Dems launching more Trump investigations. Really?

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her House Democrats are at it again.  Unbelievable!!  They have announced their intention to launch more investigations of President Trump.  This time for the handling of the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States.

The desire to somehow … someway … get Trump out of office has gone beyond obsession. It is now pure madness.  Even as more than 50 percent of the American public has expressed approval for Trump’s handling of the fight against the COVID-19 virus – and his overall favorable rating has been going up — the House leadership is determined to gin up yet another blatantly political effort to accomplish what they failed to achieve with the 2-year investigation by Special Counsel Robert Mueller, a shamefully partisan – and predestined to ultimately fail — impeachment proceeding and a bogus Ukrainian scandal.

In all these efforts, Democrats had the unwavering partisan support of the eastern elitist news media cabal.  And yet, Trump’s “numbers” – the various polls – did not decline and, in most cases, improved after each failed political strategy.

Rather than admit the errors of their ways, Democrat leaders seem to think that they just need to pile on more bovine excrement to convince a critical mass of the American public that Trump IS the evil incompetent they portray him to be.  Soooo … they have to get more extreme to try to make the excrement they are dishing outlook like American apple pie.

In the Democrats’ tradition that every disaster or crisis can be turned into political manna, Pelosi & Co. are latching on to the COVID-19 crisis as possibly their last chance to take down Trump specifically – and Republicans and conservatism in general – in the November general election.

They are proposing one of those after-the-fact commissions to study the response to the COVID-19 outbreak in America – the sort of commission that was created after the assassination of President Kennedy in 1963, the race riots that broke out in Democrat-controlled cities across the country in 1968, and the 9/11 terrorist attack in 2001.

The concept of a commission is not bad.  It would certainly be beneficial for our leaders in Washington and around the country to examine how we could be better prepared for some future pandemic.  The problem is the intent of Democrats like Pelosi – and others.  There will be no objectivity in the operation of such a commission – unless it is to object to everything President Trump said and did.

Not since the Civil War as the United States been so divided along partisan lines – not even during the Great Depression when President Roosevelt used the crash of the stock market to advance authoritarianism on America’s federal system and simultaneously promote white supremacist policies that survive today in our segregated and impoverished inner cities.

You can rest assured that the effectiveness of any commission will be undermined by the same strident partisanship that characterized the impeachment hearings.  Pelosi’s commission will have only one purpose, to demonize Trump – and she knows she will have the help of the elitist media.

The Pelosi commission would be just another political kangaroo court.  And as if that is not bad enough, Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff wants to open his own personal investigation into Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 outbreak.  Unlike Pelosi, who feigns a higher purpose, Schiff can hardly contain his underlying desire to “get Trump.”  His frustration over past failures is palpable.

And there is another tentacle to the Democrats’ investigatory hydra.  There is to be yet another committee investigating Trump. (Yes, they say it is to investigate the COVID-19 issue, but no one other than a fool or a hopeless partisan would believe that cover story.)

There will be an Oversight Committee investigation headed up by South Carolina Congressman Jim Clyburn – who famously said that the COVID-19 provides an excellent opportunity “to achieve Democrat spending goals.”  In commissioning the Oversight Committee, Pelosi said it would be like the Truman Commission that investigated allegations of profiteering during World War II.

You do not have to wait for the results of the Clyburn hearings.  I will give them to you now. They will conclude that corporate America has been a bad actor during the crisis.  Attacking private sector business is in the Democrats’ DNA.  And of course, Trump will be at fault.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that House Democrats wasted all that time with their partisan impeachment – even as the COVID-19 virus was attacking America – it now seems that they will spend the rest of the time between now and the November election wasting more time on mendacious partisan attacks on Trump.

Maybe this time, Pelosi & Co. will finish the job.  No.  I do not mean taking down Trump.  I mean finally proving to the majority of the American public that the modern Democratic Party is unfit to govern over we the people – in fact, they are scary.

So. There ‘tis.

On January 31 2020 President Trump issued an official White House proclamation in which he suspended entry into the US of people who pose a risk of transmitting the Corona virus.
He was among a very small group of countries who at the same time implemented similar travel bans. President Trump once again was widely and harshly criticized by his opponents and most major news outlets proclaiming this was just another act of racism by the POTUS. These are the same elected politicians and news outlets who are now crying loudly that he did not act soon enough, he did not view this as a serious treat and that he did too little too late.
Where were these elected politicians and their lock step news cronies on January 31 and the 2-3 weeks that followed? What were they focused on, holding endless news briefings on and reporting 24/7? Was there any mention of the looming threat spreading throughout our country from even one of them? NO!!
The only focus of so many of our elected officials and the news media who support them unchallenged and unquestioned was the impeachment of President Trump. The one and only issue these people have focused on, obsessed over since the day he was elected!
If you read this Proclamation you will learn that the very message our President communicated, his assessment of the risk and his projections were spot on. His message was clear, his projections were accurate and his warnings were strong, as strong as they could be provided the facts he had at hand at the time.
And yet because his opponents, the people we have elected to protect this country were single mindedly spending every minute of every day (and millions of our taxpayer dollars) had only one focus this warning went totally ignored.
Had any one of our congressional leaders or State and local leaders or anyone in the main stream media read this proclamation, taken this message seriously, done even a few hours of simple research, and reported this threat accurately they may have been instrumental in slowing and possibly stopping this pandemic that has and will continue to cause so much hardship and grief for the average middle class American family.
Never before in history have so many of our elected officials been so derelict in their duties, in their responsibilities to protect the people of our country!
Now is the time to hold these individuals personally responsible for doing absolutely nothing to warn us, implement measures to protect us and support any and all efforts to stop this threat without politicizing it, pointing fingers, projecting blame AND using it as a means to fund their pet projects that are totally unrelated to this imminent threat.
I challenge everyone to go online, obtain a copy of this proclamation, read it thoroughly and pass it on to anyone who blames the President for this pandemic. Now is also the time to personally contact our elected officials who are so quick to place blame and ask, where they were and what they were doing in the early weeks of February? What measures did they take to protect this country, our states, counties and cities?
If you are represented by anyone of these hypocrites who are now denying any responsibility and wasting valuable time and resources projecting blame you must (we all must) hold them responsible and replace them with people who have the ability to focus on facts, issues and use our resources to protect us not destroy us.

Wasting time is not trivial when faced with critical issues like the health of the nation’s people and the survival of our economy. Somebody needs to figure out how to structure the country onto sectors of contagion propensity levels. NYC, San Fran, Seattle, Detroit, etc are a 10. Rural West Virginia, is a 1. Then devise the graduations in between. Apply rules for social and business interactions, etc. You get the idea. Keep the economy from falling flat on its face and a larger portion of the working population at work and employers staying in business. There is a balance out there somewhere, and investigating the Executive Branch is not getting us any closer.

Wasting money is another effect of ill-advised strategies. Schumer and Pelosi call a Commission planning meeting. Each brings 6 staffers, claims a room in the Capital for 40 – to allow distancing. Coffee and donuts – er, crepes for the affair. $20K out the window just to scheme. Next rent some office space and hire 20 Beltway lawyers at $400/hr to start reading all the paperwork and structure the events. $350K per week at this point.

How many meals for impoverished school kids would this feed? How about some COVID-19 test kits? Or some N95 masks for the nurses?
How can these people look in the mirror?
In my own mind a feel sorry for them, addicted to power and filled with hate. What a horrible way to live.

Yes Larry, I agree with you, hearing will have partisanship, like the impeachment hearings, and like the impeachment hearings republicans will ignore the evidence and carry on. Trump and his administration deserve an F+ or D- grade on their response to the corona virus , and only that due to his stopping flights from China in late-January (not anybody infected as you erroneously state). After that, he sat on his hands for six weeks and did nothing except try to lull the public into complacency with his false and misleading statements regarding “democrat hoax” “cases will go to zero” etc. Meanwhile, the virus was spreading unchecked. There should have been large scale testing, but the results of the tabletop exercise dealing with a corona virus pandemic in October were largely ignored and the pandemic response team set up by Obama was dismantled in 2018. Now, due to his “leadership” the country is closed down for 6 weeks, the government has been forced to issue a 2+ trillion dollar stimulus package and we are in recession. Take your head out of the sand, this is a failed response that should be investigated so we hopefully do not repeat these failures!

“That every man felt his condition to be, somehow or other, worse than it might be; that every man considered it incumbent on him to join the rest, towards the making of it better, that every man felt his only hope to be in his allying himself to the comrades by whom he was surrounded; and that in this belief, right or wrong (unhappily wrong then), the whole of that crowd were gravely, deeply, faithfully in earnest; must have been as plain to any one who chose to see what was there, as the bare beams of the roof and the whitened brick walls. Nor could any such spectator fail to know in his own breast, that these men, through their very delusions, showed great qualities, susceptible of being turned to the happiest and best account; and that to pretend (on the strength of sweeping axioms, howsoever cut and dried) that they went astray wholly without cause, and of their own irrational wills, was to pretend that there could be smoke without fire, death without birth, harvest without seed, anything or everything produced from nothing.”

It’s going to take b*llets, rather than b*llots to fix the problem… That day is rapidy approaching when it will be unavoidable.
