Trump Attacks Harris with Clinton’s Words on Immigration

The Trump campaign has flipped the script and is using former President Bill Clinton’s recent words about immigration against VP Harris!

Clinton, stumping for Harris at a Georgia fish fry event, defended the failed bipartisan Senate border security bill, arguing that, had the bill become law, the federal government would have had more resources to properly vet migrants at the border.

“[Harris is] the only candidate who has actually endorsed a bill that would hold down immigration in any given year to any certain point and then give people a decent place to live, make sure we didn’t divide people from their children, and we did total vetting before people came in,” said Clinton.

“Now, Trump killed the bill. The bill was written — being written by senior Republicans in the Senate. And he killed the bill. Why? You got a case in Georgia not very long ago. They made an ad about it, about a young woman who’d been killed by an immigrant. Yeah, well, if they’d all been properly vetted, that probably wouldn’t have happened.”

The Trump campaign seized on the remark, which was about Laken Riley, sending out an email statement titled “Bill Clinton Blames Kamala Harris For Laken Riley’s Death.”

We don’t normally agree with any Clinton in this column, but in this case, Bubba got it right. Bill was supposedly stumping for Kamala Harris, trying to defend her horrific record as border czar, when he accidentally told the truth.

The 22-year-old Georgia student’s accused killer, Jose Ibarra, had crossed into the United States illegally in 2022 and got promptly released into the interior. Clinton tried to shift blame to Donald Trump, who he claimed is responsible for killing that “bipartisan border bill” that Democrats insist would’ve fixed everything.

Problem is, Ibarra was set free in 2022 (when Democrats controlled Congress), while that bill didn’t even surface until this year. And, of course, Trump, as president, set up numerous safeguards to keep dangerous illegal migrants like Ibarra out of the country.

Even those “seeking asylum” had to wait in Mexico until their cases could be heard under Trump’s Migrant Protection Protocols.

Yet from the moment President Biden and Border Czar Kamala Harris took office, they scrapped every last protection Trump erected, including the Remain in Mexico program. Under the Harris-Biden administration, almost anyone requesting asylum — no matter how bogus the ask or frightening their criminal background or terrorist ties — gets in, virtually no questions asked.

Harris-Biden policies have let in thousands of illegal migrants from countries that are hotbeds of terrorism. Hundreds of migrants with links to terror are said to be free, roaming US streets.
