you imagine the police or other designated force going door to door attempting to confiscate these weapons from their legal owners?
Anyone familiar with the 2nd Amendment knows that its specific purpose is to forbid this kind of action. The mass confiscation of rifles is a blatant violation of the 2nd Amendment, the likes of which have never taken place in America before.
But this DID happen in 1930’s Germany.
Hitler’s enforcement group, the Brown’s went door to door in Germany taking weapons away from the Jews. Everyone knows the history of the years following, a helpless Jewish population was forced onto trains and into concentration camps where millions were exterminated.
I predict this will NOT happen in America. I predict that guns owners will organize and that they will refuse to relinquish their weapons.
I predict most sheriff’s departments will refuse (actively or passively) to go door to door and confiscate weapons of any kind. If ATF attempts to organize such a confiscation, gun owners will resist passively to the extent possible, testing the will of a hypothetical President O’Rourke to fulfill his promise.
How many Americans will have to die to get O’Rourkes will satisfied? But he is not smart enough to back down. In fact, the liberals may be thankful when these good Constitution-supporting Americans are dead.
Eventually, there would be bloodshed, brutality and massive organized resistance, all playing out across America and the world on television and social media.
This will polarize America to such a great degree that we will LITERALLY be engaged in a civil war. Barack Obama, the “us against them” community organizer, will have gotten his wish.
This is not a joke, this will be played out, not on social media, but in real life.

The founders wrote the Constitution in specific response to the tyranny of the British. They wanted to ensure that tyranny would not be possible in the new democracy/republic hybrid that they invented. Scholars agree that the purpose of the 2nd Amendment to make the government afraid of its citizens, that any attempts at tyranny would be met with the force of its well-armed citizenry.

Author’s note: I am a gun owner, but not a hunter or firearm sportsman of any kind (not opposed to hunters or sportsmen, its just not me). My sole purpose for having a gun is self defense.
Then again, I’m tall, in good shape, I don’t take unnecessary risks, and I spent 12 years with the CIA. Its not like I have a problem with security. I have had a concealed carry permit for many years, but I have never actually carried a concealed weapon.
But after having seen the Obama years and how the government can force changes that are unreasonable and, indeed, unconstitutional, and how the highest office in the land can arrange to use government resources to harrass and attack its political opponents, not once, but many times, I take very seriously the 2nd Amendment’s call to keep our country safe from tyranny. Its this a potential civil war situation? Yes, I think it could be.
There was a time when I did not believe that a 2nd Amendment issue, or ANYTHING resembling a Constituional crisis would ever reach my doorstep.

I own a semi-auto SKS — have a 35 round banana clip, pistol grips, etc. I have no reason to have such a weapon – got maybe because it’d be cool to have. However, those who MUST have such a weapon can give no reason who they need one -=- there is none. Further, the Constitution does NOT say anyone can own anything just because they want one — it says “Text of the 2nd Amendment
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Clearly, it says we need a militia of some kind and in those days the people were the militia — thus, they had to be able to own a gun. Further, nowhere tin the Constitution dos it way the kind of gun — back then they did not have automatic guns so unless you are police — sorry — ego isn’t a reason to own any kind of gun. Cheers

When this amendment was drafted there were no states only colonies. The people had to defend themselves against the British and anyone else that might attack them. There was no army of sorts it was called the Malitia. It has been upheld for over 200 yrs in the courts during that time and weapon changes. While it may not say any type of weapon may be held, it certainly does not say you can’t pick your type either.
I’m down here in ‘gator country and what I’m hearing from the citizenry of this area if it’s war they want it’s war they will get. Folks down here, and that’s just about everybody, owns a couple of guns and they are not going to give them up without one hell of a fight. One gentleman who served in combat four times said,”I am prepared to die in my front yard before I will knuckle under to those fanatics. Our democracy is indeed in danger, and the danger comes from our own government and the hired hands that the politicians (bureaucrats) have turned over their law, rule and over legislative duties to,while they are out looking for more money to run for reelection. I am not a gun owner. I am a 67-year-old retired pastor and have not picked up a gun again since I was discharged from the Army, and won’t. But I understand that the Second Amendment isn’t about sports; it’s not even about self-defense against criminals. It’s about the right of the citizenry to defend itself against an oppressive government, and follows directly from the language of the Declaration of Independence. Beto O’Rourke, and everyone else who shares his views on gun confiscation, would enable a dictatorship.

It seems somewhat interesting that an individual who is a known felon can make statement of confiscation of my weapons and make me nervous that if he is elected, he could start the next American Revolution. Is it because he can’t pass a background check himself or can’t legally own a weapon, because of choices he made in his past is that why he thinks he will have any ability to remove my weapons from my hands?. All he has done is made the legal gun owner buy more ammo. History will repeat itself and we once again we will have to wear our red bandannas around our necks. What this Beto kid fails to realize is that in the same way that drugs can be brought into the national territory via the southern border, and in the same manner that guns have gone from the United States southward down into Mexico, guns can be brought in from abroad into the United States via the porous southern border as do the opioid drugs.
What’s more, these guns could have been assembled abroad in foreign workshops, without serial numbers, making these guns untraceable.
A serial number on the body of a gun, if it is a legitimate gun, can be chiseled out in-depth by a determined gun trafficker.
If Beto dares try making gun control enforceable nationwide, he would trigger the creation and expansion of a huge black market in guns.
Moreover, guns can be counterfeited by professional gun counterfeiters and guns are made for shooting and killing.
There is nothing that gun control activists can do to stop a determined American who insists on having a gun, whether American made or foreign-made or brand or counterfeit.
I seriously recommend that Mr. O’Rourke wisely set aside his fanatical crusade, that he cease and desist what he’s trying to accomplish.
It will backfire not on him alone but against the Democratic Party collectively.
