NBC News: Kasich Dropping Out – Its Trump for President in the General!
According to NBC news, John Kasich will announce he is suspending he campaign for President, leaving Donald Trump the Republican Candidate for the general election.
This word was apparently leaked from a senior campaign advisor. He has canceled a press conference in Washington DC, apparently wishing to make the announcement in Ohio at a planned event at 5 pm.
In a speech yesterday Kasich indicated his plan was unchanged, he was going to win in an open convention and he would be in the race until and unless Trump reached the magic number of 1237.
During his campaign, Kasich was able to amass 154 delegates, a bit less than Marco Rubio’s 172.
Trump now will have the opportunity to repair damage done through his campaign and attempt to unite the Republican Party.
