Kamala Harris: Let’s Just Buy the Black Vote
Speaking Saturday at the Essence Festival (an event celebrating black culture), presidential hopeful Kamala Harris promised to invest $100 billion in housing assistance for black families as part of an effort to increase minority homeownership and close the racial wealth gap.
“A typical black family has just $10 of wealth for every $100 held by a white family,” said Harris. “So we must right that wrong and, after generations of discrimination, give black families a real shot at homeownership – historically one of the most powerful drivers of wealth in our country.”
So let’s give people free money…
In other words, Harris is buying votes.
Her immature plan focuses on red-lined communities, which are areas the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation has urged investors to avoid, and seeks to increase credit access for black families by altering crediting reporting standards to include utility and cell phone payments.
“My new policy will remove unfair barriers black Americans face when they go to qualify for a home loan,” tweeted Harris.
To qualify for housing assistance, applicants must have lived in a red-lined community for 10 years and must earn less than $50,000 per year ($75,000 in high cost areas). The federal grant would cover up to 20% of the loan value plus closing costs and could not be applied to homes that cost more than $300,000.
According to Harris, the plan would help 4 million families and shrink the wealth gap between blacks and whites by 31%.

In June during the debate in Miami, Harris attacked frontrunner Joe Biden over his opposition to using federally mandated busing to racially integrate schools in the 1970s.
A week later, polls showed Biden down 5 points and Harris up 6 points.
Now, Harris is offering black families money just because they are black. If this isn’t the very definition of racist, I don’t know what is. Harris claims she is fighting discrimination in the United States, but is offering money only to blacks. Just imagine what would happen if a Republican candidate offered housing assistance exclusively to white families.
Editor’s note: I know these are just campaign promises, and she cannot possibly put them into action, but Harris has just put an opening bid on the Black vote. Will any of the other candidates bid higher?
Kamala Harris is one of the biggest racists out there….And by the way, if this “plan” of hers is any indication, she obviously thinks that black people aren’t capable of getting jobs or buying houses without her help. With black unemployment at a historical low, with all of the job and career help and education that President Trump has made available, there is no reason not to be able to make a living.
If I were a black American I would be highly insulted by this incompetent, dishonest race monger, Harris.
Unfortunately, there are quite a few people who are perfectly willing to let the government provide for them from the cradle to the grave. The upside? They don’t need any funerals or grave markers since they never “lived”.
Harris is not even black! She is just pandering to them

Harris is racist with her plan, she like all the other democrats have nothing to run on but lies and empty promises, another Obama, the black community already has plenty of federal programs to help them without giving more
If Harris is correct in her assessments, the money she demands can only come from whites. I doubt that the majority of any race would happily surrender a large portion of their assets to another race on the flimsy reasoning that Harris spouting. This racism on steroids, to say nothing of an insult to every black person with even minimal cognitive ability.

Keep voting democrats and you will never get off the plantation . Blacks have never rose above their stature under a democrat or democrat president. But under a Republican they have been raised up and not put down .Actually look up the real history !

Isn’t this a form of racial profiling? I mean if white Americans are made to pay for, what Harris calls, “discrimination of blacks” , then they shouldn’t complain when they are stopped on the street by law enforcement because of their “color”. She believes all “whites” should be held responsible for slavery from years past. In her eyes, if you are white you are “guilty”. You now have her answer to “reparations”. Does her wonderful plan also call for theft from the Latino and Asian populace? Just wondering how they feel about that.

I agree with most of the comments and as a Black American will disagree with some. Nevertheless, Harris is trying to court the Black vote with the silly idea, we all think alike and as many so called leaders promote the “victimization argument” The gains made since end of the civil war were remarkable. And the challenge was not easy, the price paid was high in lives sacrificed for our rights as citizens. I resent anybody who will diminish that success earned. Nor do I appreciate any white/black leader who will insult my dignity and disrespect my humanity for political purposes. The democrats have lost direction through ignorance and desire to feather their own beds. A sure fire way to insure the re-election of Trump and many more votes from within the African American community. Despite finding Trump objectionable the issues he is confronting are real, I question the style used. At this junction in time, nobody else seem to meet my expectations as president except Trump.
