Fauci Covered Up His Role in the Spread of Covid-19

As the truth is revealed, it is now widely accepted that the Covid-19 pandemic was due to an unintentional leak of a man-manipulated virus from a lab in Wuhan, China.

Appearing before Congress, former National Intelligence Director John Ratcliffe testified that Covid-19 was the result of gain-of-function manipulation that leaked from the lab. That, he emphasized, has been clearly established by both intelligence, science, and common sense.

So, what about the role of Dr. Anthony Fauci in all of that?

Fauci first won national fame for his handling of the HIV crisis in the 1980s as head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) – but not before he was widely criticized for not being responsive to the disease ravaging the gay community.  Aids activist Larry Kramer called out Fauci as “an incompetent idiot” and a tool of the establishment.  (Sound familiar?)

Fauci eventually won general public acclaim for his handling of the Aids epidemic – based more on public relations than medical judgment.  But still not among the most affected community.

Sean Strub– an entrepreneur and major LGBTQ fundraiser – retained an unflattering view of Fauci’s role.  In a 2017 commentary in HuffPost, Staub accused Fauci of “delaying promotion of an AIDS treatment that would have prevented tens of thousands of deaths in the first years of the epidemic.” In terms of his reputation, Staub said Fauci was “rewriting history.” (Sound familiar?)

As with the Aids epidemic, Fauci was wrong before he was right in terms of Covid-19.  As Covid appeared in China, Fauci assured President Trump and the nation that it would not be a major problem in the United States.

In several media interviews at the time, Fauci said Covid-19 was “not a major threat” to the American public – with the risk being “very low.”  He initially underestimated the virus’ communicability and flip-flopped on the effectiveness of masks as a preventative measure and who should be vaccinated – and when.

What Fauci did not voluntarily reveal was his personal role in the funding of gain-of-function research in the Wuhan lab that created the virus.  Not only did he provide money to the lab, but he did so by bypassing the normal procedures that would have put the decision before a government committee.

He circumvented the system and made it appear that the money was not used in the development of the Covid-19 virus.  He lied – and arguably perjured himself before congressional committees.

When Robert Redfield – head of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) — suggested that there was a high probability that Covid-19 escaped from the Wuhan lab, Fauci accused him of making false statements.  It cost Redfield his job.

It was Fauci, however, who distracted attention from the lab in China – and headed off any serious investigation of that possibility – seemingly to conceal his role in both the development of the virus and the cover-up as to its source.

Fauci has proven to be more effective at public relations and bureaucratic maneuvering than medical and scientific advice.  It has made him and his wife – who is employed by the National Institutes of Health – the highest-paid bureaucrats in America.

They have amassed millions of dollars of income – not only from Uncle Sam but private sources.  That includes the questionable practice of sharing royalties from his government work.

Fauci has retired from his 38 years as head of NIAID — and that is a benefit for the country and the role of government in medicine.  However, the issue of his role in the Covid-19 pandemic is still a hot issue that dogs his reputation.

So, there ‘tis.

The story has a lot of allegations, but it’s a bit them on the supporting evidence. For example, who’s watch really. This research was illegal under Obama, legal under Trump I believe.

I do believe this was a man-made virus that somehow leaked from a China lab. I think Tom has much of the evidence, but as most see, it’s such a complex story that it’s hard to figure out what exactly happens still. We need to know. One reason I feel it is a man-made virus, is that a similar allegation was made for the Spanish flu as resulting from all the chemicals used on the boys in the dank trenches who ended up in the hospitals as human incubators. Can’t be proven, correlation is not causation, but these are two of the widest spreading, highly resilient, and deadly viruses we have ever seen.

I think it is important, that we understand anything that may have resulted in this pandemic, I think you have a long way to go to tie Fauci directly to this pandemic. From my understanding, while Fauci may have and probably did fund gain of function studies in China, I have not seen proof that he directly funded this lab for this pandemic or that anything illegal is done. Like you, I would love to see full disclosure.

As the pandemic occurred, Fauci was one of the best defenders that America had, IMO. The rest bowed to Trump and his comments were off the wall wrong, bad, and sometimes deadly. Red States suffered more, on average.

I think more important than Fauci‘s gain of function. Research will be getting to the bottom of the results of the US response, but most importantly, how we do better or even better, avoid the next one.

in my humble opinion, Trump, Biden, Redfield, Fauci, Walensky, that dumb bitch that used to parrot Trump from the CDC, and the rest all failed miserably. Biden continues to fail today.

Mask work, social distancing, works, shut, downs, work, however, all must be used correctly. For example, it now appears that school shut downs were good, but we shut down for too long. It appears that shut down to work, however, do not need to be deployed nationally. Just where the damage is occurring. There are a number of models, mostly in Asia, where the response resulted in far better outcomes and seen in the United States. There are other models I worked better. We need to know this. We need to know that only what we failed, but what we need to do better next time.

The US response failed miserably. Our results, based on statistics, are some of the worst amongst developed nations.

At this point, I see nothing in place that would provide better results next time.

At this point, I see nothing occurring to make that better.

Yes, we developed a vaccine quickly. And then we couldn’t convince people to use it. That’s not exactly success.

To me, whether Fauci funded gain of function studies or not as far less priority, and making sure we are better prepared for the next one.

Very good points and blog Larry.

I think Dr. Fauci’s greatest crime is the willful deception he put into play during the Trump administration when he had already been shut down by the Obama administration in 2015. Rand Paul showed the funding request and gave its number on a news report for all to look up. And I did just that! There is no doubt among anyone I know of that we were funding gain of function in Wuhan Lab. And Dr. Zheng Li’s 2018 document which was written for our NIH proves this. Her document also shows that Peter Daszak, President of Eco Health Alliance (see resume at *https://www.ecohealthalliance.org/personnel/dr-peter-daszak*) based in Australia but with office in the USA was the intermediary between Dr. Fauci’s NIH funding and Wuhan Lab Dr. Zheng Li, whom is also on staff of the People’s Liberation Army of China. This is written on Page 1 of Dr. Zheng Li’s 2018 paper in the credits. The NIH was the clear recipient of her research paper, and thus one of the benefactors of the research.

What is at issue is exactly how it got out into the public, from the lab, or the zoonotic spread by jumping species. And the Chinese are covering up that info. They will not release the lab’s virus inventory at the time of the Wuhan disaster, nor will they release the health records and inspection records of the people working in the lab that coincidentally got sick at the same time. The WHO has tried unsuccessfully at least twice that I know of to get this information from China, and has failed. And then there is the issues surrounding Dr. Li Wengliang. Dr. Li Wenliang and the Time of COVID-19” was reprimanded (after reporting and sounding the initial alarm to the Chinese government) initially for ‘‘disrupting public order’’ in China when he first reported the outbreak in Wuhan. They confined him and he died a criminal’s death a few weeks later. Cause of death has never been released. You can read this story in the NIH public database at *https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7262218/*

To Franks Stetson’s point, I agree that nothing seems to have changed. The CDC wasted 25 days in getting the information to vaccine developers according to one of the researchers that was eagerly awaiting the CDC data back then. As far as I know, there have been no changes in procedures to fast track data to vaccine developers in cases of national epidemic emergencies. CDC still seems to reign supreme over all internationally shared data. And we still have many anti-vaxers in the country. We will continue to squabble over the effectiveness of masks. Funding shortfalls will continue to drive hiring shortages that will twart and frustrate any CDC attempts to get out in front of emerging viruses in foreign countries. International relations will continue to be at a low ebb thereby discouraging any sharing of critical data, as countries will fear being held accountable and subjected to reparations. And God only help us if such and outbreak occurs during a world war – as this kind of outbreak will defeat armies faster than bullets, bomb, and missiles ever could do. Hence the dangers of bio warfare have been verified yet developments of bio agents still exists in some countries disguised as “research” for good causes by such countries as China. And government cover ups will continue to happen.

But there is some light to shed and successes to be shared:

    1) Dr. Fauci is gone.
    2) Gain of Function research has been publicly condemned and the people now know the dangers.
    3) The US War Powers act was successfully implemented to make ventilators (some we shared with China).
    4) FDA rules were amended to allow for the emergency re-channeling of consumable alcohol to medicinal hand sanitizer alcohol.
    5) Rigorous tests and data collection on efficacy of mRNA vaccines, and fast tracked implementation of the vaccines. Thank you both Trump and Biden.
    6) The US has awakened to how China can weaponize dual use technologies, even research, to make bio weapons, and the US now knows it must be careful not to provide such funding.
    7) The world now understands and has exposed the international villain nature of the Chinese government and how China will hide data and not cooperate with WHO when it is in China’s interests.
    8) Many countries were helped by US mRNA vaccines making the US a clear world leader in this technology.
    9) US now clearly understands it’s supply chain vulnerability to China and is doing something about it. This means more US jobs in the USA.
    10) The USA now has SARS immunity it did not previously have pre-Covid-19. It remains to see how long this immunity will last.

But to Frank’s point, yes, there is still much work to be done domestically and internationally to ensure such epidemics do not happen again. And if an epidemic does occur (many virologists expect one epidemic every five years) that we have the emergency laws, procedures, and processes in place for quick containment and protection of our population.

Tom, based on what you know, and you’re one of the best people I know on this, look up the situation under factcheck.org. While it will not change your conclusions, I wonder if it might modify some of them.

I wish someone would describe this in a couple of paragraphs…

    • Tom

Frank, I tried my best but its more than “a couple” paragraphs, but I hope I connected the dots in an understandable way. See below. For the ending, just go back to my original answer to this blog.

    • Tom

Frank, in an earlier Larry blog at *https://punchingbagpost.com/energy-dept-blames-covid-on-wuhan-lab/* I stated how Dr. Zheng Li and her staff at WIV developed this virus which is clearly gain of function just as Senator Rand Paul stated. I got this right from Dr. Zheng Li’s Nov 2017 paper. You can see my full explanation there. Here is the paragraph where I explained it:

      https://punchingbagpost.com/energy-dept-blames-covid-on-wuhan-lab/

A quick review, here is the key paragraph:

“ In the current study, we successfully cultured an additional novel SARSr-CoV Rs4874 from a single fecal sample using an optimized protocol and Vero E6 cells. Its S protein shared 99.9% aa sequence identity with that of previously isolated WIV16 and it was identical to WIV16 in RBD. Using the reverse genetics technique we previously developed for WIV1 [23], we constructed a group of infectious bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) clones with the backbone of WIV1 and variants of S genes from 8 different bat SARSr-CoVs. Only the infectious clones for Rs4231 and Rs7327 led to cytopathic effects in Vero E6 cells after transfection (S7 Fig). The other six strains with deletions in the RBD region, Rf4075, Rs4081, Rs4085, Rs4235, As6526 and Rp3 (S1 Fig) failed to be rescued, as no cytopathic effects was observed and viral replication cannot be detected by immunofluorescence assay in Vero E6 cells (S7 Fig). In contrast, when Vero E6 cells were respectively infected with the two successfully rescued chimeric SARSr-CoVs, WIV1-Rs4231S and WIV1-Rs7327S, and the newly isolated Rs4874, efficient virus replication was detected in all infections (Fig 7). To assess whether the three novel SARSr-CoVs can use human ACE2 as a cellular entry receptor, we conducted virus infectivity studies using HeLa cells with or without the expression of human ACE2. All viruses replicated efficiently in the human ACE2-expressing cells.”

  5. Tom

Frank, I am not sure what article you wish me to review on factcheck.org so I picked the latest article which deals with Fauci and the question, “Did Fauci influence scientist’s opinions towards the zoonotic origin of SARS Covid-19 by issuing grants?” This article is found at *https://www.factcheck.org/2023/03/scicheck-no-evidence-scientists-received-grant-for-changing-opinion-on-pandemic-origins-contrary-to-claims/*

I seriously doubt that Fauci used grants to directly bribe scientists’ opinions. So I doubt he said anything like, “I’ll give you a $1 Million dollar grant if you back my zoonotic cause of Covid-19 release. This would be too obvious. But what he could have easily done as the top person in the NIH is structure the scope of work of the grant in a manner that scientists look toward finding possible zoonotic causes and look away from the lab leak theory. And then formulate all the discussion around the zoonotic causes as a means of indirectly discrediting the lab leak theory so as to cover up the fact that we funded this dangerous research and Fauci’s fingerprints are all over the money. I do believe he did this. And I think he did this because he had deceived the POTUS, Congress, and the US OIG (Office of Inspector General).

Fauci said “The NIH has never funded gain of function research.” He is correct but misleading, a slight of hand kind of statement. The NIH has never funded such dangerous research directly, but they did fund Australian based company EcoHealth Alliance as a pass through account for the eight subawards to eight subrecipients, including the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) which is clearly stated in the OIG’s audit report at *https://oig.hhs.gov/oas/reports/region5/52100025.asp*. And Doctor Zheng Li acknowledges this funding stream in her research report which was given directly to the NIH (as a contract deliverable product) at *https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5708621/* The link between NIH, EcoHealth Alliance, and Wuhan Lab Dr. Zheng Li is the president of EcoHealth Alliance Peter Daszak.

And the OIG confirms this funding path from NIH via EcoHealth Alliance to subcontractor Wuhan Institute of Virology in their aforementioned audit report. Congressman Burgess in his report at *https://burgess.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=403274* and corroborated by the aforementioned OIG report confirms 1) Fauci knew of the funding stream and dangerous research as early as July 2019; 2) Fauci was deceptive in his funding descriptions and did not monitor his subcontractors hired by EcoHealth Alliance – one of them being the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV); 3) Fauci and NIH failed to monitor the subcontractors for adherence to all safety procedures for such dangerous research that is illegal in the USA. This is in the OIG audit report. I believe this failure to audit their subcontractors was deliberate because audit results would have gone to departments like the OIG, Congress, who would have raise a big red flag even if the audit results were good!

Next I believe Dr. Fauci and Wuhan engaged in a cover up where they wiped the data, or secured it so classified that it would never be given over by the Chinese government (CPC often called CCP). And the CPC covered up Dr. Li Wenliang’s death as a political incarceration and of course they knew he was going to die. It was just a matter of shutting his mouth for a few weeks. So at this point the World Health Organization could not get the data on the following: WIV virus inventory, health records of those WIV four employees that got sick in September to November 2019, Dr. Wenliang’s death records, and experiment data which appears to have been wiped from accessible databases. So at this point, Fauci feels safe that his zoonotic story will get legs, he’s safe, evidence is secure or gone.

By December 2019 we know that on Dec 29th, Xi Jinping called D. Trump and told him that a bad virus is coming to the USA and that it is “real bad”. This is why Trump wanted to close the airports but he got much pushback on this. Eventually he was successful. Xi allowed travelers to continue going to Italy, UK, Germany, USA despite knowing how “real bad” the virus was becoming. It was so “real bad” that by November 2019 China had built a complex of eleven small warehouse size triage tents to treat virus victims, as noted by our satellite images of Wuhan back then. Trump would have had these pictures. Another thing that was not publicly disclosed was that three independent laboratories, one in the UK, one in France, and one in the USA all analyzed the virus and noted the same conclusion: This kind of genome and replication matrix shown in this virus cannot naturally occur. You can see hospital traffic, parked cars, going way up in October 2019 at *https://abcnews.go.com/International/satellite-data-suggests-coronavirus-hit-china-earlier-researchers/story?id=71123270* and the “instant hospital pods at
As a virologist from Harvard U says, Paul Digard, an expert in virology at the University of Edinburgh, said that using search engine data and satellite imagery of hospital traffic to detect disease outbreaks “is an interesting idea with some validity.” (this uptick in hospital traffic was first noticed in Latin America during a virus outbreak in 2010.)

But he said the data were only correlative and – as the Harvard scientists noted – cannot identify the cause.
“It’s an interesting piece of work, but I’m not sure it takes us much further forward,” said Keith Neal, a professor of the epidemiology of infectious diseases at Britain’s Nottingham University.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying, asked about the research at a news briefing on Tuesday, said: “I think it is ridiculous, incredibly ridiculous, to come up with this conclusion based on superficial observations such as traffic volume.

The Harvard research, which was posted online as a so-called preprint, showed a steep increase in hospital car park occupancy in August 2019.
I think the virus started with a violation of procedures in the WIV. This was noticed all the way back in 2015 before Obama stopped Fauci’s gain of function experiments in the WIV. Dr. Wenliang probably treated some of the people known to have gotten sick in the WIV, and he was known to be a shopper at the wet market in Wuhan. He was treating patients and got the virus himself. And most likely he transmitted it to patients he was seeing before he knew he had the virus. And thus the two points of transmission, lab leak and wet market (zoonotic). Because of population density being so great in big Chinese cities, the virus found a perfect place to spread. And back to Doctor Zheng Li’s paper, the virus was able to easily attach to human cells – because they engineered it this way! By October 6, 2019 hospital traffic and plans for instant hospitals were already in the works. See the pic at *https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2020/09/10/909688913/whatever-happened-to-the-instant-hospitals-built-in-wuhan-for-covid-19-patients* So the virus most likely started sometime in August to September, 2019 – another fact that Fauci denies, but all of the evidence points this way!

    • Frank stetson

Or something like that. My takeaways are that the US, through Fauci, funded gain of function research. The labs were not secure. Somebody left the lab and infected others somewhere.

As to the rest, even in your incredibly detailed description, thank you very much, there are parts that seem to defy logic as to how China reacted, how Trump reacted, etc. If either of these two entities really knew how bad this thing was, why would they react like that. Also, I have not seen that you can determine a virus is man-made based in the matter that you have that’s far. Not that I don’t believe it, I just have not seen that. At least in Laymans terms.

That said, I would really love to see this done in five bullet points with a timeline. Not by you, but by the worlds experts. I just don’t think we are there yet even with your incredible amount of high-tech sleuthing. We need to get there.

One question: how do you think the raccoon dogs figure in? Red herring or different direction?

      • larry Horist

Frank Stetson … Based on your first graph … then you agree that Fauci perjured himself before Congress and that Sen. Paul was correct from the get-go. BTW … I agree with your first graph.

        • Tom

I do not know about Frank, but I certainly do agree with your statement that Fauci perjured himself. Whether a person directly lies or uses omission and slight of hand statements, to me it all comes under the category “deception”. And that is what he was doing. The money trail is irrefutable. We funded gain of function research.

      • Tom

First, you and I react out of moralism and ethics. Trump is easy, he reacted because he was in acting out of instinct. He did not want a pandemic on his watch to ruin his presidency or thwart reelection possibilities. So he did what he always does, he created his own reality for the country. And the CDC did the country no favors either. Trump was most likely correct about the hydroxychloroquine (it is used for malaria and thus is known to be effective against SARS) but the issue is that this medication Hydroxychloroquine is also used off label to treat rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus by decreasing the activity of the immune system. If suddenly the population is using it against SARS then those needing it for arthritis and lupus would not have any. This was what was behind the push to discredit hydroxychloroquine! I think what should have happened is we should have massively ramped up the production of hydroxychloroquine, and made it available over the counter as a bridge to vaccines. We had plenty of data from US and African doctors saying it was effective against SARS, and many doctors screaming for its use! But oh that carrot dangling in front of the big pharma companies to develop multiple vaccines was irresistible!

Now China and the US both (I believe) are covering up. Imagine the costs if it could be confirmed beyond proof positive that we funded the development of a pathogen strictly prohibited by two bio weapon treaties, 1925, and 1969. See *https://www.brandeis.edu/now/2021/july/bioweapons-samore.html* The costs to both countries would be astronomical. Now we see a perfect model of how through human lack of morals, lack of character, greed, and wanting to be its own god able to develop anything, that the Death’s horse (Revelations 6: 8-10) written as khlōros (χλωρός) in the original Koine Greek, which can mean either green/greenish-yellow or pale/pallid will be released. In Revelations, God is simply allowing the pale green rider known as Death to be unleashed, but it is mankind that does the actual unleashing!

Also, another aspect of China is the dual use technology angle. They were enhancing gain of function under the guise of civil research to better predict virus mutation while all the while knowing they were also creating a fantastic bio weapon that could wipe out a population before they ever know what hit it. And bio weapon development is banned by two international treaties, and it includes research of pathogens as well, even for domestic purposes. See *https://www.brandeis.edu/now/2021/july/bioweapons-samore.html* So imagine the potential economic liabilities to China, loss of world reputation and cooperation if it was known for sure that what they were developing escaped and killed people around the planet. If their people know this it would cause much chaos, protest, and disruption, possibly even the overthrow of the party. I think this is cause enough to seal records and destroy databases!

And then we can come to Fauci. What was his role? His role was to circumvent the Trump administration and continue to pathogen research that Obama had strictly forbidden. And he was to do this as the funding king, using the NIH. Most likely there is another US player connection unknown at this point, possibly CIA or DoD. Once the accidental transmission occurred and became unmanageable, his job was to go into damage control mode. And how he did it is best described by Hillary many years ago when she described certain government policy goals as to create “plausible deniability”. Fauci’s role became that of “muddying the water” to obscure the singular notion of lab leak with a second notion of zoonotic transmission from a cave 600 plus miles away to the wet market and a jump from animal (such as a racoon dog which is known to be susceptible to SARS) to human ACE2 cells which are what is in your lungs and much of your tissue that oxygenate with red blood cells! See this NIH study paper dated 12/2020 at *https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7706974/* Racoon dogs became part of Fauci’s muddy narative and backed by his NIH. And he did this “muddying” by using grants such as the grant to EcoHealth Alliance which then issued 8 subcontract grants, one of which for $686,000 was to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, Dr. Zheng Li via Dr. Peter Daszak , President of EcoHealth Alliance. He used the grants to create much research towards the zoonotic theory and in so doing did take the attention away from the lab leak theory. At least for a while.

I am not a conspiracy theorist. This is just how the pieces seem to fit together to this quality manager.

  1. Remember the title: “More woman victimization from the left.” The author, without a shred of evidence, presumes that there are…
