Another Trump-Harris Debate? Fox Extends the Invite
Fox News has invited presidential contenders Donald Trump and Kamala Harris to participate in a possible second debate on either Oct. 24 or 27.
Republican Trump and Democrat Harris debated each other for the first time on Sept. 10. Trump has said there would not be another debate before the Nov. 5 election. He rejected a past invitation from CNN for an Oct. 23 debate, accepted by Harris.
In its statement, Fox News Media president & Executive Editor Jay Wallace and Vice President of Politics Jessica Loker said a second debate “would present an opportunity for each candidate to make their closing arguments.”
Fox News Media executives sent a letter to the Harris and Trump campaigns offering to host another debate in Pennsylvania on either October 24 or 27, with Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum as moderators.
Wallace and Locker also pointed out that New York Times opinion senior editor David Swerdlick called for Harris to debate Trump on Fox News in a piece published on Tuesday.
Fox News’ proposed criteria and format mirror those of the CNN debate in June and September’s ABC showdown.
Fox News proposed a 90-minute debate with two commercial breaks, with only Baier and MacCallum asking questions. A coin flip would determine podium placement and order of closing statements. Candidates would stand behind podiums without any props or pre-written notes, and there would be no live audience.
Trump, 78, has repeatedly ruled out another faceoff against Harris, 59, but the network seems hopeful that it can get him to change his mind.
Previously, both Biden and Harris refused to accept invitations to debate Trump on Fox.

He said he is the only one smart enough to solve every issue foreign and domestic. We shall see. He will solve Putin’s problem, deliver Ukraine. He will solve the economy’s problem with inflation by upping tariffs on imports, which exporters pay (never happen). Didn’t Trump claim he is an economist who excelled in college. We demand proof.
