Trump Nominates Amy Coney Barret to be the next Supreme Court Justice
As many predicted base on recent attention by the Administration and the media, Judge Amy Coney Barret has been nominated to replace Ruth Bader Ginsberg who recently passed away.
Judge Barret, 48, was appointed to the 7th Circuit Appeals Court by President Trump on November 2, 2017.
Among her more notable qualifications, she was a clerk to Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scala, she has been a law professor at George Washington School of Law in DC and then at her Alma Mater Notre Dame. She has published work in professional journals the Columbia Law Review, the Cornell Law Review, the Virginia Law Review, the Notre Dame Law Review, and the Texas Law Review.
President Trump announced last week that he had narrowed the field to five, all women. He and the Senate leader Mitch McConnell have set the goal of having her seated as a Supreme Court Justice before the election on November 3, 2020.
This could be especially important if election fraud manifests either in mail-in votes or other manipulation. A decision by the Supreme Court could decide the election.
Democrats have complained that since the Republicans had blocked Obama’s Merrick Garland nomination to allow President Trump to nominate his own, that they should also delay Trump’s nomination until after the election, hoping to give Joe Biden the chance to nominate his own candidate.
They have (rightly) pointed to Republican hypocrisy in that, in 2016, they thought it proper to delay until a new president was elected. Now they have changed their tune.
Of course, as seen below, the 2016 Democrats were in favor of having the current President (Obama at the time) nominate a candidate and have it voted on. Now the shoe is on the other foot.

Bottom line, the Constitution says that the current President nominates and the current Senate approves. Elections have consequences. In 2016, the Obama Administration did not have sufficient votes in the Senate to prevent a delay. In 2020, the Trump administration does indeed have enough votes.
What to Expect
Given the vehemence of the attacks on the issue of nomination at this time, and the consequence that the approval of this nomination means conservative control of the court for at least a generation, expect one of the worst fights ever. Brett Kavanaugh was the victim of massive attacks from fake witnesses, supported and amplified by a hostile liberal press.
The biggest dig to date is that Barret is a person of faith and she is personally against abortion. She will be attacked over and over because of this.
Don’t be surprised if witnesses of some crime or another that she supposedly committed materialize out of thin air. Expect the accusations to be heinous and humiliating. And false.
There is about a 10% possibility that the Democrats will realize this is a losing battle and then will want to get it over with as soon as possible. If this happens, it could mean that the Democrats have a massive “October surprise” for Trump for the election.
Just what the demorats have done for over 4 years they ARE the biggest liars on the planet-they lie constantly then say its President Trump-anyone who cant see that is a moron
