The nagging question of election fraud

The nagging question of election fraud

This commentary is NOT a brief on the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.  Rather, it is a more generic look at election fraud and rigging as a reality – apart from the political spin.

Since the 2020 election, there have been two nagging issues. Was the election stolen from President Trump?  And does election fraud even exist?

Those questions form the parameters of the debate. On one side is Trump and his Republican supporters claiming that the 2020 election was stolen – or as he says, was “rigged.”  Conversely, Biden and his people say that not only did he win fair and square, but that the entire notion of election fraud is a political myth.

Whether true or not, Trump’s claim has been weakened by the inability to reverse election outcomes anywhere.  And God knows they tried – more than sixty times and counting.

I have never offered my opinion on Trump’s claim to be the true winner in 2020.  Largely because I think it is a futile debate and mostly a distraction.  One cannot refute the case that Joe Biden is the legitimate President of the United States – even if you believe that he was not “duly elected.”  They are two different things.

That is because the constitutional responsibility to elect the American President is not based directly on the popular vote, but on the vote of the electors in the Electoral College.  Once they vote and the Congress certifies, it is game over.  America has a legitimate constitutional President, like it or not.

That does not mean the issue of election fraud should be ignored or disregarded.  The popular vote has everything to do with how an elector gets elected.  Any evidence of vote fraud must be investigated.  Any vulnerabilities to fraud in the systems and procedures must be addressed.  Protecting the integrity of our elections is an essential part of the “eternal vigilance” our Founders admonished us to maintain.  This is especially true because most election fraud operates beyond the reach of the law.

How to cheat in an election

There are two means by which an election can be “stolen.”  The first is outright fraud – stuffing the ballot box, as it was once called … intentional miscounts … destroying ballots … and many other schemes.

The second way is to rig the rules to make fraud more likely by creating weak points in the election chain – or even by changing election laws or procedures that incorporate bias.

One of the problems with vote fraud is that it is virtually impossible to catch the culprits – even more difficult to bring them to justice. When you discover more votes than voters in a precinct, it is virtually impossible to not only know who did it – but there are no means to correct it.  How do you know which votes to eliminate?  Consequently, the fraudulent votes are counted.

Also, there are legal and quasi-legal ways to rig election outcomes.  One of the most obvious is the age-old practice of redistricting — gerrymandering.  This has been a standard political method of operation since the founding of the Republic.  It is used by both parties.  The power to redistrict the map is one of the spoils of victory.  Even the Constitutional requirements to draw “compact and concise” districts have not prevented legalized gerrymandering.

Another manner to improperly influence election outcomes is by suppressing the vote through oppression and violence as was the case for 100 years under one-party Democratic rule in Dixie.  Ponder that.  For more than a century there was not a legal constitutional election held in any of the solid Democrat states of the old Confederacy – despite U.S. constitutional amendments, a myriad of federal laws and a host of court orders.   That was election rigging on the grandest scale in American history – found only in such places as Russia, China or North Korea.

We saw another way of potentially rigging the system in Pennsylvania, where thousands of ballots arrived beyond the deadline — and which were to go uncounted according to the state constitution.  Yet, the legislature and state supreme court allowed them to be counted.  That is viewed as a legal count, but was such a waiver really legal?

Evidence of vote fraud

Whether it was sufficient to have overturned the official 2020 election results – and contrary to the Pollyanna statements of those on the left — there was clear evidence of some level of election fraud in almost every state.

In advance of the 2020 election, Judicial Watch undertook an investigation and found that there were 353 counties in 29 states that had a total of more than 1.8 million more voters than the number of eligible voters in those counties.

Part of the problem is that local authorities do not “clean” or update the voting rolls.  The names of the ineligible can then be used by fake voters.  One can only wonder why Democrats are so opposed to purging ineligible names from the voter rolls.  Yes, that is an issue of constant partisan contention.

This is why we learn about people “voting” who have moved away or are dead.  In my hometown of Chicago, the “cemetery vote” was a regular occurrence.  In fact, when Mayor Richard J. Daley passed away, a local news commentator jokingly said,” Well, at least he will not lose his voting right.”

Are there vulnerability points in the current election procedures?

The simple answer is, “yes.”  There is no human system totally immune to clever and determined cheaters.  As a person who has spent a fair amount of my professional career investigating and combating vote fraud, I see mischief – opportunities to cheat —  in the current systems.  And they could be – and should be —   closed.

  1. Early voting.  For all its advantages and popularity, early voting exposes the chain-of-custody of ballots to weak points.   If nothing else, it offers a lot of time for the ballots to be handled or mishandled during an extended period of ineffective supervision.  Since it would be virtually impossible to totally eliminate early voting, I would limit it to ten days before election day – encompassing two weekends. That should accommodate the vast majority of voters.
  2. Mail-In-voting.  That is not a new concept. It has been the procedure for election day travelers and our overseas military personnel.  Historically, it was only available to a small number of individuals who could not vote on Election Day.   They had to have legitimate and verifiable excuses – which could be challenged.  Early voting actually reduces the need for mail-in balloting.  Mail-in voting makes verification of the voter much more difficult – often impossible.  It makes it much easier for political operatives to send in ballots in the names of ineligible voters – without leaving a trace of evidence.
  3. Unprotected drop boxes. This is another weak point in the chain of custody.  It is the safest means to harvest and dump illegal ballots.  It also opens some potential for stealing or destroying ballots.
  4. Vote harvesting.  Harvesting was once against the law because there could be no verification that the harvested ballots were properly cast by eligible individuals.  There is a reason why harvesting is particularly popular with the powerful political machines – and it is not a good one.
  5. Online access to voting machines. While there have not yet been any proven examples of individual voting machines being hacked.  But that potential exists as long as they are connected – or can be connected – to the Internet.  Many voting machines have ports that enable them to be connected.  There is no good reason for such ports.  Individual voting machines should not have any capability to be connected to the Internet.  And that is true for central tabulating computers.
  6. Same day registration.  There is no reason to provide same day registration.  Such registrations cannot be vetted or be challenged effectively.

And there are many other opportunities for vote fraud, but to cover and explain them all would take a book.

Voter ID

It is reasonable – and perhaps essential – to suspect the motives of those individuals who oppose the requirement of an official photo identification card as a prerequisite for voting. Photo ID cards are used to assure the authenticity and legitimacy of a person on innumerable occasions.  We show them how to get into certain (especially government) buildings … to make financial transactions … to get on airplanes … to get a blood test … etc., etc., etc.  The most critical and fundamental security measure associated with voting is to ascertain the eligibility of the person at the time they cast their ballot.

Summary

We can all agree that encouraging maximum participation is a good thing.  But it must not be founded on the false premise that easier access to the ballot produces a more honest outcome.  Trading away security for access is foolish and detrimental to electoral integrity.

In the name of providing easier access to voting, many reform measures provide more opportunities for cheating in a number of ways.  And if there is a possibility of cheating, there will be cheaters.  It is critical to PREVENT vote fraud because prosecuting it after the fact is virtually impossible.

That is why it is critical to have bipartisan and nonpartisan stakeholders as poll watchers when ballots are being cast – and when they are being counted.  There must be an effective means to challenge names on voting lists and voters casting ballots.

A safe voting system needs to minimize the time and distance between the casting of the ballot by a verified eligible voter and the ballot’s inclusion in the final official count.

The debate over the outcome of the 2020 election is one for the history books – and even then, it will be seen only as a controversy – never to be definitively resolved.  On the other hand, I do believe that the more objective hindsight of history will rebut the claim that election fraud does not exist — and did exist in 2020.  It is a feature of EVERY election to some extent.  The best we can hope for is to minimize it through “eternal vigilance” and a secure chain-of-custody of the ballots.

So, there ‘tis.

    The reason that Trump didn’t get justice is because the courts didn’t want to stir the pot. So much smoke for no fires because the judges and authorities wouldn’t look for the fires Threats and bribery rules our country. Didn’t many people in probably all of the contested states come forward and offer testimony? And some of the idiots who post on this site get a boner because “ can’t prove anything “. I’ll simply say that no democrat will govern me. Yes, I’ve posted this before but it bears repeating. The damned democrats are just as crooked today as they were in the days of Tammany hall in years past in New York. I’m pleased that many more people are getting out of the party. The bastards won’t enforce the laws when they are in power. The country gets overwhelmed by illegals and the government doesn’t care. And the large blue cities are worse than prison yards. Hell yes the election was stolen!!!! And future elections will be stolen by democrats if possible. We really need Trump back in office so he can put a stop to this shit.

      Wampler, Trump and company was the one suing, it’s up to them to prove their case. That’s how it works in America……

      He had 65 chances, he blew them all, many were in front of his own judges.

      He had half a dozen recounts, by his own people, and he blew them all, even his own people could not fake the truth.

      Trump rigged the 2016 election by paying off a porn star and playboy model, and maybe a doorman to hide his extramarital escapades and love child. He hid this news just before the election and after the Access Hollywood “grab em by the pussy,” comments. He thought if it came out, he would lose to Hillary so he illegally paid off the hush money. The case starts Monday, chances are strong that he is guilty, guilty, guilty, and it’s a felony this time.

      Trump’s three lawyers have all pled guilty to attempting to rig the 2020 election in a case where Trump is King. They have all pledged to testify against him and were in the room when these decisions were laid and made. This case will be after the election, it does not look good given the guilty pleas so far, but he could still wiggle out.

      I am sorry but if you feel Trump did not get justice 65+ times over, if you feel Trump’s people cheated him on the recounts, if you can’t see him attempting to rig elections, including stopping Congress from certifying the 2020, then you will believe anything and I hope to be able to sell you something one day. My baby needs new shoes…..

      Do you have your golden sneakers yet?
      Trump “art” prints?
      $59.99 Bible?

      The guy is a lying, cheating, grifter, caught many times over who sold us out to the Chinese with the YUGEST deficit in US History on top of a tax break so we could borrow even more money. He is taking your money, shoveling to his lawyers, in a circle of death that will ultimately flush down the bowl.

      Stay the course, man. God loves persistence. Sisyphus is a favorite. Keep rolling that “he’s a martyr” rock uphill. Because, the real answer is: he’s a loser. Lost the 2016 popular. Lost the 2020 everything. Lost the 2022 for his “tribe.” And you guys said: “please sir, can we have some more?”

        Recounting the fraudulent votes is the same fraudulent vote count for the second time! And 65 judges dismissing challenges without looking at the evidence is not a trial!

        • Drew Page

          Absolutely right.

      • bill jacko

        Frank Stetson, I laugh in the face of people like you because you make claims with CNN facts that are controlled by democrats. No one heard ANY of Trump’s cases and just claimed there was no evidence when I myself saw a problem when the counting stopped at 11pm and resumed at 1am with Biden in the lead. If the counting stopped how did Biden jump into the lead as soon as the counting continued? They claimed none of the voting machines or tabulators were connected to the internet, but we later learned they were. Why was it legal for governors to appoint electors when by state law only the legislator has the authority? Oh wait, in all cases like Pennsylvania the legislator is controlled by republicans. Why was it ok for the windows to be covered by cardboard so no one could verify the counting and why were boxes of ballots hidden under the at the State Farm Arena? Why did it take 8 weeks to finalize the count and how did Biden win more of the black vote than Obama when Trump gained 10% more of the black male vote than 2016? No matter how you twist the outcome, the numbers just never add up period. Lastly, the claim of it being the most secure election in history by the democrats says it all when Hillary Clinton is still claiming 9 years later that Trump stole the election even though we now know she paid to take Trump down and Obama weaponized government agencies to destroy him.

      • Harry

        Well Frank all of the events where people participated. in fixing the counts are known. How about since Barr refused to look into the evidence and the courts not wanting to get involved Maybe if we take just one and kidnap them and get the truth. Because we will never get the truth from this government who actually planned and participated in J6!

        The reason they did that and the reason all the lefties in DC and New York didn’t eliminate trump then they knew they had to keep trying Do you have a fkn clue as to how many of these plots have failed??

        In the end People who cheat pay and that is the Deep State and we know it and they know it. Weaponizing the government against a party or an individual will not stand! So strap on your boots and tell everybody to keep one eye open at night and don’t drink the coffee somebody else serves. And don’t get impatient, things take time and usually well planned remedies succeed.

    • Drew Page

      I agree. and I’m sure millions of others do too.

  2. Frank stetdon

    Jim, you feign threats, you scare no one. We will do what we’ve been doing and you will continue spew and do nothing just as you have done.

    Talk about Biden’s dick, that’s a new one. Tire of bashing my nonexistent daughter? Or just change your focus to men?

    • Jim wampler

      Who did I threaten? I never said that I’m going to do anything. That would be stupid and even more so if I confessed to anything on this site. Even though this is a private site and even if someone invents a fake name we can still be found if the law enforcement wants us. Just saying. Stop the lies and steal. And I believe that you are trolling for people to fuck up and threatened people. I don’t make threats. I make promises For the sake of argument you are glad to have retard joe even if you personally watched voter fraud. You and your party have no morals

      • Frank stetson

        Jim, Feign, try the dictionary.

        Nice rant though. Loved the I don’t make threats, I make promises. Always a classic.

        Bring it on. We arrested 1,000 last time, more to come. We jailed Trump’s campaign staff, most of his administration quit, his lawyers are in jail or awaiting sentencing. Bring it on buttercup.

  3. Ron C

    There is a third way to cheat and rig the election, jailing your opponent and having your news media call him vile names! Which is happening across the nation!

    • Frank stetson

      Yeah baby. We cheat him right into jail while he cheats you for billions in his pump n dump Trump stock DJT. It’s the circle ⭕️ of grift.

  4. Wes Kussmaul

    Nagging? Who is it nagging?

    Actually, “nagging” is a perfect word for this phenomenon. As in, one who for reasons of some psychological issues insists on bringing up old discredited issues.

    Me, I don’t feel nagged at all. I accept the decision of the many judges, especially the Trump-appointed ones.

    Sane people have moved on. Others will join those who insist that the confederacy will rise again.

  5. Darren

    The fact that Pennsylvania counted their late votes Illegally and counted them Violated MY rights
    in my state to choose the winning candidate.
    State laws are created for that specific reason.
    AND the news people call the protesters at the Capital crazy?
    The correct laws are emplace, just not followed when it suites the Narrative.
    Again, the biggest problem in this country is the SUCK UP NEWS reporting what
    they want people to believe and not the truth.
    I spelled it out for even children on this site to understand.

    • Jim wampler

      It’s all good. Trump will pardon the Jan 6 patriots. And Frank, many others didn’t get caught. And are still around And I know that you’re afraid

    Solemn words: “This commentary is NOT a brief on the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. Rather, it is a more generic look at election fraud and rigging as a reality – apart from the political spin.” A comment, a commitment, a promise made.

    “Since the 2020 election, there have been two nagging issues. Was the election stolen from President Trump? And does election fraud even exist? Those questions form the parameters of the debate.” Which is it: “a more generic look” or “was the election stolen from President Trump?” I smell the spin a comin.

    Some quantitative from the man himself: Trump noted 17 times in the story; Trump the persecuted must be “generic” when you think election rigging. Biden, mentioned six times, Biden always in the negative, Trump, always the victim. Democrats mentioned 7 times, not in a good light. Republican mentioned once as in “Republican supporters claiming that the 2020 election was stolen.” That’s just so sweet. Poor whittle snowflakey Republicans.

    And so on and so on does the story lean right, spins right. Many Democratic “riggings” described from a century ago in the South to modern Pennsylvania. Apparently forget Nixon, the current Trump cases for rigging the 2020 election (starts Monday, he will be guilty, but Hoirst overlooks the method and the man) and the 2020 Presidential rigging in Geogia where three Trump lawyers have already pleaded guilty of trying to rig the election against Joe Biden. Guilty Horist, they said they did it, they said they will testify against Trump. Election fraud on a national level. A massive plot, guilty Trump lawyers. And that missed your radar…. But you got dead Democrats from a century ago, didn’t miss that. Hardly a generic look.

    Or the modern version where Republicans threaten election workers, parade the polls with long guns showing, Republican suppression like this: * https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/3844296-gop-voter-suppression-measures-are-working-despite-democratic-wins/* There’s much more Horist missed. Or Republican suppression via the laws: * https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jan/17/voting-rights-republicans-texas-restrictions*

    Generic, hardly. Swings right, massively. Fair and balanced, not even close. I would point out individual errors by Horist, but, frankly, being frank, it’s more boring than my taxes.

    Trump said “I’m innocent of false Democrat charges of colluding with the Russians to steal the 2016 election.” After four separate investigations, by the FBI, the House of Representatives, the Senate and the Mueller team, none of these could find proof of those false allegations. When a Democrat majority in the House twice impeached Trump, the Senate acquitted him, because the Democrats could show no proof of any “high crimes or misdemeanors”. Trump said he would cut taxes for individuals and businesses; and he did. He said he would renegotiate trade agreements in America’s favor; and he did. He said he would strengthen our Armed Forces; and he did. He said he would impose tariffs on goods coming into America that came from countries that imposed tariffs on goods the U.S. exported to them; and he did. He said he would make America energy independent; and he did. He said he would build a border wall; and construction of that wall was two months from completion when he left office. He said he would impose economic sanctions on countries that threatened America’s national security (Iran, Russia, China and North Korea); and he did.

    Joe Biden has said some things too, including:
    * “there is no border crisis”;
    * “inflation has come down”;
    * “I have never been involved in my son, Hunter Biden’s business”(repeated 16 separate times);
    * “China is only a friendly competitor”;
    * “the withdrawal from Afghanistan was a success”;
    * “I don’t want my kids going to school in a racial jungle”;
    * “If you don’t know who to vote for, you ain’t black”.

    “Was the election stolen from President Trump?” Horist begs the question, he has worn me down, so I must confess: we did it.

    I am at that point in life closer to meeting my maker than those who made me, much closer. I feel I must unburden myself, and using the Horstian theory of volume = truth, more = right, highest number wins, I know that the election was stolen and why you can’t figure it out even though you can prove it’s true:

    = over 65 losing court cases, the sheer number proves the election was rigged
    = so many judges and juries denying the fraud proves there was fraud
    = over half dozen recounts all showing Trump lost proves Trump won on the sheer number of recounts alone.

    No, I am not crazy, I don’t believe that Italian satellites changed votes from the US embassy in Rome with the Vatican’s support. That would be stupid.

    It’s the Covid conspiracy that rigged the election, with emphasis on the con. Think about how we invented it, gave it to you, bent you over the table gasping for air, killed you, replaced you with illegal aliens, and took the vote. We wisely targeted the old because we know they vote more often. And we convinced you not to believe in institutions, government, or media. That sealed the deal.

    First, we get Fauci to pay China to cook up a little covid, a good batch that exceeds the flu. China gets paid off by Hunter Biden with Michael Cohen delivering the checks. Then Fauci tells China to fake us out with the release, make it look like a leak, still haven’t figured that out, have you? Fauci had it in his briefcase all along, that’s how we got it here. Check it out, Fauci was talking in NYC that weekend. Then Fauci talks Trump into closing down the nation, keeping the kids home to keep the adults busy, and changing the election to early, mail-in, and drop box voting because of covid. Voila —— we rigged her baby. We rigged her and you still can’t prove it.

    Then we got liberal big pharma to create “the cure,” which is just sugar water, and we made billions after stealing you blind on the election. Best yet, Fauci got credit for being the good guy. Fuck all that gerrymander-ing, stuffing ballot boxes, or internet-ing the voting machines —— the Fauci pandemic not only got us the Presidency, but we lowered Social Security payments, backfilled dead Republicans with Democratic illegal aliens, and we didn’t even change our total population. And you’re left counting, going to court, when the real culprit was right in front of your eyes: the Fauci connection, with emphasis on the con. BRILLIANT.

    Next we will bring measles to Florida, Avian bird flu to Texas, get the picture. For measles, the largest outbreak is in Chicago and we know who came to Florida from Chicago —- our carrier; why take a bus when you have a Horist. And TB is coming back, a lot in both Texas and Florida. Spot the trend?

    MPOX has doubled in 2024 and again, Texas and Florida have clusters, but we messed up, spilled some, and NY and CA have clusters too. Ooops. Can’t get it all right. IL too but we know that Florida connection.
    Republicans may continue to weaponize voting rules and regulations, even locking people up for snacking in a voting line. But we found a way to lower votes, add fraud ridden mail in, drop box, and early voting elements, while backfilling dead Republicans with illegal aliens that always vote Democratic.

    And you can’t touch us. At least not without a mask and gloves :>)
