Biden Wants to “Study” Court-Packing
Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden has been pressed from all sides to take a stance on court-packing (adding justices to the Supreme Court) following the death of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and the GOP’s rapid efforts to confirm Amy Coney Barrett.
In 2019, Biden said this about court-packing: “I would not get into court-packing. We add three justices. Next time around, we lose control, they add three justices. We begin to lose any credibility the court has at all.”
Last week, Biden said he ‘wasn’t a fan’ of court-packing but that his final decision would depend on Barrett. This week, he said wants to form a new committee to study possible reforms to the court system if he wins the election.
Um…what?
“What I will do is I’ll put together a national commission of, bipartisan commission of, scholars, constitutional scholars, Democrats, Republicans, liberal/conservative,” said Biden during an interview with CBS. “And I will ask them to over 180 days come back to me with recommendations as to how to reform the court system because it’s getting out of whack – the way in which it’s being handled.”
That’s a whole lot of fancy talk to justify what he really means: Biden will pack the Supreme Court if Barrett is confirmed.
“It’s not about court-packing,” claimed Biden. “There’s a number of other things that our constitutional scholars have debated and I’ve looked to see what recommendations that commission might make.”
In addition to court-packing, Democrats have also called for term limits and jurisdiction stripping to restore balance to the Supreme Court. As expected, Biden has refrained from taking a real stance so as not to affect the decision of swing voters who respect the integrity of the nine-member court established in 1969. In reality, as Trump as suggested, Biden will be a “puppet” president at the mercy of a progressive party that is “willing to destroy the Supreme Court.”
While I understand that Democrats are bitter and fearful regarding the potential 6-3 conservative majority about to happen in the Supreme Court, that does not give them the right to change the Constitution. Court-packing is the worst possible subversion of the third branch of our government. The idea that you can just change the Constitution – and the outcome of major Supreme Court cases – by adding more justices is downright treasonous.

There does not seem to be such a thing as bipartisan. His committee will be full of leftist scholars, leftist Democrats, and RINOS. And if they want to take term limits…..let’s talk Congress before the Supreme Court. The justices have been put on the court for life or until they choose to retire…..a life term. Representatives are elected every 2 years……a 2 year term. Who should limits first be directed to? Same for the senators……a 6 year term. Terms limits for Congress FIRST. They put a limit on the office of President, and I think that is a good idea. We have seen what power does to people who were elected by the people!
Term limits should have been in place from the start. Serving in Congress in any capacity is a privilege NOT a profession and should have a maximum term of no more than 10 years. Power corrupts as we have seen repeatedly in Congressmen who have been there for an extended time- people on both sides have fallen into the quagmire and become drunk with the power and lost sight of the people.
Biden can study it by packing his ass hole.
