Liberal Judge Upholds NY Law Allowing Illegal Aliens Driving Licenses

This Christmas, certain leftist judges were playing Santa Clause to bring the illegal aliens in the country some of their most desirable presents. In New York, a federal judge brought a special “Green Light” to brighten the season for the privileged aliens as he ruled to uphold the liberal state’s Green Light Law that allows illegals to get a driving license.

Since the illegal aliens have been getting driving licenses easily in the liberal states as incentive for invading the country in the open-border seasons of the Democrats, a number of them have caused severe harm including death of Americans in road accidents both in and outside the blue states that issue them a driving license.

In 2019, New York passed the Driver’s License Access and Privacy Act. Dubbed as “Green Light Law,” this legislation ensured that  illegal aliens could get a driving license as it banned the authorities from asking applicants for proof of legal residency. The rationale of the liberal state law, as reported in Just the News (December 24) is mind-boggling: if you give the illegals a driving license, they would be less likely to drive without a driver’s license.

In February this year, the Trump administration brought a lawsuit against NY’s Green Light Law on the grounds that it bars federal immigration authorities from enforcing the immigration law, which would be a violation of their constitutional right. But as expected, a liberal activist judge threw cold water on the Trump administration’s challenge to the legislation. On Tuesday (December 23), U.S. District Judge Anne M. Nardacci rejected the DOJ’s challenge to the Green Light Law telling the DOJ that it has failed to prove its case.

Judge Nardacci’s motive in this ruling is visible – loyalty to the Democratic Party and the liberal political mission of illegal aliens over the US citizens, law, government, and constitution.

Anne M. Nardacci was appointed as a federal judge by Joe Biden in 2022 and was confirmed by the Senate in end of November that year. Four Republican senators joined their Democrat colleagues in confirming Nardacci: Lindsey Graham (SC), Mike Rounds (SD), Thom Tillis (NC), and John Kennedy (LA). Two Republican senators did not vote: Bill Hagerty (TN) and Ben Sasse (NE).

As of August 2025, 19 states issue driving licenses to illegal aliens: CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, IL, MD, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NM, NY, OR, RI, UT, VT, VA, and WA. The Trump DOJ has not issued a statement on their legal defeat in the federal court of NY over the Green Light Law. Conservative Americans, meanwhile, are calling it what it is – another scheme to destroy the country by the Democrats.

Also in NY, another leftist judge blocked the Trump administration from deporting a British citizen who holds a green card. Imran Ahmed, who is of Afghan descent, played a key role in the Biden administration’s war on free speech rights of conservative Americans. The Gateway Pundit reported (December 27) that within days of getting sanctioned by Trump’s State Department, Ahmed was shielded from arrest and deportation by a restraining order issued by Obama-appointed Judge Vernon S. Broderick of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of NY. The story wrote of Ahmed:

He was among five European nationals sanctioned this week with visa bans and deportation orders for what the State Department described as “organized efforts to coerce American platforms to censor, demonetize, and suppress American viewpoints they oppose.”

The Gateway Pundit was one of the conservative sources targeted by Ahmed’s organization Centre for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH). The site noted that Ahmed bragged about getting Google to demonetize The Gateway Pundit in 2021.
