Turkey's Erdogan Tells Turks Abroad to Have 'Five Children, Not Three'

As the relationships between Turkey and European countries continue to deteriorate, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is offering directives to Turkish citizens abroad.

“From here I say to my citizens, I say to my brothers and sisters in Europe… Educate your children at better schools, make sure your family live in better areas, drive in the best cars, live in the best houses,” said Erdogan in a televised speech in city of Eskisehir, right below Istanbul.

“Have five children, not three. You are Europe’s future. This is the best answer to the rudeness shown to you, the enmity, the wrongs.”

Erdogan has recently compared both Germany and the Netherlands to the Nazi regime after Turkish ministers were blocked from holding rallies in support of the referendum that would expand Erdogan’s powers.

Erdogan also condemned these countries for being discriminatory against Turks and has threatened both of the countries.

“Holland! If you are sacrificing Turkish-Dutch relations for the sake of the elections on Wednesday, you will pay a price,” said Erdogan, reported the BBC last week.

Suleyman Soylu, Turkey’s interior minister, also threatened to “blow the mind” of the leading powers of Europe by sending 15,000 refugees to the EU a month.

Erdogan said the real reason the other countries are hostile toward Turkey is due to “the discomfort they feel as Turkey has become an independent country with its economy and situation in the world.”

About 99.89% of Turkey’s population identifies as Muslim, according to religiosity polls. While Germany and France are the nations in the EU with the largest percentage of Muslims with 5.8% in Germany and 7.5% in France. These numbers are on the rise. Muslims are projected to make up 8% of Europe’s population by 2030.

With Erdogan encouraging the Turkish to populate Europe with more numbers, this 8% projection could be more. He sees a larger population as a more powerful weapon.

Like America, Europe wants to be tolerant of other cultures– but the truth is some of the beliefs of Islam are so far removed from Western culture.

“Islam is not like other religions, there are illiberal beliefs held by vast numbers of Muslims. Vast numbers of Christians do not believe that if you leave the Christian religion you should be killed for it. Vast number of Christians do not treat women as second class citizens. Vast numbers of Christians do not believe if you draw a picture of Jesus Christ you should get killed for it,” said Bill Maher, a liberal television host.

“There was a Pew poll of Egypt a few years ago, 82% said stoning is the appropriate punishment for adultery. Over 80% thought death was the appropriate punishment for leaving the Muslim religion. To claim this religion is like other religions is just naive and plain wrong… This is the soft bigotry of low expectations that we have with the Muslim people.”

Author’s note: He has a point and this is why Europe is being wary of Turkey. Not to mention, Erdogan’s rhetoric is getting more threatening every day.

Editor’s note: This is a very telling comment. Islam takes the long view and in the long view population is the most potent weapon. Islam will soon have considerable power in Europe and eventually will have enough to take control. This is real.
