Kinzinger endorsing Biden says a lot

Kinzinger endorsing Biden says a lot

Surprise! Surprise! Former Illinois Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger has officially endorsed President Biden for reelection.  He is not the first or even the most prominent conservative Republican apostate.  The top honor goes to former Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney.  Runners-up in the dubious honor category include former Florida Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough, former Republican Florida Congressman David Jolly and former Illinois Republican Congressman Joe Walsh – and there are others.

There is a common thread with all these folks.  Not only were they Republicans, but they were also seen as – more or less — conservative Republicans.  They all say they broke specifically with President Trump.  That does not explain why they all have abandoned the Republican Party and their once-claimed conservative principles.

I can understand why some conservative Republicans can have issues with Trump.  I do – and I have expressed them in commentaries over the past six years.  Like many Republicans, I voted for other candidates in the Republican primary.  I would have preferred to have a different person heading the GOP ticket.  But Republican voters across the nation gave the nomination to Trump – and I understand why.

The difference between me and the others is that I did NOT abandon my conservative principles and support for conservative issues.

When I cast my vote for Trump in the 2016 general election it was despite my reservation and because he – flaws and all — would likely bring to Washington more conservative policies.   We would get more conservative Supreme Court Justices under a Republican president.  And that turned out to be the case.

I voted for Trump in 2020 for the same reason.  It was all about conservative principles over radical left-wing and woke policies.  Trump lost that election and what did we get – radical left-wing and woke policies.  And how well did that turn out for conservatives specifically and America in general?

For the third time, principled conservatives are facing the same problem – electing a flawed person with good policies over a flawed person with dangerous policies.  I am among the majority of Americans who believe that Trump handled matters better during his term than Biden has in his.

Democrat strategist James Carville famously said, “It’s the economy, stupid.”  I would broaden that to say that “it is the issues, stupid.”  They are more important than the personal character of the candidates – although I would like to have both.

It is the devotion to conservative issues that makes me especially critical of Adam Kinzinger and the others of his ilk.

Kinzinger not only rejected Trump, but he has also rejected the entire Republican Party – including his self-proclaimed conservative issues. Like the others, Kinzinger absurdly claims to still be a conservative.  But he has not only endorsed Biden, but he has also essentially joined and endorsed the entire Democratic Party and its left-wing agenda.  To the extent he still claims to be a Republican and a conservative, he is a false flagger like the others.

Kinzinger’s now frequent paid appearances on CNN and MSNBC explain a lot.  He sold out for money and prominence – the cash and the camera.  Again, he is not the first.  The group includes former GOP chairman Michael Steele, David Jolly, Joe Scarborough and a number of other one-time Republican operatives who are now highly paid “regulars” on left-wing media programs.

There is no greater evidence of that fact than Kinzinger’s shift to the Democrats and their left-wing ideology than his appearance in a Biden fundraising solicitation.

Under a large photo of Kinzinger, he states: “Hi, I’m Adam Kinzinger.  I’m a proud conservative. And today, because of my unwavering support for democracy I have announced: I’m endorsing Joe Biden for reelection.” (His boldface.)

Kinzinger’s statement is an irreconcilable conflict.  By definition, one cannot be a “proud conservative” and endorse Biden.  Truth be known, Kinzinger was never a reliable conservative.  He first ran to the left of a conservative Republican candidate in the primary and served in Congress as a malleable establishmentarian – not a conservative.

Kinzinger knows he is not a good conservative.  When he was redistricted by Democrats into a more conservative district, he saw the writing on the wall and dropped out of the race.

In the Biden fundraising solicitation ad, Kinzinger went on to say:

So, here I am, a Republican asking millions of Americans to rush a donation to help reelect a Democratic president.  Will you donate $25 or even more to President Biden’s campaign before tomorrow’s debate?  We desperately need President Biden in the Oval Office to protect what makes this country great: or democracy.” (The underscore is his).

Like conservative principles, Kinzinger rejects the Republican Party while claiming to be a member.  In America, one can join any party they wish, but that does not mean they must hold to the values and policies of the party.  (We see this kind of hypocrisy in posters at antisemitic rallies proclaiming, “Jews for Palestine.”  But I digress.)

Kinzinger’s support has not been limited to Biden.  He has endorsed a number of down-ticket Democrat candidates.

Kinzinger’s claim to being a Republican and a “proud conservative” is prima facie bogus.  He is nothing more than the latest member of the cadre of apostates who have abandoned both the Republican Party and conservative beliefs.

If Kinzinger – and others – had held on to their conservative claims, they would not be supporting the Democratic Party and all its left-wing policies.  To Kinzinger and the others I say, “It’s the issues, stupid.”

So, there ‘tis.

Kinzer is like bug guts on a motorcycle, maybe the little man can cry enough, to wash the guts away, he is so irrelevant, he and Cheney put a fork in their political careers with what they did on the J6 committee. Isn’t it funny how many , has beens are employed by the propaganda wing of the democratic party, the msm.

    • frank stetson

Charles, my bad, Kinzinger IS on the 1/6 committee. And I know better to check if not positive so broke my own rule on top of stick my foot in my mouth. And no, Mr. Horist, that is not embellishment, that’s just being stupid. Doubly so when it obvious I know better.

      • larry Horist

Frank Stetson … For a person who claims to be on top of current events, not knowing Kirzinger was on the j6 committee and in the news virtually day after day is a HUGE lapse. It is not obvious that they know better.

  2. frank stetson

CMC: Beats being a reality tv politician……. And Kinzinger was not on the J6 committee.

I just do not understand the proclivity in the Republican party to attack those who disagree. To mandate followers ban folks who disagree with their Felon Rapist King. Even slightly. In the Republican Party, this means if you don’t goosestep to the bandleader, wear the same stupid red tie, little blue blazer, and forget to fist pump your sieg heil salute to the Felon Rapist King, you can be summarily drummed out caste as a Shudra, or worse yet — Undesirable.

Horist curb stomps Adam Kinzinger this go round. He says Kinzinger is an apostate; that’s a biblical version of heresy, pretty demeaning for just having the same beliefs he had as a leader in the Republican party. Heresy just because you won’t follow the Felon Rapist King. He claims Kinzinger abandoned the Republican party, those poor victims that badgered, doxed, intimidated and physically threatened this man and his family which continues to this day. He has dozens of death threats, presumably from Republicans. Horist says that Kinzinger has essentially embraced the entire Democratic party and left-wing agenda. That is a LIE. There are not many Democrats that even do that. Horist has no sources, no support for this LIE.

MSNBC, like most MSM, does not pay for interviews. That would be a LIE. They do have paid analysts and the like and I am not sure about expenses for interviews. Horist is undoubtedly thinking of FOX, NYPost (who pays for non-interviews too), NewMax, and Gilbertson’s favorite Chinese right-wing rag, The Epoch Times for buying news. Kinzinger does not work for MSNBC, he does work for CNN as a senior political commentator. And I am sorry, but Horist agrees that Kinzinger should be banned from his real job in politics, but after tossing the man to the curb, blames the man for selling out basically curb stomping him after abandoning him. One of these guys has acted with honor, the other —- not so much.

“By definition, one cannot be a “proud conservative” and endorse Biden” says Hoirst when apparently it’s happening right in front of his eyes. So, he changes his definition and outlook. Kinzinger never has.

You see Horist, there are many Americans that believe Trump the man sours any policy he signs off on. Some believe a FELON is not suitable Presidential manly material. Nor a woman-defaming sexual abuser of the digital rapist variety. Not to mention all the other indictments YOU look to erase via a popularity vote. Some believe that lying, cheating, stealing, election-rigging, and abusing others trumps your policy statements. FYI — not making that up, no LIES there, all adjudicated in court with evidence provided in the court papers.

Yes, your man is a cad, a bully, and picks on women. But he also breaks the law frequently. And you know he will break it again. Kinzinger is guilty of none of that, just for calling out your Felon Rapist King as that.

Kinzinger is the son of an elementary school teacher and a CEO of Jewish faith-based organizations. Should Republicans be accused of antisemitism like they accuse all Democrats for the actions of a few college students?

Raised initially in Horist’s current state of FL, moved to Horist’s first state, Ill, where at age 20, was elected the McClean County board as the youngest ever. Like Hoirst, he was bitten by the politics bug, but unlike Horist, he got elected. Again, and again. As a great Republican.

Kinzinger resigned from the McLean County Board in 2003 joining the United States Air Force as a second lieutenant. He volunteered for service and went for multiple foreign tours protecting our nation as a good Republican. He got his wings. Flew missions in South America, Guam, Iraq and Afghanistan. Then flew surveillance in two tours of Iraq. Overall, he served in the Air Force Special Operations Command, Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command, and Wisconsin Air National Guard. He was promoted to lieutenant colonel. With the guard, he deployed to the Mexico–United States border still protecting our nation as a good Republican.

For over 12 years, Kinzinger served Republicans proudly in Congress. He serves in the reserve still. He disagreed with Trump and they trashed him, threw him out of the party. He still believes in conservatism. He firmly believes that Trump does not.

Horist says he votes for the polices not the man. For 12 years, Kinzinger was both the man and the policies. And because he believes Trump is not a man to follow, because he believes Trump the man does not live by a code of decency, Horist hates Kinzinger, the man.
Toss them all out Horist. Ban them all for differing with you. Mandate that they leave. You deserve that and all that results. When you mandate that everyone marches the same way to the same place, usually that march is right over the cliff.

    • larry Horist

Frank Stetson … You seem to be losing the basic facts more and more. Aging or reading comprehension issues … both? Kinzinger was on the J6 committee. And I am a much better judge of Kinzinger than you since I have known him personally from his first run for Congress …. and he never was a solid conservative. And his support of the Democratic Party today is not in keeping with his old values even if not as conservative.

      • frank stetson

Horist is the archetype pugnacious prick.

As I penned my notice of my mistake, I laughed to myself with the thought bubble: “I bet dimes to donuts, Horist will hop all over this like a junk yard dog with a sow’s rotting bone.” He never fails to amuse. And since Horist, like his Felony Rapist King, rarely admits a mistake, even more rare to apologize, but still lies just like Trump, I expected fully that he can not even recognize one right in front of his fat, little, grizzled face. No less from this less-than-a-man without a moral code, without decorum.

Horist: I have never claimed to be on top of current events: that’s a lie from your obsession of Stetsonian hatred. For a guy who never reads me, you sure read me a lot.

I think I admitted it was a huge lapse: can you not comprehend what you read or does your hate blind you so much that any free cheap shot you get is worth taking?

And it’s obvious the drugs are hitting in when he blurts: “It is not obvious that they know better.” Who is they? I am only one….. Talking about someone else? A group? What the hell should I know better? The mistake? Who was on the 1.6 show? What gem here was I supposed to commit to my memory for all time?

I did know better you stupid son of a bitch — that’s why I wrote the retraction.. R E T R A C T I O N —- try it sometime, dumb shit. Oh wait, you can’t because that would break faith with your Felon Rapist King you love the poLIEices so, so, much.

Horist is the guy who seeing that the dog is down, the dog is defeated, steps on the down-dog’s dick for his added pleasure of victory. To see what a yuge dick this guy can be, read my explanation as I figured out my own mistake, identified it, owned up to it, explained it and even admitted to being really stupid to break my own rules to make the mistake. And, after that, the prick pounces pugnaciously.

This guy cannot argue the issues, he can only attack the person and he knows no bounds, no code, no guardrails in his low brow, guttersnipe, verbal assaults.

      • frank stetson

Hoirst repeats himself when under stress, he repeats himself when under stress.

And I better you do think you are better. At least in your own mind, small and decrepit as it is. So you knew him 14 years ago. Amazing how he has grown while you have shrunk.

He’s on CNN and you are Gilbertson’s toy.

    • Marvin

Get ready Frankie. It’s Trump all the way. Ready or not. He’s wiggling out of the charges and I’m ecstatic about it. God will give him a win and you satan worshipping dumb rats can kiss Trump’s ass.

    • Hamlin

You’re a lying son of a bitch. But that’s ok. I have my brown shirts ordered. Lol. I spend time practicing my hand salute in front of a mirror. But Trump is coming back. Perhaps you lefties should repent of your sins and stupidity and join us

  3. Rich Redig

Kinzinger and Cheney are total assholes. They claim Trump created many problems. Well, look at Biden and his crime family. He’s brought so many issues to America that he should be locked up along with his ditzy wife. Both belong in Prison and I’m glad he won’t be nominated for President along with the losers Kinzinger and Cheney.

  4. Suzanne Wolski

All about conservative Principles! Don’t make me laugh! Trump and therefore the Republican Party that supports this “Felon” no longer has any principles! The only thing they have is an overwhelming desire to be the ONE and ONLY party in this country from now on. That doesn’t bode well for a Democracy does it. The Republicans and Trump have no desire to retain a democracy all you have to do is listen to Trump’s speeches to understand that! Trump has said he will be a dictator for one day, right, he would never be satisfied with one day, this guy is a huge Narcissistic Liar, he can’t help himself and he will never change!

    • Archie

Suzanne go vote for retard joe. Your stupidity is showing.

  5. Andrew Gutterman

Trump DESTROYED the economy during his term in office. All you had to do was look at all the small business closures in any downtown or elsewhere. Many of them did not come back. Yet the big box stores remained open. I’m a small business owner, nothing has been the same since Trump. I’ll take Biden any day over Trump.

    • larry Horist

Andrew Gutterman … Apparently you are not aware that there was a pandemic.

      • frank stetson

Yes there was a pandemic, and beyond fast-tracking the vaccine, Trump has one of the worst, if not THE WORST, covid response than any other developed nation. No bonus points there,

  6. Darren

I guess opinions are like Ass Holes, seems everybody has one.
What most people are still not getting is what make a true hard core Trump Voter!
Bush was a Clown, Clinton was a Clown, Obama was a Clown and Biden is Just a Crooked Clown!
Elite, Elite, Elite, people just looking after the Elite in this country.
There goal is to live like royalty while the Slaves ( The people who pay tax money they can waist ) toil
    in there world.
Trump gave EVERYONE a chance and closed our border.
This is why Bush did nothing on the border, his objectives were the same as Clintons and
    Obama.
The turn coats ARE republicans, just not TRUMPETS!
Trump should have had his own party.

    • Frank stetson

I’m sorry D, but does not your definition of elite fits DT to a T? Born with silver spoon firmly up his ass. Did not go to public school. Avoid draft four time on deferment, one time on paid-for doctor’s note for imaginary bone spurs. Isn’t Wharton Ivy league. Didn’t he live on tax dollars with a half dizen bankruptcies? How many trophy wives has he bought? Trump did not give me a chance. I pay more with his fake cuts. There were 11m illegals when he entered office, there were 11m when he left. Covid did most of it.

Waste tax dollars? The man has the largest US deficit as his major achievement. No one has ever borrowed more money. His bill for secret service to stay at his elite hotels is hundreds of million’s.

Quit listening to his lies and look forcthe numbers yourself.

  7. AC

Conservative, conservative, conservative what about a person who identifies as a conservative and better yet a true makes them so sacred and holy? Is some
place in Republican nirvana reserved for the real and true conservatives?
Larry identifies as a true conservative. Therefore, he is the picture of correct conservatism. Should all conservatives bow in the direction of Boca Raton, FL morning and evening.
Conservatism like every other brand people adopt has variants. Not everyone taking the brand of conservatism on for size will look precisely the same as every other conservative. If every so called conservative came to know the Horist Conservatism Brand as negative self evolved, narrow minded, anti-democracy, cynical, and critical who would buy in.
A change of target to Harris an unknown quantity for you and your ilk. You bet the farm on Biden, how is that going for you? How do conservatives manage a pivot as radical as that? Not well is how. Flexible and conservative do not compute. I know, I cut my political teeth on conservatism back when conservatives were conservative not crazy arrogant and delusional. No way do normal sane reality based adults band together and talk Trump’s talk all the way to the ballot booth. Something is desperately wrong with Americans believing the Emperor wears new clothes.
You are being hugely duped by a criminal con man who does not a policy from his potty. Maybe he has a pretty potty, butt it does not prove he is presidential material. If Trump says “ jump off this mountain”. You all will take the leap. Shite you will Republicans would rather die than not vote Republican. But do not think all must vote the same.
Horist, what flavor dressing do you take on your salad., vinaigrette I presume.
