In Connecticut, Female Athletes Struggle to Compete Against Trans Rivals

In a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday, three track and field athletes in Connecticut argue they have been robbed of “honors and opportunities” after continually losing races to biological males who identify as females.

Transgender athletes Terry Miller and Andraya Yearwood have won 15 state championship titles over the past three years. Both are biological males who identify as female, but have not completed the sex change process.

“Mentally and physically, we know the outcome before the race even starts,” argues Alanna Smith, a sophomore at Danbury High School. “That biological unfairness doesn’t go away because of what someone believes about gender identify. All girls deserve the chance to compete on a level playing field.”

The lawsuit, filed against the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference, targets a state policy that allows trans women to participate in women’s sports as long as the athlete’s gender identify is verified as “bona fide and not for the purpose of gaining an unfair advantage in competitive athletics.”

The plaintiffs, represented by conservative group Alliance Defending Freedom, see the policy as a violation of Title IX – a 1972 law that established female sporting teams at schools.

“Girls deserve to compete on a level playing field,” argues ADF legal counsel Christiana Holcomb. “Forcing them to compete against boys isn’t fair, shatters their dreams, and destroys their athletic opportunities. Having separate boys’ and girls’ sports has always been based on biological differences, not what people believe about their gender.”

As described in the lawsuit, men have several biological differences that give them an advantage in sports: larger hearts and lungs, more muscle mass, stronger and longer bones, higher myoglobin concentration, and a taller average height.

Despite the evidence, the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference insists the policy allowing trans women to compete in women’s sports is “appropriate under both state and federal law” and complies with the state’s anti-discrimination laws.

The ACLU, defending the two trans athletes, frames the lawsuit as discriminatory.

“The purpose of high school athletics is to support inclusion,” argues Chase Strangio, head of the ACLU’s LBGT & HIV Project. “Efforts to undermine Title IX by claiming it doesn’t apply to a subset of girls will ultimately hurt all students and compromise the work of ending the long legacy of sex discrimination in sports.”

To highlight their argument, the ACLU released a touching statement from  Ms. Yearwood about how much she loves running: “I have known two things for most of my life: I am a girl and I love to run…There is no shortage of discrimination that I face as a young black woman who is transgender…This is what keeps me going.”

In spite of a request from Alliance Defending Freedom that Yearwood and Miller stop competing while the lawsuit is underway, both athletes were allowed to participate in the state’s indoor track championships this week.

Connecticut is one of 17 states where trans high school students are allowed to participate in sports without restrictions. Eight states have rules that make it difficult for trans athletes to compete and at least 14 states are working on legislation to prohibit student athletes from competing outside their biological gender.

Editor’s Note: If we want to distinguish women’s sport as women’s sports, we have to recognize the difference between men and women.  Pretending confusion about what constitutes a woman is political correctness at its worst.

I feel absolutely no empathy for these people who made this world what it is. You can’t push a false reality and then cry foul when this crazy world they created affects them! What the hell did they think would happen?!?! Biology and science has proven that the make up of males and females are definitively unique. When so euro is so warped to push for something that goes against nature, you have a mad mad world. So you freakin insane leftards, enjoy your Frankenworld!

If one is born with a penis they are recognized as a male. The same is true with one having a vagina recognized as a female. Case closed these other CONFUSED individuals I don’t know what to tell them, is to deal with the reality of being what they were born to be. If they want to continue to be freaks then let them declare to be known as members of CONFUSION.

AMEN!!! If for some reason you are confused about what gender you are, check your undies. If you were BORN with a penis you are male, end of discussion. The rest is mental confusion and has no real effect on what sex you are. You need to take that up with God and I think He will set you straight. He “created them male and female created he them” – No confused sexuality as Adam and Steve can’t procreate in any natural way, so forget it.

I can tell you a MAJOR reason for the sexual confusion is the introduction of soy in the food chain in the late ’60’s – Early ’70’s. It is a MAJOR female harmon synthesizer and crossed the placental barrier and infuses babies with high female harmones. Since their introduction into the food chain we have seen an extreme escalation of homosexuality. A very clear example is the number of male boobs that didn’t exist until them. The problem is so prevalent all you have to do is look at the number of products that have soy as one of the ingredients – 1700+ soy contaminated products in the grocery alone. Is there really a question of what has caused the massive rise in homosexuality? Not to me and this search indicates a lot of others think the same thing https://duckduckgo.com/?t=ffnt&q=soy+and+homosexuality+connection&ia=web

All real girls should drop out of the sport. This would leave them with no team to compete with. Thus taking away the CHANCES of a don’t know what I am winning.

Problem with that is that some girls could really use the athletic scholarships that come along with this to help pay for college.

      • Dan Phillips

PROBLEM WITH THAT IS-VERY FEW EILL GET ONE ANYWAY! WHO GETS THEM ANYWAY THE “THE GIRLY BOYS” HMMM ?

        • Joe Gilbertson

Some will. It is right that a guy should get those scholarships just because they are pretending to be girls?

May the best man win? Good grief, this is a messy bog to be sure. I too have warts that I would feel more comfortable to face my fellows without but I learn to live with them and face my fellow despite. Should I swap my face for one far more lovely I would still be me, and to win a beauty contest would seem a sham for which I am most unworthy. I might enjoy the contest and with some semblance of decency forfeit the crown to those lovely ladies who shared my joy and understood my woeful road. We are all broken, we all have warts. But where we meet is in love and tolerance and to find a way to heal the world, not wreck it as is happening here. There are options available that good people can conceive like the above mentioned or to even have a third (fourth as well?) class. Maybe a class within a class for these – it’s not a secret after all who is in the competition. What ugly hearts have these that they would do that to the very fellows they deign to assimilate with.

We all know transgender people are irrational. The real question is why are government representatives and school representatives also affirming this irrationality by allowing this WAR on women’s rights to take place?

I just watched a commercial on TV for HIV and it CLEARLY stated the drug doesn’t work on those who are “assigned” female at birth.
AS IF you can assign a sex at birth!! BS!!!
What the heck are these biological MALEs dressing like females thinking???
If they were actually Female, then they couldn’t take the drug for HIV.
    Reality has flown the coop!

If you are born with a penis, YOU ARE A MAN!!!
I don’t care how you “feel” or who you Identify with.
That’s on YOU. In the real world, you are what you are born,
If you want to dress up, or cut up your body, that’s on YOU.
The rest of us are living in the real world.
Live your life, but if you are trying to be something you weren’t born as, don’t expect the rest of us to cower to your delusions.
