Cruz: Biden Deliberately Sabotaging the Border – ‘Nothing Less than an Invasion!’

In a recent visit to the U.S.-Mexico border, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) expressed his strong criticism of the Biden administration’s handling of the illegal immigration crisis. Cruz highlighted the alarming increase in illegal border crossings, emphasizing that the numbers are reaching unprecedented levels. He stated, “We are witnessing an absolute travesty unfolding on our southern border. This is deliberate! This is a decision that was made by President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and Congressional Democrats to open up the border to what is nothing less than an invasion.”

Cruz further emphasized the gravity of the situation, pointing out that the numbers he mentioned were only from the specific area he visited and did not include data from other parts of the 2,000-mile border. He added, “The volume is overwhelming! It’s gotta stop!”

Highlighting the impending expiration of Title 42, a public health order that has allowed for the quick expulsion of migrants during the pandemic, Cruz warned that the numbers would only increase with its expiration. He expressed his concern over the Biden administration’s desire to see higher numbers of illegal crossings, labeling it an invasion. He extended his support and gratitude to the Border Patrol agents, whom he called “heroes,” for their relentless efforts despite facing obstacles imposed by their superiors.

Cruz’s remarks align with a recent NPR/Ipsos poll, which revealed that a majority of Americans, including three-quarters of Republicans, believe the United States is experiencing an invasion at the southern border. The poll also indicated a decline in support for immigrants overall.

While Republicans were more likely to hold negative views of immigrants, the poll showed that extreme rhetoric, such as the use of the term “invasion,” has resonated with a wide range of Americans. The situation at the border, with over 1.8 million migrant apprehensions since October, has led to heightened concerns among the public.

Immigrant advocates have warned that the use of terms like “invasion” has historical associations with white nationalist circles and can potentially incite violence against immigrants. Despite this, the poll indicates that the word has been embraced by a significant portion of the American population to describe the situation at the border.

Furthermore, the poll revealed that partisan affiliation and media consumption play a role in shaping perceptions of immigration. Republicans who rely on Fox News and conservative media were more likely to believe false or misleading narratives about immigration.

The issue of immigration holds different levels of urgency for Republicans and Democrats. For Republicans, it ranks much higher as a concerning problem facing the country. Democrats, on the other hand, are more likely to view immigration as an opportunity for safety and a better life.

Cancun Cruz is a snooze even making Joe the Preacher want to turn to booze. He’s in Congress but wants Uncle Joe to fix everything for him. When Texas is freezing he heads South crossing the border. Now he’s crying in his beer about immigration

HEY TED: I think Title 42 was a fucking revolving door which provided immediate expulsion followed by immediate retries, no harm, no foul.

NOW, under Biden, we are using Title 8 which, indeed is not immediate, but unlike Title 42, Title 8 has potential jail time and a five year ban when deported.

Apparently, with crossings dropping 50% after Trump’s Title 42 goes down, Title 8 seems to be slowing folks —– for now.

Get current Ted, better yet, run to Cancun cuz you sure shitting doing nothing here.

3000 per day is not exactly “slow.” And “five year ban” only applies to legal immigrants, irrelevant here

Joe-You love to point fingers at democrats (I get it-you are a paid provocateur), but could you please point out which law the Biden administration is not following? If Republicans are as serious about the issues at the border, then perhaps they should be passing laws in Congress to do something about it? The rest of us realize that Republicans are not really serious about doing anything about the border, instead they use it as something to whine about to stir up the base (much as they used roe v wade for years-then they got what they were asking for and started losing elections..)

Republicans passed laws to build the wall, Democrats have broken that law by not completing the wall. Democrats are refusing to uphold the immigration laws that are on the books. They are allowing an invasion of the United States which is treason. How much more do you need?

          • Moke f

Joe-Are you really that stupid? A) when the republicans were in control of Congress they said no to trump’s request to build the wall B) the reason the republicans and democrats alike have refused to build the wall is that the wall (as designed by trump’s people) is completely ineffective, can be traversed with a ladder or a simple saw. So no, I believe that republicans just want to point fingers, they really don’t want to do anything. The problems at the border has absolutely nothing to do with a wall. I asked for laws that Biden is breaking, you deflected, so it is obvious you don’t have a clue about what you are saying….

          • Joe Gilbertson

First of all, the wall was being built. Trump and the Republicans did that. Biden stopped it.

Second, clearly you know nothing about security. Security is in three categories, physical, electronic, and administrative. If the physical barrier is not there, then the other layers are ineffective. Everyone who knows security knows that.

Third, I told you exactly what laws were being broken and more importantly the treason of the Biden Administration.

          • frank stetson

Come on Joe, how about some facts, sources, statistics — or maybe a number????

You say: “Republicans passed laws to build the wall,” Laws, as in plural. Which law Joe….. Come on, tell us… there is NO LAW written to build a wall. Find one.

What immigration laws on the books are Democrats refusing to uphold? Be specific for a change, please, if you can.

Trump LIED about building “hundreds of miles” of “new wall,” when he built about 50 miles. “I built hundreds of miles of wall, and I finished it, and then I said we have to build some more.” When Collins pushed back, he doubled down.

““Border Wall Status” report written by US Customs and Border Protection two days after Trump left office, about 458 miles of wall had been completed under Trump – but about 280 more miles that had been identified for wall construction had not been completed. The report said that at the time, just 52 miles of new wall had been constructed in locations where no barriers previously existed.”

Yes, Biden stopped building the stupid wall and DIVERTED the money to other projects for the border as the MILITARY deems fit, not a turnip fishing for votes with lies as bait.

“They are allowing an invasion of the United States which is treason.” As Trump’s title 42, with it’s revolving door policy causing repeat offenders, over and over and over, Biden is using Title 8 and currently apprehensions are down about 50%. Still not good enough, but hardly “treason.” Hyperbole much?

FYI: the downturn is in it’s infancy and it’s early yet. PLUS — Biden released a bunch of asylum seekers early to ease overcrowding —- so this is LONG from over: https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2023-05-18/border-crossing-numbers-biden-title-42

Sounding dismissive when you got no sand, got no facts, is all hat, no cow.

It appears that once again you are fabricating things like you fabricate that I drink alcohol because, for some insane reason, it pleases you to spew crappola.

There is NO LAW as you fabricated, it’s a freaking EO. Therefore, Democrats did not break any laws, you made that up too. You can’t name on law on immigration that Democrats are not upholding. Most of the invasion is asylum seekers, you call it treason but, in actuality it’s not only our law, but it’s a global agreement.

My facts stand. You have no proof except your lame, weak, “Around and around you go…”

BUSTED again for saying shit you can’t back up, you can’t support, so you revert to third grade responses.

          • mike f

Joe-What is it like to live in the delirium that is your mind? You state that you have told me what laws are being broken-no you haven’t mainly because none have been broken. And you say Trump and the Republicans funded the wall-clearly you have forgotten that Trump robbed the US military to pay for his wall-congress wouldn’t fund it when it was controlled by either Republicans or Democrats. Immigrants are not crossing the border where there are no walls-because those areas are out in the middle of no place-they are crossing near cities, and turning themselves into immigration authorities to avail themselves of the LAWs of the United States (a topic that you are obviously clueless of as you have demonstrated repeatedly in the past on numerous other subjects). You are throwing out words that sound good to you (treasonous action for instance), but because you can’t back those up, you just sound ignorant…

Whatever it is, it was reported as down 50% which is what I stated, but it is probably twice the average Trump numbers although below Trump’s high. Got me, but it is reported as 50% down which is a MASSIVE drop.

As you your “legal immigrants,” I think you are wrong as I believe it includes all deportations, and is the main reason that crossings are down. Trump’s title 8 created a revolving door, there was no consequences for trying again, which is part of the reason for the skyrocketing under Biden. But now that T42 is replaced by T8: “Unlike formal deportations under Title 8, expulsions under Title 42 did not impose immigration or criminal consequences on migrants, meaning those expelled to Mexico could repeatedly try to cross the border. Under Title 8, migrants who are deported are banned from entering the U.S. for at least five years. And if they reenter the U.S. unlawfully, they could face charges and jail time.”
    Furthermore,
“While those processed under Title 8 are typically deported to their home countries, Mexico recently agreed to accept Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan and Venezuelan deportees at the request of the U.S., which cannot conduct large numbers of deportations to these migrants’ home countries because of diplomatic and logistical reasons.”

    https://www.cbsnews.com/news/what-is-title-8-immigration-law-vs-title-42-border-policy/

    Not only that, but:
“In fact, the Biden administration has enacted a rule to make it more difficult for migrants to qualify for asylum in the first place and easier for the government to deport them. It is pairing that restriction and increased deportations with programs that allow migrants to enter the U.S. legally if they meet certain requirements.”

But wait, there’s more —- but I will let you read the piece. Happy learning.

Joe is factually reporting on Turnip’s title 42 process: around and around and around.

Biden boots em for five years. It’s the Law.
