Is Putin about to win?

Is Putin about to win?

Having gone into medical oblivion for a week or so, I see what becomes of the world when I am not personally attending to matters.  As one example, it would appear that the situation for Ukraine has gone from bad to worse

Before getting into the issue, I will remind folks that I stand with Ukraine.  America’s objective should be the same as theirs – to defeat Putin.  That means the total withdrawal of Russian troops from all of Ukraine, Russia pays reparations, kidnapped Ukrainian children returned and Ukraine admitted to NATO.  That is what victory looks like.

Unfortunately, because President Biden’s too little/too late policy prolonged the war that might have been won early on — and President Trump’s lack of support for President Zelenskyy — the notion of a Putin defeat and a Ukraine victory appears to have evaporated.  The goal is now to achieve some sort of agreement that would cede the land that Russia currently occupies to Putin … an agreement that Russia would respect the new borders … and a rejection of NATO membership for Ukraine.  Other details – such as the fate of the kidnapped children — are unclear.

One of the most disturbing aspects of such a ceasefire or peace agreement is that there would be no security guarantees should Russia break the agreement and invade in the future.  Without a strict and enforceable security agreement – including the building of a powerful Ukrainian military – there is no reason to trust Putin.

He has a history of breaking agreements.  More importantly, Putin has long considered the subjugation of Ukraine the crown achievement in his maniacal effort to rebuild the old Soviet Union.  No piece of paper will end that ambition.

Trump does make an argument for ending the war on humanitarian grounds.  He seems sincere in that desire.  He often talks of the hundreds of thousands of men, women and children – civilians and combatants – who have already died.

Trump fails to appreciate that appeasement never saves lives.  The Neville Chamberlain agreement with Hitler in Munich was a prime example.  The “peace in our times” agreement with Hitler gave the Fuhrer more time to build his military forces and infrastructure. Any agreement with Putin promises to do the same.

Even if you ascribe to Trump’s humanitarian motivations, that does not justify is behavior toward Ukraine.  Saying that Zelenskyy is a “dictator” and started the war is a monumental baldfaced lie – and essentially Russian propaganda.

In calling for Putin to be re-admitted to the G7 – and agreeing to keep Ukraine out of NATO – Trump has conceded issues to Putin that should not ever have been proposed.  Putin has not earned his way into the G7.  In terms of NATO, Putin has clearly demonstrated why Ukraine must be admitted.

If Ukraine is eventually gobbled up by Russia, there will be two people to blame – President Biden and President Trump.

So, there ‘tis.

Larry, So glad that you are recovering from your medical issues-I would hate to go through the next 4 years without being able to say “I told you so” in my commentary back to you. You blame Biden for failing to support Ukraine early in the war, and in many ways I do as well. More weapons would have definitely been better. However, as I have pointed out to you in the past, had trump been elected in 2020, it is most likely that Ukraine would have seen no assistance from the US. The trumpster is in bed with Vlad, and his actions so far (with his ass licker SoS) have proven that. The final agreement that trump and his henchmen work out with Putin will not be to the benefit of Ukraine, you are dreaming if you think that he cares about the Ukrainian people, he sees that this war is seriously costing his buddy Vlad, and wants it to end so the hemorrhaging of cash in Russia stops, and he can legitimately request that the G7 becomes the G8 again. Trump has said that Russia was not responsible for this war, it was Ukraine’s fault. And he has backed up this line of thinking with his comments about taking back the Panama Canal, annexing Greenland, turning Gaza into a resort, and making Canada the 51st state. Truly not a president that (most) Americans can be proud of, more the thinking of the imperialistic leaders we had in the distant past….

How can you blame Biden for keeping Ukraine a free democracy and Trump, we will see, but looks like Trump is giving Ukrainians the Kurdish treatment when he abandoned the Syrians.

Methinks you are equivocating apples and oranges to rationalize your vote for the Felon Rapist King.

How you can even worry for Ukraine given the issues at home is weird. Good luck on your measles in Miami, hope you stay safe. Maybe RFKjr will send you some cod liver oil or vitamin a. Apparently the President’s response is mixed messages on vaccines and fixing autism, the real killer. Sigh. And fire healthcare, CDC, and NIH programs and people that would help.

Then there’s the planes falling out of the skies. I realize air travel was new in your time, but I flew a lot while working. I would always feel safer to book trips after an accident since that seemed the safest time of all. Not anymore. Under Trump’s FAA management, not Biden’s, planes are fucking up all over. I am guessing air travel will be down soon. On Trump’s watch he blamed DEI for the copter crash and he fixed that. But the planes keep falling.

California burned, South Carolina burned, heck — Long Island burned and it’s surrounded by water…… In 2025, under Trump we will set a record for number of wildfires. Soon, we will break the record for burned acreage too. Already had two die by tornado, a hot start to the season. In the February storm complex, under Trump’s watch, 14 died in Kentucky, at least 3 in WV, 2 in GA with over 23 tornado’s reported. Trump will shutter FEMA and let the State’s handle it. He frequently uses aid to extort perceived enemies to do his bidding on other issues. Hundreds of FEMA staff fired. Offices will be closed. Living in FL, I would have to imagine you have a voice here. Do you really think FL can do the job without FEMA? How about being on-your-own for the dollars? Frankly, that’s a tax benefit to NJ since we give more than we take. But I care and I say, some things, like FEMA do better with centralized management and funding than a distributed model where each state is on it’s own, resources and money.

And then there’s the eggs. Grocery prices promised to go lower on day one but by day 50, inflation at 2.8% is called a victory by team Trump. Far as I can tell, he fixed NAFTA, then declared his fix broken, and went to trade war status with our best friends. I can see that Thanksgiving at Trump’s must be special: “bring your own fucking turkey or go hungry. Do you think I’m running a charity around here and you can just chow down at my turkey trough?”

No, Horist, while I care for Ukraine, democracy and that shining city upon the hill, but my thoughts and priorities are closer to home than Europe. We gots trouble, right here in River City, and it starts with a …….. Trump made his deal with the devil long ago, we told you, we showed you all that Russian smoke, and you voted him in after he was convicted for business felonies, attempting to rig the 2016 election, sexual abuse, defamation, with his lawyers convicted of trying to rig the 2020 election against Biden. How many of his staff and advisors were convicted? He pardons all. You say OK. Same with the 1/6 seditionists and cop beaters, some with dangerous weapons. No, Horist, while I care for Ukraine, I see us going where no American thought we could go even as the founders warned us, over and over.

Good luck, I wish you well in recovery, Miami measles avoidance, and the fight for Ukraine. Putin will play out the parlay, perhaps accept some of Ukraine as his victory, and DT Chamberlain will tell us how it’s Bidens fault. Just like you are. But no —- Biden is sunk cost. Trump is current. And this is what he is doing to you, for you.

Ukraine need to stop being an American deep state proxy – that is the best and only security guarantee it can get against any Russian or other military action. Stay in your lane is the rule.

  4. frank danger

WTP seems Chamberlain to me on this one. Apparently, he thinks most of America is Deep State, when even Deep Maga and many of Trump’s billionaire elite support Ukraine over Russia rather than Russia over Ukraine like WTP.

Stay your lane, MAGA, America First, American Made, is more important to the WTPs of the world than: “”Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind” and “Love your neighbor as yourself.”

“And who is my neighbor?” Jesus responded with the story of a man beaten and left for dead, and then asked who would be a good neighbor to him. The lawyer answered that it was the Samaritan who showed mercy and helped the man.

‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” Except for WTP who wants to run and hide from Russian aggression. Here, kitty, kitty, kitty, what, he’s not a kitty, but a …….

“Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.”

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” FYI: Ukraine is 85% a Christian nation; Russia is 70% Christian but less than 10% openly practice.

Who made the “stay in your lane” rule? It’s a football saying for kick returns co-opted by professionals to kick the unknowledgeable out of the argument. No, WTP, neither you, Russia, or anyone else should keep Trump or America in their lane however that’s defined. We go as we please, thank you very much, and it pleases me to stop the aggressor in Ukraine. Even better if Ukrainians are the boots on the ground. And when Trump and WTP capitulates to Putin after Biden not only held him in check but launched attacks inside Putin’s homeland —– that’s your historic choice. You quit on Syria. You left your ally, the Kurds, to hang. You quit on Afghanistan and gave ISIS a full year to recruit, plan and prepare for Abbey Gate and then you blamed Biden for harvesting the seeds you planted. The world does not fear Captain Bonespur. And it looks like Putin will bend him over the table again, just like Syria.

  5. Dave Leach

I would like the article, and the comments, to address these differences from Neville Chamberlain’s model and from the notion that Putin will just break this agreement like he has those before it:

    1. If Russia attacks Ukraine while Americans are in Ukraine mining rare earth minerals essential to America’s defense and general economy, Putin will face direct American resistance. Not just limited weapons handled by Ukranians, which were enough to stalemate him for 3 years, but the full range of American weapons handled by Americans.

    2. The territories Russia occupies, or at least that Russia first occupied, are Russian-speaking populations. How clear is it that those areas even want to return to Ukranian control, with its own record of human rights abuses, manipulation by Biden kickbacks, and tainted and postponed elections?

    3. I’ll think of a #3 later.

    • Joe Gilbertson

Your remarks are on target, we can’t make Ukraine part of NATO, but we can establish U.S. interests there. This makes it much less likely that Russia will invade again.

Apparently the Russian speaking areas were gifted to Ukraine by the Soviet Union, because it didn’t really matter then. But they were historically part of the original Russian.

Russian has little interest in Ukraine proper, Putin is protecting his only warm water port, both naval and commercial. The Ukrainian had been messing with it, including cutting off its water supply. The U.S. under Biden fumbled this badly from start to finish.

  6. bobm

    Trump is playing 4-dimensional chess.

    Larry’s playing CandyLand.

Do you all realize you have no place commenting on such negotiations and can only expose (or tie) Trump’s hand?

He’s better at this than you. Shut up.

    • WeeEEE The People

Oh yeah let’s stop commenting. Lefties wanted to shut you up for questioning Biden. Now righties want the same for Trump. Speak of 2 sides of the same coin. Free speech has never been under attack like this in the history of this nation.

      • frank danger

WTP says that, in the time of Trump, when Republicans own the Three Branches of Government; the white house, the congress, and the judiciary —- that “Free speech has never been under attack like this in the history of this nation.”

        Go figure.

BobM says Trump is playing 4-dimensional chess and claims: ” you have no place commenting on such negotiations and can only expose (or tie) Trump’s hand?” Like Trump has a hand? Well, he did tell Zelensky he holds all the cards so he better behave the way JDVance screamed at him to and say “thank you, thank you, thank you……” Larry has every right; it says so in the Bill of Rights. Give it a rest; Trump is making Ukraine give up things and Trump is offering things to Putin. He sold out the Kurds, the Syrians, so there’s no reason to believe he won’t cave to Putin again.

Wampler says: ” Quit trying to quote the Bible. You lefties are no fans of faith. Unless it’s in a totalitarian government.” That’s right folks, the Wampler wants to censor people quoting Jesus and thinks those who do liars. He refuses to hear the words of the Lord. Go figure.

Boys, get real. Every proposal Trump has made gives Putin more, Ukraine less. Ukraine is holding it’s own against overwhelming odds and Trump wants to quit, give Putin stuff. As Putin expands, gains more resources, America loses. Where Trump and you are in all this may yet to be seen, but the initial proposals caving to Putin and extorting Ukrainian rare metals does not sound like the shining city on the hill to me.

        • WeeEEE The People

Why does Putin only expand when Democrats hold the White House? Crimea (2014) – Obama, and Donbas (2022) – Biden. Such an obvious pattern! Putin is not the enemy, the deep state is. And for other countries – Syria fell to terrorists under Biden, Afghanistan under Biden, Benghazi (Libya) under Obama, and you name it. You spell your name DANG-er? 🙂

          • frank danger

WTP falsely spews: “Syria fell to terrorists under Biden.” Uh, you mean Putin and Assad? Trump pulled out, the Kurds were sacrificed, the civil war against Assad tilted to Assad/Putin’s favor as Trump most assuredly ran for the hills. “‘Trump betrayed us’: Fleeing Kurds condemn U.S. decision to leave Syria.”
            (NPR) *https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/trump-betrayed-us-fleeing-kurds-condemn-u-s-decision-die*
Benghazi is a city in Libya. Libya fell to Muammar Gaddafi in 1969, Nixon who was a Republican and a crook, sound familiar? Not a convicted Felon though. If you are speaking about the Benghazi Raid, that indeed happened under Biden, but most would not call that a war, or that land was taken.

I would note that Trump killed his first serviceman in his first month in office, 2017. Give it a rest, get some facts. Because Trump is not transparent, he rarely speaks to bad news when it occurs and often lies when he speaks.

During Donald Trump’s first term, 65 service members were killed in hostile action, compared with 16 during a top-secret raid in Yemen. Trump said we would rain hell upon the Houthi’s; 31 men, women and children died. Trump blamed the SEAL death on his Generals and Obama because no buck stops here. Three months later, against al-Shabaab in Somalia, another SEAL went down, and out, under Trump’s expansion of the war while losing the rules of engagement so more civilian women and children would die than under Obama. A lot more. Trump put special forces in over 80 countries during this period, many told him that this was “unsustainable” but he did not stop. The US Special Operations Commander testified to Congress that: “Rather than a mere ‘break-glass-in-case-of-war’ force, we are now proactively engaged across the battle space.”

In August of 2017, a suicide bomber killed two U.S. soldiers while traveling in a convoy near Kandahar. Trump never called the widow. Also, in August, 10 sailors died at sea east of the Malacca Strait. Trump claimed he talked to the families, he did not. By October 2017, in Niger, militants ambushed and killed four U.S. soldiers. Trump did not publicly speck of the troops’ deaths for 12 days and only spoke out when reporters nailed him. Then he lied about Obama not calling families as he said he wrote letters to these. One mother said he disrespected her son, he reportedly told the grieving widow of Sgt. La David T. Johnson that her husband “must have known what he signed up for.” Ultimately he blame the Navy because the buck no stop here.

In January 2019: In Syria, an ISIS suicide bomber killed four Americans, including two U.S. soldiers on the same day Pence declares ISIS had “been defeated.” Trump did nothing in response to the ISIS attack and pulled out our troops. In December of 2019, a guy fromthe Royal Saudi Air Force allowed and vetted to take flight training at Naval Air Station Pensacola killed three U.S. sailors and severely wounded eight other Americans at the base. Trump did nothing except thank the Saudi’s.

In January 2020, Al-Shabaab killed one U.S. soldier and two U.S. civilian contractors for the Department of Defense. About 30 to 40 Al-Shabaab fighters launched the attack, which also destroyed six U.S. aircraft. Trump said and did nothing.

In March 2020: Kataib Hezbollah launched a rocket attack against the Taji Military base in Iraq, killing two U.S. soldiers. They are proxies of Iran. Trump said and did nothing for days finally hit a few targets without confirming damage.

After Trump responded to reporters’ questions about what the U.S. would do to respond to the attacks, he said, “We’ll see what the response is.” The Pentagon announced a few days later that the U.S. launched strikes targeting the Iranian-backed group responsible for the attack. Congress, including Republicans, was “largely silent” on these attacks.

Perhaps no wars under Trump, but plenty of attacks with dead Americans that we are just not told about.

          • frank danger

Obama, not Biden, for ownership of Benghazi raid. my bad, sorry.

  7. AC

It’s plain why this country can’t get its together. If the nonsensical non debate on the points Larry brings up is par for the course for those playing on Trump 2.0 links, this is going to be a bad golf season.
How Trump and Vance behaved toward Zelensky in the Oval was generally bad diplomatic form. The planned the bully 2 on 1 for TV optics. By and large their self proclaimed brilliant plan made a big news splash but it backfired on them. So, Trump back peddled and denied much of what he said.
Do, Team Trump ginned up a smoke screen in distracting issues like Gulf of America, Panama Canal take over, and Making Canada a State. Those can not be serious policy moves. He has no authority to make any of that happen and should he keep it going it will not end well for him
His economic policy with weaponizing tariffs against Lon time allies, import-export partners, and neighbor countries has no merit.
In the last weeks he has said so many self contradictory statements and mispronounced and mis- used vocabulary in incomplete sentences that his people must be embarrassed for him.
Then, he issue an edict short of an executive order that certain words on his hate list must be eliminated from the English vocabulary because he Pres. Trump declares these words are WOKE in his book.
What until Ms Press Secretary starts ejecting credentialed press corp people for use of unacceptable words.
Trump is shooting himself in the foot again with this idea, His breadth of vocabulary is underwhelming and limited as it is, he can’t afford to loose any of the words on his list. In fact, he can’t define or use most of the listed words.
Again, although he was given the win for POTUS his position do owed have limits. He can’t over rule gravity or the number of days in the year or make leap year happen ever 6 years. But that doesn’t seem to constrain Trump and his alternate reality.. when he believes something in his view does not benefit him then with his regard alone that one time reality must be reordered as befits his wishes. Gulf of America has become something of a sticking point in the White House’s Press Room. That body of water can not be mentioned by any other name or Ms Press Secretary will have your press badge.
If the word “unprecedented” has a negative connotation, it is Trump and his presidency that fills that bill to maximum never before been seen done.
Never before has a POTUS run so far amok that only his short sighted unrealistic supporters do not wonder if the man is all there upstairs.
When will enough be enough? Gifting Ukraine to Putin for his goodness sake, as Trump would have us believe. Does anyone not see helping Putin win as Un-American as it had been for all things Russian
Larry is on the right track with regards to Ukraine and our responsibility to them as allies against Russia. Sadly, his party and its man Trump do not see things in the same way as Larry.

IMO Larry has always been right on Ukraine. Perhaps we were too slow since if we had listened, we wouldn’t be looking down THIS barrel Trump’s gun extorting minerals from Zelensky and giving land and other benefits to Putin. Horist and I have disagreed on specific actions and speeds, but agree that Putin is the aggressor, he is out of bounds, and we need to take a major role in stopping him. Also, we are amazed Ukraine still stands. Perhaps a message from God.

If Putin had a border dispute, there are proper, legitimate, humane channels to pursue his claim. Nobody voted for Putin to come on in. He’s well beyond any atrocities there in the past and a world court found zero substantiation to Putin’s claims of atrocities from 2014 to 2022, covering Trump 1, in the Donbas region. Folks who still spew that spew Russian propaganda of the false reality type.

You don’t take land because they speak your language. You don’t murder civilians indiscriminately or for effect. And we consider communism replacing democracy, by force, to be a wrong worth righting. Maybe some of you don’t:

“Ukraine need to stop being an American deep state proxy” says WTPeople supporting the American MAGA-State Putin proxy.

Jim Wampler added: “here is no commandment to put other countries before our own,” unless it’s Putin’s country….

Dave Leach seems to think the answer is let Putin have Ukraine and somehow our mining agreement will be valid and our presence will save Ukraine. I say “great,” and add let’s put our miners there and kick Putin out. If we make language define sovereign borders, we gonna need a lot more map makers…. What do they speak in Greenland?

Tough guy Joe adds: “we can’t make Ukraine part of NATO.” I ask, why not? Because Putin says so?

WTP says: “Putin is not the enemy; the deep state is.” Yes, WTP made that statement that even after Trump has cleaned the government, the deep state is STILL the enemy and PUTIN is not our enemy. And WTP said that on Larry’s article, said it on Joe’s site where Joe owns what is published. Remember, Trump fixed the deep state first in 2017-2020 and now he’s telling you he’s doing the same again over.

WTP likes Putin more than Democrats, more than liberals, more than RINOS. He’s Putin’s man, just like Trump.

I spell my name: danger. I deal in facts.

Let’s be clear: asking Zelensky to resign is about an unamerican as anything seen in our close to 250 years of existence. Zelensky is his country’s George Washington, a warrior President fighting the aggressor, Putin. Zelensky brought democracy to Ukraine, he is a founding father in that respect. And he is at war; imagine in our Revolutionary War if we asked Washington, our Commander-In-Chief, to step aside. Yeah, right, that woulda worked. Fact is he is at war, there is martial law, as expected, and his Constitutions says no elections during Martial Law. Done. Ours is more obtuse, the President could try, but it’s not specific in the Constitution.

This is stupid. This is wrong. We should support Ukraine, not tear them apart for Putin’s pleasure.

As Graham stated the morning before he turned on Zelensky: Zelensky and brave Ukrainians have used our arms to defend their nation against the sole aggressor, Putin’s Russia, against the free people of Ukraine. No American soldiers have been killed; the Ukrainians are holding Russia at bay. Russia has taken Crimea; they have taken the eastern boundary region. Russia has lost control of the Black Sea and Ukraine has no Navy. Russia has lost an overwhelming number of men and machines and needs to outsource to China, North Korea, and mercenaries to continue it’s aggression.

Why we are changing sides in this, or leaving Ukraine to the Kurd’s fate, is not American. This is not a fight we should go Chamberlain on, especially if our give is weapons and intelligence, not boots on the ground. If Trump was the man, he would double down on the arms and win the war.

As Trump gets revenge over Zelensky using JD as his gullible hit man, he shows his hand how deep he will go. He would sacrifice our support of Ukraine for his personal retribution. He goes after 1/6 prosecutors; that really lets you know how low he will go. As low as he can, and then some. Remember, this is just the first round. This is Trump unchained, but there is no machinery in place. Next round his minions will dive deeper. And remember, Musk has all of our data. Even you conservatives may hit a Musk tripwire and need to be sacrificed for “purity” reasons. Good luck all.

Putin stands against the US and everything in our Constitution. WTP says he likes Putin and what he stands for more than half of the people in America. A house divided cannot stand. I cannot stand what WTP says and thinks.

DANGer’s rant is hilarious as he repeats the familiar lies of globalist propaganda networks and takes the words of other liars to pretend that he has a brain. A pretty lame and failed attempt!

DANGer quotes Graham when it suits him as if Graham is a credible voice but quickly adds “the morning before he turned on Zelensky…” His source is a Republican who votes Democrat on important bills half of the time and lies nearly 100 percent of the time. A tell-tale case of political bromance between two very similar men.

Previously DANGer had goes quiet on why it has been under Obama and Biden only that Russia takes chunks of Ukraine by war. Are Obama and Biden not man enough to defend Ukraine? I think the answer is clear, and we don’t need DANGer to come up with the courage to speak the truth.

As Trump tries to save lives by negotiating peace, DANGer’s owners are sore and so is their ideological slave. He starts stomping his feet and whines about Trump doing this and doing that. Suddenly he also remembers Musk as a villain so he blows a little whiny fart there as well.

DANGer is part of the anti-American and anti-humanity evil that has been destroying this world. It’s time to stand up to these criminals and put them in their political coffins. I am glad that DANGer can’t stand what I say as it moves me to say it more and louder.

      • frank danger

WTP makes many erroneous conclusions but offers no facts, no sources, no proof to his often-insane allegations. He claims his proof that I am a liar is that he does not believe my sources. But he offers no facts, no sources to that delusional claim.

Then he veers into other topic, diverts, and always blames his perceived opposition as enemies to be vanquished and put into a “political coffin.” I believe that in a Democracy, with free speech as the first right, that discussion together is the best way to join together with joint solutions to help our people move forward. I do like the argument, but my goal is understanding the truth using facts, experts, statistics, etc. I think WTP has other goals in mind. He certainly is not in a discussion if he can’t answer a single question, can’t support his allegations, accusations, or even stay on point.

I offer facts, valid sources, and WTP says they are all lies because they are all liars. And that’s his proof that I am a liar. He offers no proof.

As he makes these inane allegations, he offers no proof. He does not answer one question posed to him on his “facts,” allegations, and scuttlebutt. Not one answer. But he believes Trump.

“DANGer’s rant is hilarious as he repeats the familiar lies of globalist propaganda networks.” Which are the lies of globalist propaganda networks and what is an example of the globalist propaganda network. I am betting you cannot answer? Let me guess; you will respond with a question. Can you answer who is the globalist network, can you name names? Or are you just barking at the moon like a dog?

Graham said what he said as a Trump surrogate; as to the fact you do not like Graham, get in line. But he did say it, he does support Trump and Trump supports him. WTP seems very comfortable with “bromance” though. He chronicles all the good bromances, think he has a list. Ironic, ain’t it how you have issues with facts but love a good bromance.

“Previously DANGer had goes quiet on why it has been under Obama and Biden only that Russia takes chunks of Ukraine by war. Are Obama and Biden not man enough to defend Ukraine?” See, no answers, but another question. Oh no, he’s penis-shaming again. Obama killed Bin Laden. Obama killed more ISIS, less civilians than Trump’s campaign which followed Obama’s plan but increased civilian casualties by lowering barriers to the rules of engagement. Many think Obama was playing it too tight, Don loosened that and more civilians died as a result. The pace did pick up though.

Obama had taken more than 50% of ISIS lands back when he handed it to Don. ISIS was the strongest terrorist group out there when Don handed it to Joe after claiming “mission accomplished,” but it wasn’t. Don launched his first defeated-ISIS attack 2/25 in Somalia.

From Oxford Academic: “This chapter shows that, despite Trump’s claims to the contrary, he did not entirely defeat Islamic State, and it was not him or — rather — him alone who had achieved the military successes against the group. The campaign consisted of three distinct phases. After some hesitation, Obama made defeating Islamic State a priority, created a plan and structure, and executed a significant part of the military campaign. Trump’s “generals” continued implementing this strategy, albeit with the new “rules of engagement” that involved greater risks in return for faster, more decisive operations. Trump’s personal involvement was limited to the last phase, in which he declared victory over Islamic State and announced a pull-out of American forces from Syria. In doing so, he contradicted his own administration’s policy, alienated allies, strengthened America’s adversaries, and emboldened the nearly defeated Islamic State.”

Well, the Biden ceasefire in GAZA ended under Trump’s watch as Trump designs beach condos. Another war he said he could end asap.

This space is becoming more about personal cracks and political harassment than a focus in the particular topic brought out in the article and the author’s opinion in it.
Free speech is all well and good, but what’s the point if what is spoken is senseless unproductive personal attacks.
Attacks on Putin’s character, morality, ethics, and relationship with Trump are fair game and it’s always open season on Putin. But, the same degree of free speech used on Putin is not that free when speaking, writing commentary, and being wild personal charges against another person for expressing their much different views.
Limiting free speech only to those who agree with us and speak in a confirming way about one world view alone is acceptable.
That’s how divisions are formed, people only listen to what is consistent with their own personal belief system and often relish beating others over the head with the club that sets them apart.
Others, is a weird term draws a line separating the individual from the rest of humanity. So’ the majority is full of “others”.
All people in creation have at least one thing in common. They are the other person to every individual outside them selves.
Life would be impossible if not for others contributions to our well being. Why beat up on others when at anytime others may retaliate in kind.
