Carly Fiorina on the Rise After Thursday Night's Debate
Carly Fiorina may have joined the Presidential race as an outsider, but she is quickly becoming an excellent politician. The world got a big dose of her astonishing communication skills during Thursday night’s debate – of which she was a clear winner – and follow up interview during which she tore into MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.
Carly Fiorina introduced herself to the world during the first Republican primary debate held at the Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday in Cleveland, Ohio. “My goal was to introduce myself to the American people,” she said during a post-debate interview. “Only 40% of Republican voters knew who I was before tonight.”
Carly performed well during the debate and many are regarding her as the “winner” of the evening. Her sharp, articulate style and no-nonsense way of speaking made her stand out from competitors.
It is a rare occurrence for one candidate to commend another, but Carly received quite the compliment from Rick Perry during the debate. If Carly had been the one to negotiate with Iran, then “maybe we would have gotten a deal where we didn’t give everything away,” said the former Texas Governor. The controversial deal with Iran was one of the primary topics of the night, along with the Planned Parenthood scandal and the issue of illegal immigration.
Like Donald Trump, Carly isn’t afraid to say what she thinks. “Did any of you get a phone call from Bill Clinton [before joining the race]?” asked Carly while looking directly at Trump. “I didn’t. Maybe it’s because I haven’t given money to the foundation or donated to his wife’s Senate campaign.”
In another impressive example of her blatant way of speaking, Carly tore into both Hillary Clinton and her hostile interviewer, Chris Matthews, during a post-debate interview on MSNBC. She skillfully dodged Matthews’ attempts to bait her while outlining Hillary’s lies and explaining how she would debate her female contender: “I would ask her why she declared victory in Iraq in 2011. Why she called Bashar al-Assad a positive reformer. Why she thought she could stop Putin’s ambition – I man I have met – with a gimmicky red reset button. I’ll ask her why she got every single foreign-policy issue wrong as Secretary of State.”
Carly has certainly achieved the goal of introducing herself to the American people. She even won some support from the left after a talk on MSNBC about small business. “We have to know what the engine of economic growth is,” she explained. “You know what it is? Small businesses, new businesses, family owned businesses.”
If ya'll say so, E.D., then it must be so. MSNBC vs PBP challenge and compare. Scandals, they pop up…
Whoops, I meant Robert.
