Chinese President Urges Military to Prepare for War Over South China Sea

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday put military officials overseeing the South China Sea on high alert:

“It’s necessary to strengthen the mission…and concentrate preparations for fighting a war,” said Xi. “We have to step up combat readiness exercises, joint exercises, and confrontational exercises to enhance servicemen’s capabilities and preparation for war.

The South China Sea is a strategic area situated south of China between Vietnam and the Philippines. The area is rich in gas and has massive potential in terms of global trade. China claims complete sovereignty over the entire region and is actively creating man-made islands where it can position surface-to-air missiles.

China’s claim over the South China Sea is not based not on international rules, but on a map the country issued in 1947. Six other countries have valid claims on the region: Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Brunei, and Vietnam. And while the United States has no claim, it is concerned by China’s growing influence in the region as well as its ignorance of international law.

Earlier this month, a Chinese Navy vessel came within 45 yards of a US ship patrolling the region, forcing a quick maneuver to avoid a crash. Chinese officials have warned that US air and sea patrols are likely to cause ‘unexpected accidents.’

“Despite such reckless harassment, the US Navy will continue to fly wherever international law allows and our national interests demand,” said Vice President Mike Pence. “We will not be intimidated and we will not stand down.”

Last week, retired Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges said we would probably be at war with China in 15 years:

“It’s not inevitable – but it is a very strong likelihood that we will be at war with China,” said Hodges, a former commander of the US Army in Europe. Hodges warned that our European allies may be on their own in the face of a resurgent Russia should America get wrapped up in defending its partners in the Pacific.

“The United States does not have the capacity to do everything it has to do in Europe and in the Pacific to deal with the Chinese threat,” said Hodges.

Xi’s talk of war comes amid increasing tensions between China and the US over trade, Chinese expansion, intellectual property theft, and Taiwan. And while his words should not be taken at face value, we must remember that China has ambitions well beyond good trade.

Trump is aware of this, and he will push for negotiations without causing a war. Let’s hope the next president can do the same.

If this 15 year projection is correct, the United States has a great deal of preparation to conduct. President Obama drew the Navy’s ship levels down to pre World War One levels. He also did much damage to the military readiness from his economic policies. Some museums were turned to for aircraft parts to enable air wings to be deployable. A good examination of priorities has to be reviewed as social programs may not be as important when and if the Chinese launch military action as they have been developing and advancing. We have not done the same.

Its just not the Obama Administration that has hurt the USA militarily, it is the entire Democratic Party and followers who have done it. When our welfare budget exceeds the National Defense budget we have a problem. Its called pandering by the Democrats to buy votes at election time, to enslave those receiving welfare and scare them into thinking that if Republicans get in office their welfare wages will stop. Perhaps a good program to ween them off the welfare tit is a good idea and return this country to the way it should be. How about cutting welfare by 25% the first year, 50% the second year, 75% the third year, and off welfare after 4 years of it. While on this reduction schedule teach those who receive it a skill, give them a job, and instill pride in them again. Stop making them slaves to the Great Society Slave Programs. If we get everyone pulling on the same end of the rope perhaps we can make this country a world power again instead of a nation every nation sucks off of in the world! Match China and Russia who has laughed at our nuke agreements and still continued theirs in secret. If we are indeed a world power we better doing something and start showing it.

China should take a moment to look back in time. If it were not for the United States and all the Americans who even before America entered the Second World War,went over to China to fly planes to protect the Chinese from being bombed etc by the Japanese. And then when the United States entered the war, many American military men and women (who served as nurses) gave their last few to protect them from Japan. If it were not for Americahelingthe, they would be speaker ng Japense. All the countries in the world forget the cost of their problem, was the lives of our men who fought for them. quote, No Greater Gifft Then For One Man To Give His lLife To Save Anothers”. And then it was the United States who helped rebuild their country. I lived during the Second World War. I know of what I say. I agree with President Trump, America First, about time..

China has a history of referring to themselves as the “middle kingdom” meaning they are closer to heaven than the rest of us scum. Mere gratitude in so recent a history isn’t going to stop them from gaining the glory and power they think they deserve. I’m not really talking about the average chinese, its the government that feels this way.

Please check your history. The China we, and my father flew the Hump for, is not mainland China of today. The Communists under Mao over ran Nationalist China which is now regulated to a very small island in compared to mainline China.
