Thanks Joe, nice to see facts. Listened to the Welker piece and I don’t quite get the smack down or trap. Personally, I cannot see anyone on MTP setting a trap. I am more interested in deeds, not words. And I caught the debate, and yes, the Kamala debate will be good, not sure he will wipe the floor with her however. She is not Tim Ryan who didn’t look like he wanted it. JD may be more elite than her, but she has experience on her side.

Still learning about this newbie to the political scene without much track record of accomplishments to judge from because he has few. For the most part, I conclude this guy does not have the experience to be Speaker of the House, Head of the Senate and no way should he be President without some experience at something with a track record of success. He is greener than grass. He wouldn’t even be a Senator if not for the trend to “throw the bums out,” topped off by millions of donor cash from his tech billionaire bromancer.

As I said in the Horist piece, “JD Vance is very smart, can chum up to mentors and rabbis like no tomorrow, ambitious, and totally unseasoned and unfit for the job.” His apparent key to getting his new job is loyalty.

I would add that sans an experience record in politics based on actions and accomplishments. If we were to judge this fellow on his words, he’s a man that bends with the wind, has no spine, double-speaks slick willyisms while flip flopping whichever way the wind blows and I need no weatherman to say that sucks. Hey, everyone changes, everyone gets a second chance, but his guy changes colors faster than a pirate changes flag of origin.

He’s smart and he does leave his home town as soon as he can. Becomes an elite at Yale while pretending he’s still conservative. He’s a blue dog conservative like his folks so get over it. Around 2016, I think his Yale mentor suggests a book. He wisely gloms onto the Trumplicant trend. But he needs a hook and hillbilly it is. He’s as much a hillbilly as I am. As far as I can tell, he never lived in Appalachia, he’s more of a rust belt kid but beyond trying to glom onto the hillbillies, the rest rings true, in his mind. But what he does is take his anecdotes and then wraps them in a bigger Trumpian milieu of conservative urban myths that is not his life. It’s just trendy and sells well. And sells well it does. But he’s not a Trumper yet, far from it, he’s a never Trumper who hates Trump with the kind of passion that only a good job with good pay could change in a man without character and backbone.

I am guessing he used the military to pay for his Ohio State undergrad but earned a full ride at Yale sucking off the teat of college benefactors. All good but certainly not hillbilly to have others pay your way. A few mentor gloms later, and he’s a virgin senator for 18 months, and soon, perhaps a step away from being President. During that time, he moves from calling Trump out as Hitler all the way to kissing the ring of the Felon Racist King to gain his endorsement for the Senate run. His mentor led him into Mar A Loser to sit with his new rabbi.

Sorry, but a good book, some good talking points, an elite education and a bunch of no-show jobs, does not buy it for me. I do find it funny that Trumplicants hold as his shining moment that he’s a New York Times best sell author. Go figure how they tout The New York Times now. Like I said, he comes from blue dog Democrat stock so being a Trumplicant is an extension, not a reversal. Hell, look at all the Democrats, as well as moderate and progressive Republicans that have become Trumplicants. You guys just slurp this shit up. They even wear similar ties to show loyalty and uniformity through conformity to the Felon Rapist King.

I will be looking at his experience, accomplishments in legislation, leading groups, persuading others, more than his his flowery language. But, in his words, I am especially where he reverses himself faster than the speed of light, over and over. Does that make sense or is he just bending to trends, sucking up to the mob or his Felon Rapist King. Thing is he has no experience; his accomplishment is a book and a lot of failed hedge fund/investment guy failures. He has led no groups, persuades few, so I am just not seeing it. It seems his major strength is loyalty and he owes much to his tech billionaire mentor backer. A lot. I am not sure he has ever gotten a job on his own merits. Do you know of any?

Thanks for the clips, good stuff.

Frank, you do know this section is for COMMENTS and NOT articles?

Cut Frank some slack, Darren. He is a sad man with TDS who spends hours on end trolling the PBP. Without it, he would have no life at all.

Darren, I am sorry you are challenged by length :-). Should we skip the extea long words too?

Last I checked, there is no maximum. And it’s not that long except in the world of thumb talking twitter types who can’t get beyond 100 words without befuddlement.
