Trump Says it Would Be a “Great Honor” to be Jailed Under Gag Order!

Likening himself to others who have fought and been silenced for the right of free speech, President Trump says it would be a “great honor” to go to jail for violating his ridiculous gag order.

On Saturday, the former leader of the free world said he welcomed the prospect of going to jail for violating a gag order in his upcoming New York hush money trial.

“I will gladly become a Modern Day Nelson Mandela — It will be my GREAT HONOR,” Trump wrote in a lengthy Truth Social post attacking New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan, who is presiding over Trump’s case.

It was not the first time Trump has likened himself to a martyr as he faces a flurry of criminal charges.

In an October attack on his various politically motivated lawsuits, the presumptive Republican nominee also compared himself to Mandela, the former president of South Africa who spent 27 years in prison for his anti-apartheid activism.

And last week, Trump took to Truth Social to share a message that likened his legal troubles to the persecution of Jesus Christ.

Trump’s so-called “hush money” trial will begin with jury selection in NY on April 15.

Trump has accused the presiding judge in the trial, Justice Juan Merchan, of being compromised because of his daughter’s role at a progressive consulting firm that has worked for Democrats.

Trump’s social media post on Saturday was the latest of several that he has posted about the judge’s daughter since Merchan first imposed an initial gag order at the end of March. That order prohibited Trump from making public statements about the case’s witnesses, jurors, and lawyers. He was also banned from publicly speaking about court staff, employees in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, and their family members. That first gag order came in response to Trump’s repeated calls for the judge to recuse himself.

One day after the first gag order was imposed on March 26, Trump went after Merchan’s daughter on social media.

Soon after that, Merchan granted prosecutors a request to expand the scope of the order to prohibit direct attacks on Merchan’s family members and the family of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Under the expanded order, Trump can still criticize Merchan and Bragg individually. But he is not allowed to target their families publicly.

The judge’s daughter, Loren Merchan, has a “direct financial interest” in the case because of her work at the consulting firm Authentic Campaigns for Trump foes, including Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the lead prosecutor in the former president’s first impeachment trial, Trump’s lawyers argued.

Merchan previously denied similar Trump allegations about his daughter’s job in August 2023, saying there was no evidence to “suggest that the outcome of the case could have any effect on the judge’s relative, the relative’s business, or any of their interests.”

“ridiculous gag order.” to stop a guy from verbally assaulting the daughter of a judge…..

    This shit matters, BS, *https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-election-judges-threats/#:~:text=Among%20the%2057%20federal%20prosecutions,prosecutions%20for%20threats%20against%20judges.*

Any normal person before the court would be in jail for contempt by this point. Trump is “special” due to being President, but more important, his ploy to escape justice by being a candidate for 2024. And you thought it was for the patriotism….. Here’s a buck, buy a Bible.

Can you send me 59 more of those bucks so I can by a Trump approved bible? :>)

Just look at trump’s donations. People want him back in office more than ever. So Frank is backing a retarded loser.

Dan, sorry to say but you have gobbled the Trump lie along with the hook used to serve you my dear boy. Trump has not given any money to his foundation since 2008. Consider what this article says, see *https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/trump-and-the-truth-his-charitable-giving*.

“Trump’s charitable giving has now become a campaign issue, largely due to a series of Post articles written by David Fahrenthold and his colleagues. Back in April, Fahrenthold and Rosalind S. Helderman reported that they couldn’t find a single cash donation to charity that Trump personally had made over the previous five years. The Trump campaign had provided the newspaper with a list of donations made by the candidate, but many turned out to be gifts-in-kind from Trump’s businesses, such as free rounds of golf at Trump courses donated to charity auctions, and land-conservation agreements to forgo development rights on Trump-owned properties. The only cash donations were from the Donald J. Trump Foundation, the family charity that Trump established in 1988. But the Post also pointed out that Trump hadn’t given any of his own money to the Trump Foundation since 2008—almost all of its funding came from other people, including some of his business associates.

Dan, sooner or later you are going to have to realize that everything about Trump is a scam for the purpose of building his larger than life narcissism. The next time you think something positive of Trump, check on line and most likely you will see it was a lie and the opposite is true. Frank is correct about the funding of Trumps 2016 campaign. Trump got you Dan to believe that he funded his own campaign. Technically that is correct. He did fund it for a few days. But what he actually did was “loan” his campaign $10M of which only $250,000 was his money. Once you and many others donated, he had his campaign pay him back the full $10M. Now he has gotten bolder. No longer is he hiding anything. He put family in high positions of the RNC, fired many who were not loyal to him, and has announced that the RNC will be paying his legal bills. Same with his Truth Social stock ticker symbol DJT. He is in trouble with the SEC (Security Exchange Commission) is investigating him for false statements he made about his stock which helped to drive up the stocks price. This is illegal. And two executives involved with the merger have plead guilty to insider trader charges. The stock is now tanking – and all of the one and two share purchases of MAGA people are tanking with it. And Dan T. shows how he loves a Trump lie……..

First, Trump’s donations……. from Trump’s side, his foundation was closed down years ago
after he was caught stealing from it, so that one’s out. Beyond his salary, and there’s proof he stopped donating at the end of his reign, there is no proof the Don ever donated to anyone. Certainly he did not claim it on taxes.

Second, on the campaign, from NPR, and current: “March fundraising numbers show Biden significantly outpacing Trump”

BUSTED and I think I will stay with my young man.

Now, this can change in a heartbeat, but Biden’s dinner raised 26M in small donations. Trump’s “dinner” had less than 200 huge donors and raised 50M. Biden raised 90M in small donations from his SOTU speech..

Don is selling, selling selling, Trump cartoons, Trump kicks, Trump Bibles —- yeah, Trump is selling God out, for $59.99. Biden sells ideas, hope, and a vision. I may not agree 100%, but I do agree with a lot of it. I don’t even know where Trump stands on most issues and hate the ones I do.

But if money is your metric, and it’s fair to say yes as long as we realize there are other things at play along with the money. But if money is your metric. Trump loses, and has been losing for some time. Worse yet, much of your donation go to his legal cases, some of which only measure the man, not his politics.

And Trump the man has been politically measured, his character weighed, and he comes up light every time, not IMO, but based on the facts. He is not and never will be a successful President. In economics, he’s worst than Hoover. On human rights, well, still better than Hitler, but certainly not Mandela. On jobs — Biden’s better. And so on, and so on.

I think, more important is where do their personal fortunes come from. Biden — you know. Trump’s — you don’t. But Kushner and Trump are into billions from the killer Saudi Prince. Trump’s current backers for his failed DC Hotel and his court bonds as well as Kushner for his Florida developments, are now both into Don Hankey, basically a California loan shark who touches loans, and people, when legitimate banks will not. He made the NYPost when a couple owning a restaurant got tagged with a 260%+ loan. He has been investigated, but DOJ stopped during Trump, for bad practices like calling your boss, calling you pretending to be someone else, everything short of breaking legs. Hankey says he gave Trump a low rate. I betcha he did. He also said he put up the entire 400M, but Trump waited for the appeals court to lower before accepting a mere 175M. Yeah, no pending quid pro quo there.

Meanwhile, in associated loan news, Republicans are not chasing the Trump loans for hundreds of millions from shady characters, nor the Saudi funding into Trump’s and Kushner’s International Crime Family’s businesses, but instead focusing on a truck loan from Joe to a family member. Sigh.

Oh yeah, and on the “Trump finances his own campaign” shtick. He paid himself back, probably with interest, with your donations. This time he said, “nah, why bother…..”

As an Independent / Unaffiliated voter, I think it is time we give Trump his honor. Let his new suit be orange with a membership number pasted on the back. This honor is way long overdue. It is what Trump wants and dares, and, it is what Larry Horist will write several articles about. What could possibly be better!
