Iran Attack on Israel – Massive but a Failure. What’s Next?
By now we all know that Iran attacked Israel with approximately 170 drones, 120 ballistic missiles and 30 cruise missiles. This attack was repulsed by Israel with the support of the U.S., France and Jordan, apparently “only 1% got through.” At the time of this writing, we have seen no indication of where the attack got through, and no mention of casualties, if any.
We can breathe a collective sigh of relief that this attack was a miserable failure, but now it is time to ask the next question.
What’s next?
President Biden has said he will not support retaliation by Israel. Newsmax sources say that he told Netanyahu “You got a win. Take the win.” Seems a pretty bitter pill for him to swallow, and probably irrelevant to the policy decisions of Israel.
A great many folks General David Petraeus and former Trump advisor John Bolton have gone on record saying that retaliation is critical to creating a deterrent of future attacks. Reports say that Israel’s war cabinet is discussing that very thing. Given that Israel has survived by being the meanest and strongest dog in the neighborhood and that a lack of response signals weakness.
But let’s have a look at some of the political and propaganda aspects of this.
1. Comment from CNN, the attack seemed to want to avoid casualties and more for spectacle than for damage. Israel had substantial warning since Iran launched the drones first which only fly at about 115 miles per hour. Soft approach?
Hmmm, is Iran setting itself up for victimhood? We have seen major pro-Palistinian protests within America and around the world, making claims as outrageous as “genocide” seemingly forgetting that it all started with a ruthless slaughter of 1200 Israeli men, women and children.
Cynical? Can Iran become a realistic “victim” in this? After all, they claim that Israel attacked a diplomatic facility in Syria that killed Iranian military officers. It is a propaganda play that has worked once, thanks to the Western press, it could work again.
2. Do we have any doubt that this attack was sanctioned by China? We do know that Iran is so beholden to China at this point that orders will be followed. The motivation is obvious, if the U.S. is focused on Israel, they will be less inclined to pay attention to the Russia-Ukraine war. And we all know that the American people are easily distracted. That is why we elect politicians who (supposedly) can walk and chew gum at the same time (better luck next time, America…). This strategy seems to be working, why not escalate. Once again, propaganda that could have genuine military impact.
3. Will this turn into a “wag the dog” situation for Biden? Everyone knows that a wartime President is always more popular than a peacetime president. He has already said he will “not support” retaliation. But will he be “reluctantly” drawn into a wider conflict? Is this cynical on my part, thinking that Biden, in a desperate gamble, might make the biggest propaganda play of all and support a war to get reelected?
It might be cynical, except for one small detail. It works. Let me emphasize that.
It works.
Hope they dont listen to biden We saw how is faggot army CHARGED out of Afgan leaving everything but there boots IF they had them on when the Charge came.
No, Biden is tapping his shoes together hoping it all goes away.
He is trying to play the innocent bystander in all of this.
What is needed is a power president that can see right from wrong
and not give a shit about whiny protestors on either side.
He is weak playing both sides and NO dodging of any facts will make him stronger.
The Democrat’s need to open their eyes and take a good look at who they hired.
If most of the voting base has no business experience, it shows, and the ones that did,
shame on you!
It is amazing how easy it is for the media to elect a puppet!
I have no doubt about that, but he’s not really running things anyway. The people behind him are the culprits. Maybe even Obama??
Really weird one for sure.
1. Ever since the Guard took Iran, Iran has funded terrorists: Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthi, you name it. We have not stopped the money with is priority two in fighting terrorism, right after stopping attacks.
a. Israel strikes back by assassinating Iranian General thought to be the Hamas attack point person in Damascus Syria.
2. Everyone knows Iran will attack in response to the assassination. We say it, they say it, everyone says it. Weird.
a. We said it through ‘unnamed military spokespeople.” Why unnamed? Did they look to plug the leak? What’s up with that. Weird.
b. Iran preannounced, but given the Hamas cowardly sneak attack that started this current ball rolling, that makes perfect sense since it’s for show and they don’t want to get the living shit kicked out of themselves. By why the show? I got balls marketing message? Weird.
c. Israel says it will retaliate with an unspecified date (finally, a telegraphed message without a date)
3. Iran launched 300 projectiles, many are slow moving drones that take hours to reach Israel, Israel stops all but around 3 ballistic missiles via the Iron Dome. An preannounced attack destined to fail, destined to be noticed.
a. A dozen injuries, one young Arab girl hit by fragments— sure, right, Arab, those Israel’s are good at the message.
4. Both sides drop over $1B for the attack and defense — well, it’s probably us and Iran….
5. We, and others, tell Israel not to retaliate. Weird.
a. What’s up with us offering something that we would never do ourselves? We would strike Iran, IMO. Weirdest yet.
The whole thing is weird. Why announce? Why US intelligence as “unnamed sources” who clearly are not leaks Why launch projectiles that won’t work? Is that good PR? Why tell Israel not to fight back? Why all the telegraphing and false-flag positioning?
It appears that between Israel, US, and Iran, only Israel has its sovereign head screwed on right. Biden says “stand-down?” Who’s he trying to get votes from for that? Joe suggests a “war-time” rally round the President voting opportunity. Hasn’t worked for Biden so far Joe, I don’t see it. Especially after the “stand down” message. If this happened to us and Joe said he would stand down, pretty sure the electorate would stand up and tell him to get out.
Iran as victim Joe? Not sure a really bad attack gets you victim status. More like stupid status. China’s approval Joe? Not sure, but probably. Who owns who here? China has the purse, Iran has the oil, I am not sure who’s on first. Don’t matter, I don’t see Iran ever being the victim at this point given their support of terrorism.
Frankly, Iran supports terrorism. This general ALEGEDY is the Hamas point person. He got hit at his embassy in Syria — that’s Iranian sovereign territory. Iran hit back, in a show-attack, in Israel. Biden said to stand down. IMO, he should have STFU rather than say that. What happened to Israel should be able to defend itself?
I expect Israel to take out some infrastructure, hit em in the oil pipelines, fields, storage, and refineries. And perhaps nothing more. But I do not think they will, or should, stand down. Biden is a non-player pandering to pro-Palestinian Democrats and should just stand down himself and STFU. We don’t care about pro-Palestinian Democrats if they require stupid statements like that.
The real question regarding war with Iran is given Israel stops the oil, what happens to oil prices after that. Won’t be forever, but could be a multi-month disruption in supply. And the question that has been here ever since the Guard took over Iran —- how to stop Iranian money from reaching and being used by terrorists while letting the world use their oil. We can’t stop the attacks until we stop the money. But they have 10% of the world’s oil, we have 2%, so it would be nice to work it out to avoid war and keep the energy pipeline open —- even with sanctions. Because when the oil stops, China has to get it from somewhere and that means price increases.
You seem to grok. Iran is a “victim” only in the propaganda sense, a cover for action leaving them the latitude to escalate. This is to influence most of the disinterested rest of the world, to keep coalitions from forming. The propaganda play for Joe Biden is”stand down”, the obvious move at the moment. What else would he say? He must be “dragged into” the war, lots of ways to get that accomplished if that is the plan.
And don’t forget, Iran is more or less a China puppet, they have Iran by the balls economically.
