Obama Banned Pork from Prisons – Yet Another Islamic Accommodation
According to a Washington Post article, the Bureau of Prisons, which operates facilities for over 200,000 prisoners has decided to eliminate pork from their menus. The Bureau of Prisons cited higher prices and prisoner choices to the move.
But this is hogwash (sorry for the pun…) according to Dave Warner of the National Pork Producers Council, who claims pork is much less expensive than beef and said, “I find it hard to believe that a survey would have found a majority of any population saying, ‘No thanks, I don’t want any bacon.'”
Non-pork options have long been available to observant Jews and Muslims, who do not eat pork products for religious reasons.
But let’s look at the reality of the prison system as it is. According to a Daily Caller report, one out of three African Americans in prison have converted to Islam. The Huffington Post reported 35,000 to 40,000 inmates convert to Islam each year, and the total prison population is 15% Muslim.
While its true, a lot of religious conversions happen in prisons (whether real, temporary or just for show), a Pew research study showed 57% of Prison Chaplains rated extremism in Muslim inmates to be common. By contrast, with Catholicism, only 8% rated it that way.
In the meantime the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) “welcomes” the move.
Author’s Note: This may seem a trivial matter, but Mr. Warner’s comments ring true. The premises from the Bureau of Prisons are obviously crap. Americans consume over 25 billion pounds of pork per year, somebody must like it…
I believe this is indeed an accommodation to Islam by the Obama administration, and this illustrates how our prison system has become a recruiting ground for radical Islam. There is nothing peaceful about Islam in a prison.
Prisons are a logical place to find disaffected Americans, it would not surprise me to find other Islamic recruiting influences and organized outside help for those influences.
Bottom line, Islam has changed yet another small segment of our society for its own purposes.
