Trump’s DOJ Hiding Details of Biden’s USAID to Gaza

The Department of Justice (DOJ) under Joe Biden became a political war machine targeting conservatives and doing away with transparency by hiding damning information about the administration’s corruption and malpractices. But it is becoming obvious day after day that the Trump’s DOJ is also far from embracing transparency.

Last week, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton expressed his frustration with Trump’s DOJ by questioning its ongoing resistance to the release request for information on where the USAID money was going under Joe Biden. On his X page, Fitton posted on Friday (June 13):

OUTRAGEOUS: AG Pam Bondi’s Justice Department convinced a federal court today that Judicial Watch somehow “waived” its request for who the Biden USAID was giving our money to in Gaza. So rather than expose what the Biden regime is hiding, they are now forcing us to file another Federal FOIA lawsuit for the basic info.

Fitton went on to say that this “shell game” by Bondi and Marco Rubio, the Secretary of State, is as bad as what was experienced under the Obama and Biden administrations.

With his post, Fitton included a reminder in video as well as text of his request earlier this year to find out the details of who got the $27 million that went to Gaza from USAID under Biden. Fitton called this conduct of Trump’s DOJ “a nightmare for transparency.”

The amount of funds provided by the Biden administration to the Palestinian regions of Gaza and the West Bank are much bigger and stand at hundreds of millions of dollars at a time. In March last year, Republican Congressman Ronny Jackson of Texas filed a first amendment lawsuit in Northern Texas against Joe Biden and his Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. The lawsuit accused the Biden administration of subsidizing terror groups like Hamas with American taxpayer money by “knowingly and unlawfully” providing as much as $1.5 billion in aid to Gaza and the West Bank, as reported in the New York Post (April 15, 2024).

Conservatives, who hoped to see transparency once Trump takes the oval office, have been mainly disappointed by the DOJ under Pam Bondi on major issues including details of foreign aid distribution. But Judicial Watch also has other complaints about Trump’s key federal agencies. In a press release on June 17, the conservative organization fighting for transparency shared how Trump’s FBI under Director Kash Patel is hiding records concerning Hunter Biden’s laptop and other acts of censorship by Twitter during the Biden administration.

Judicial Watch had filed the original lawsuit against the DOJ in April 2023 but the continued shielding of the requested information even under Trump’s DOJ and FBI has left Fitton frustrated to the point of disbelief. As cited in the PR, Fitton said:

“It is frustrating beyond belief for Judicial Watch to have to go to federal court for basic information on Biden’s abuse of the FBI, using Twitter to censor and monitor Americans.”
