The Left Will NOT Teach Unbiased Black History

The Left Will NOT Teach Unbiased Black History

America is engaged in a national debate about teaching black history.

Democrats and those on the left accuse Republicans and conservatives of not wanting blacks to know their history.  Nonsense!  What is really happening is Democrats only want their version of black history to be taught – and it is a highly politicized and a highly censored spin on history.

It can be fairly argued that up until the mid-20th Century, black history was not adequately represented in elementary and high school history and civic classes.  (Thanks to left-wing academia, we essentially do not have civic lessons anymore.)

It has been more than 70 years since a more expansive black history was being introduced as part of core curricula – and when colleges created Black History courses.  The controversy arose because the very liberal academic establishment began to tell a history founded on today’s political environment – a black history that placed emphasis on partisan political advantage over objective review.

While black history in the past gave short shrift to the contributions and accomplishments of Negros throughout American history – and tended to follow the predominantly Democrat imagery of blacks as lazy, ignorant, and immoral.

It was not until college that I learned the first fatality of the Revolutionary War was a black man named Crispus Attucks … of the Negro military units that fought in World War II … of the accomplishments of people like Frederick Douglass, Booker T. Washington and Percy Julian (whose nephew was a friend of mine).

We were taught about the wrongness of slavery … that the early presidents owned slaves … of the 3/5 Clause, the Civil War, Emancipation, and Reconstruction.  There was no mention of the black Republicans who entered Congress after the Civil War, however.

I did not need my school to teach me about segregation in the South and de facto segregation in northern cities – such as my own Chicago.  I lived it.  I saw Democrat Jim Crow laws in action.  Traveling in the South, I saw the “colored only” signs.  I saw on television the dogs and cattle prods used as instruments of law enforcement.  I lived through the Republican’s successful efforts to pass civil rights legislation in 1965, 1960, 1964, and 1965 – although Democrats and the left steal the credit.

The problem with the new black curricula is that it is designed to indoctrinate along partisan lines – to produce political support for Democrats and the left.  The new racial curriculum is not educational but politically biased.  It is underscored by the left-wing bias that casts all things American in a negative light.

So-called African studies are used to attack modern Republicans (conservatives) by condemning traditional American values.  It claims that the GOP is the party of racists and racism.  The new black curriculum is based on racism against whites of European ancestry – and intended to divide rather than unify.

If you have any doubt that the black-oriented education classes have become a political cudgel against folks with conservative values – even distorting the definition and meaning of the word “conservative” – you only need to listen to the radical views of the professors who teach those courses – and they are featured regularly on left-wing cable news platforms.

They include Professors Eddie Glaude (Princeton), Jason Johnson (Morgan State), Michael Dyson (Vanderbilt), and Cornell West (several professorships) – to name a few.  White left-wing historians – such as Jon Meacham and Michael Beschloss — are also part of the cabal of historians who teach and proffer the false history of the partisan left.  None of them are objective teachers of history but are radical partisan advocates of left-wing ideology.

The underlying themes of black education in this country are based on several falsehoods – (1) that America is a pervasively racist nation, (2) that white folks are inherently racists, (3) that white conservatives are especially racists, (4) that white folks are in constant fear of being “replaced” by people-of-color, and (5) that Republicans are racists and Democrat Party is the Party of equality.

To maintain this ideological bias, the left completely cancels and censors all the FACTS that expose the underlying dishonesty of the propaganda.  The so-called African studies courses virtually never reflect the role of the Democratic Party in institutionalizing and maintaining black oppression throughout American history – to this very day.

In fact, calling attention to the Democratic Party’s factual fundamental role in black segregation and oppression brings outrage from the left.  In the view of the left, America’s “original sin” can be discussed – but only without mention of the sinners.

I have often said that Black History Month should be two weeks because it only deals with half of the reality of black history.

Allow me to emphasize Republicans, conservatives, and white people have no interest in “white washing” the tragic history of black enslavement, segregation, and history.  But we do oppose the gross distortions of both history and contemporary reality that are the bedrock of much of the current approach to black history.

The campus attacks on the Founders – and even President Lincoln – demonstrate just how far modern black history – in schools, in the media, and in entertainment – has traveled from reality, truth, and objectivity.

During this month, I will offer an occasional commentary of the subject of black history and racism in America.  I will likely include facts you may not have known or considered.

It will certainly call to task the left’s dishonest and harmful spin of black history – and how black history is crafted and censored to fit the modern left-wing political agenda by spinning elements of the history to deceive and conceal rather than enlighten.

So, there ‘tis.

The most accurate historical material is available at Wallbuiders.com. You know it is accurate because the Wokapedia has attacked he founders David and Tim Barton. You know they are lying because the quote the most liberal sources who attack. The Barton’s provided a more accurate ingo on how slavery began in the US on the Andrew Wommack program. You can find more from the DVD series the American Heritage Series from Wallbuilders.com
The Barton’s have the most extensive accumulation of information on our founding including some hundred’s of thousands of documents from the founding era.

If this is a story written by Horist, then that man wishes to hide what went on and by which political platform it was under. At the time of slavery the Democratic party had the Conservative platform and were considered the Conservative party and Republicans had the Liberal platform and were considered Liberal. It was not until about 1968 0r 1970 right after the Civil Rights act was forced on the South, that those so called Dixiecrats started trying to take over the Republican party and that was done by 2000. Now those same Dixiecrat dependents, do not want the factual truth taught in school, which would make them looklike the racists they were and still are.

    • Julia Klawinski

I do not understand what you are saying but Abraham Lincoln was the first Republican President and he freed the slaves with the Emancipation Proclamation. And in the South the Ku Klux Klan were the Democrats that kept the idea of slavery and brutality toward black people uppermost in their minds and actions. It doesn’t matter who you call Conservative or Liberal the Democrats are still trying to keep the black people in slavery, now in slavery to the United States Government with government handouts and the Republicans are doing exactly the opposite. That is why more and more blacks are joining the Republican party and being elected to offices both local and national.

      • Larry Horist

Julia Klawinski … All you have to do is take a factual objective look at the south under Democrat rule and the change after Republicans began to take leadership. Blacks vote in record numbers … no more lynchings … no more segregation … not more Democrat terrorism … blacks in public office … integrated schools … etc.

      • frank stetson

Julia: do you think perhaps parties and party affiliation might change over time? Are Germans all still Nazis? They were.

The Democratic party was booted from the South in the 60’s; the people didn’t leave, they just changed party affiliation as the Republicans embraced what the Democrats shed. In the past decade, Republicans have amplified this process. They say, if you have guns, we love you, as long as you’re still good no matter what you say. They say, white supremacists: you can find good people everywhere, welcome aboard whitey.

And then they claim they are the up and coming party for minorities as they bus asylum seekers to the North without notice and in the dead of night. Even Martha’s Vineyard where DeSantis summered while at a famous Northeast elites college.

You must see that while most Republicans are not racist, that most racists are Republicans, or vote for them. Republicans court a number of extremist groups; they attend their gatherings, speak, have a swell ole time. DeSantis did it. MTGreene still does it, Gosar skipped votes to keynote at one of them. Mark Finchem and Wendy Rogers Trump, State Legislators spoke at one, candidates Zink and Craine were there too. One of them was at the 1.6 insurrection and cheered the rioters on the internet. ex-Representative King attended a Klan rally. Trump himself had dinner with Ye, met with Fuentes. They even invite dictators and racists to speak at Republican conventions and CPAC.

McGeachin/Rodgers/Lake/Scalise/Gohmert/Kelly/ are all speakers at extremist’s rallys, the list goes on and on.

Yes, Democrats do the same for BLM, but not Antifa. There is a difference. There may be a few, but not many that embrace the life of violence and hate.

Yes, Democrats are the racists of the Civil War era out to the 60’s. But you all own it now.

For Black Americans, family and friends are a primary source of information on U.S. Black history, Very interesting statistics at

NYACK, N.Y. (WPIX) – The students at Nyack Middle School in New York were served chicken and waffles with a side of watermelon on the first day of Black History Month, causing the principal to apologize for the “insensitive” incident, according to a letter issued by the school last week.

Now, that’s a rant! Has Larry ever met a Democrat he likes; or a Democratic policy he agrees with? So much hate, so much venom. If indeed, as he seems to state, the entire US educational system is controlled by “Thanks to left-wing academia, we essentially do not have civic lessons anymore.”

    Or

“The very liberal academic establishment began to tell a history founded on today’s political environment – a black history that placed emphasis on partisan political advantage over objective review.” “It is underscored by the left-wing bias that casts all things American in a negative light.”

I would think Larry might investigate WHY American education is so damned liberal. It is but why? And how does Larry fix his problem? Because cleaning up the disaster after the fact is always much harder than doing it right in the first place. Florida found this out after working on the African Studies AP course for over a year, totally fucking it up, and then causing DeSantctimonious to declare a total crisis of his own people’s screw-up. Management by crisis is not profitable management, so disruption and unproductive.

No matter what Larry advocates, or actually gets done, it won’t fix the root cause because he has not identified the root cause. He is focused in the weeds, the content, not the cause which is: too many liberals in the education system. Larry calls out what this does:

“So-called African studies are used to attack modern Republicans (conservatives) by condemning traditional American values. It claims that the GOP is the party of racists and racism. The new black curriculum is based on racism against whites of European ancestry – and intended to divide rather than unify.” Seems a bit harsh to say liberals hate American values. Maybe Larry’s, but not mine. And I’m as correct as Larry on this one.

But he drones on: “the left completely cancels and censors all the FACTS that expose the underlying dishonesty of the propaganda. The so-called African studies courses virtually never reflect the role of the Democratic Party in institutionalizing and maintaining black oppression throughout American history – to this very day.” Well, keep on keeping on fixing things after they are broken instead of fixing the root cause.

Rather that argue with Larry’s hatred hard-on, since nothing he suggests will remedy the root cause, I will focus on his five idnetified falsehoods resulting from not addressing the root cause: too many liberals in the education system. Looking in the weeds, Larry finds:

    (1) that America is a pervasively racist nation
    a. I think if you include systemic racism, this would be true, but if just your run-of-the-mill Trumplicant overt racists, no, by your own definition of your party that this is in the rearview :>), that’s a tiny fraction of a number.
    (2) that white folks are inherently racists (it’s actually racist, but I digress)
    a. I doubt you will find the majority of Democrats believing this, everyone pretty much knows no one is born a racist.
    b. PEW says Dems think racism is a huge problem, not that all whites are inherently racist *https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2017/08/29/views-of-racism-as-a-major-problem-increase-sharply-especially-among-democrats/*
    (3) that white conservatives are especially racists
    a. OK, one more time — what most intelligent liberals believe is that all conservatives are not racists, but the vast majority of racists are conservatives. Repeat… And then you have your Republican racist enabler class, that’s a deeper and wider problem, but the real problem for Republicans: you just can’t rid yourselves of them because you need the votes.
    (4) that white folks are in constant fear of being “replaced” by people-of-color
    a. You Republicans own the replacement theory, all forms, this being just one. In FL, you believe NJ snowbirds are replacing you.
    (5) that Republicans are racists and Democrat Party is the Party of equality.
    a. You might be right here, but not me. You have talked about systemic racism in Northern cities and schools: I told you that looked it up and many agree, and there are stat’s to show it. BUT that’s a woke view, and I respect your wokiness and see the validity of your conclusion. Our difference in opinion is that you totally blame all of this systemic racism on Democrats, and I blame both parties.

An example: the old new highway walls-off minorities creating a ghetto. It’s real, it happened, it happens still, BUT to say it’s never happens in Republican-land or that Republicans never voted for it is naïve and based solely on Larry’s contention that there is no Republican-land or that Republicans have never voted for this in Democrat-land.

    BOTTOM LINE: Let’s fix it.

So we agree on 1 out of 5, mostly, and disagree on 4. I disagree on the others mostly because you are so binary, no nuance. I see a lot of “some,” “many”, and few most’s and no all’s.

I think we need a new Affirmative Action program in our education system to lift up conservatives and place them in positions in the system, a quota if you will. Now, I know they are not qualified, will need re-training, but I am sure they are equal to the task and can be taught.

    • Miles collins

      White history is more interesting

      • frank stetson

Miles, buck the trend and get a job in college teaching white history; it’s so interesting that I am sure you will have large crowds.

Then again, perhaps the reason that conservatives don’t teach is because they can’t. Hardly present in college, they appear less endangered in public schools but still beat out 5 to 3. I mean we all know that schools pay more than most jobs, so what’s the Republicans problem here? Just like working harder for less? Can’t stand good benefits? Too white?

Might even be a white history lesson in that.

  5. Larry Horist

Frank Stetson …. Did you write that I think American is a racist nation? That is a lie. Every Black History Month, I publish my commentary stating that “America ain’t racist.” I make that claim in other commentaries. I cannot believe that you — who follow me like bloodhound — do not know that fact. But you are more interested in attacking me … insulting me … than telling the truth.
