Hillary Clinton uses San Bernardino Shooting to Push Gun Control Agenda

Hillary Clinton uses San Bernardino Shooting to Push Gun Control Agenda

“I refuse to accept this as normal,” said Hillary Clinton of the mayhem that occurred Wednesday when two gunmen opened fire at a party in San Bernardino, California. “We must take action to stop gun violence now.” Around 11:00am Wednesday, two heavily-armed gunmen dressed in tactical attire opened fire at a social-services center in San Bernardino. The gunmen, later identified as 27-year-old Tashfeen Malik and 28-year-old Syed Rizwan, managed to kill 14 and injure 21 before leaving the scene. A car chase ensued and the two suspects were shot and killed by police. While Presdient Obama mentioned the culprits might have been terrorists, we don’t know for sure. Police continue searching for answers regarding the mysterious attack.

Not surprisingly, Hillary Clinton and other Dems wasted no time using this tragedy to push their gun control agenda “We don’t know the reason or motive yet behind what happened in San Bernardino yesterday in California. But I just was told before coming in that the president says we can’t rule out terrorism,” said Hillary during a recent campaign visit to a New Hampshire factory.  (Let’s see.  Middle East couple with heavy weapons and pipe bombs? Duh…)

“We do have to take this seriously, and we have to get the rest of the world to join with us,” Hillary continued. “Look, we’re always going to have differences. We’re Americans, that’s part of who we are. But there’s got to be a way to end some of the hot rhetoric and the negative attitudes that people are spewing forth. Because whether it’s an election or whether it’s a news program or whatever might be going on, we should roll up our sleeves and work together and solve our problems. And so I want to do everything I can to find common ground to bring people together.”

Not surprisingly, Bernie Sanders jumped on the bandwagon with a message on Twitter just hours after the shooting. Not only did he call for increased gun control, but he also took the opportunity to insult the NRA: “Horrifying news out of #SanBernardino. Enough is enough: it’s time to stand up to the @NRA and enact meaningful gun safety laws.”

While Democrats look for someone to blame, GOP presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina stepped up to criticize Obama and Clinton for politicizing the tragedy: “Without knowing any of the facts of what has happened there or why, President Obama and Hillary Clinton immediately came out and made a political statement for gun control,” said Fiorina. “Instead of Mrs. Clinton calling for more laws, why don’t we enforce the laws that we have and, as well, enforce the Second Amendment?”

Fiorina makes a good point. The state of California already has some of the tightest gun control laws in the country. And still, Democrats are pushing Congress to pass more restrictions, frequently throwing the term “terrorist” around to describe US-born gunmen who commit mass shootings. The liberal group Democracy for America even went so far as to accuse House Speaker Paul Ryan of “aiding and abetting those terrorists” by failing to pass more laws restricting access to firearms.
