Trump Derangement Syndrome is a real thing … and getting worse
Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) was originally coined as a political expression – a pejorative to describe the emotional overreaction of those on the left. The further to the left, the worse the symptoms.
TDS is not yet recognized as an official mental condition by the medical community. There are no prescribed treatments or funny named medications to mitigate or cure the problem, even though it seems to have become a malady that is afflicting an increasing number of folks on the left.
The root cause of the affliction appears to be an inability to accept the reality of Trump’s election and a historic rash-causing reaction to his policies. We see hysterical meltdowns every day on the news – especially on the most left-wing news outlets, such as MSNBC, the New York Times, the Atlantic, etc., etc., etc.
TDS appears to be a form of Tourette’s Syndrome – with Democrats and the media cronies taking up an unprecedented and unseemly level of public obscenities. Major Democrat leaders – such as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer – posted an online video with “SH*T” as the repeated headline theme. Democrat United States Senator Mark Kelly posts a video in which he called Elon Musk and “asshole.” Democrats are dropping more f-bombs than the Allies dropped on Dresden in World War II.
The spokesperson for the hard core radical left in Congress, Democrat Representative Jamie Raskin, excused the plague of profanities as an understandable extension of legitimate anger. I prefer to think of such expressions of unhinged anger as the last resort of the weak-minded who have nothing of substance to offer. Intelligent people in civil discourse do not need profanity – especially when it appears to have permeated the entire left-wing culture.
The depth of the left’s despair and depravity was personified by “Morning Joe” panelist Eddie Glaude. He confessed to having been emotionally crippled since Trump’s election win -– expressing “profound” grief over the Trump presidency. He said he has lost hope for the future of America. MSNBC’s Simone Sander–Townsend on her weekend show – was heard yelling hysterically into the cameras wondering how all that “Trump stuff” could have happened.
Most common reports on left-wing news suggest that the people – as least their people – are overcome by fear, anxiety and depression. I say “their people” since most polls show Trump holds a fairly good favorable rating (in the 48 percent range) among the American people – who currently give Democrats a favorable rating of 27 percent.
The recognition of Trump Derangement Syndrome – if not by name – has come from the professional medical community. Psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists and family doctors have been taking to the airwaves to report the emotional impact Trump is having on their patients.
Lisa Larson-Walker, a Manhattan psychologist, says she has seen a significant increase in patients experiencing anxiety related to Trump. Larson-Walker claims that one of her patients, whose family survived the holocaust, is experiencing deep fears and anxieties. She sees the current situation in America to be similar to the stories she heard from her grandparents.
Really? This unfortunate woman compares what is happening in America today with Hitler’s war and the extermination of millions of innocent Jews in concentration camps? I say this woman does have an emotional or mental problem – but Trump is not the cause. Lisa definitely needs her therapist.
Among the many individuals who have reported debilitating anxieties, stress, depression is Dorie Chamberlain, a 54-year-old mother who talks about Trump every time she sees her therapists. She describes what goes on in her head as being “like living in a house where everybody screams”— causing her severe anxiety and stress.
These examples are not outliers.
Dr. Glenn Burnett, an internist in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, says that several of his patients are experiencing severe anxiety, depression, insomnia, chest pains, and panic due to Trump’s presidency. He compares the emotional intensity to the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks. Burnett also says that the election has severed family ties and caused significant emotional distress on family members.
Yale University professor Bandy X. Lee has been outspoken about what she alleges to be the psychological impact of Trump’s rhetoric and behavior on her students. You may recall that Harvard gave students a day off after Trump was elected to cope with their snowflake responses.
Democrat politicians and left-wing media personalities are pushing the mental health issues very hard. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has repeatedly expressed her fears regarding Trump’s impact on the mental health of American citizens – especially those in what she refers to as “vulnerable communities.” (I assume she is referring to left-wing Democrats as the vulnerable community).
Among the media personalities spreading the Trump Derangement Syndrome is MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow (of course). She has devoted several segments of her evening show to reporting on the emotional toll Trump is having on the American public — often interviewing individuals suffering from TDS. CNN’s Anderson Cooper has taken a similar approach on his evening program.
It is true. Ever since Trump won the 2016 presidential election, a certain portion of the Democrat base has gone bonkers. They thought they were rid of him in 2020. When he announced his intention to run again in the 2024 election, the bonkers bunch in the Democratic Party went into panicked overdrive in their efforts to demonize Trump – doing everything they could to make Trump unelectable.
Having made Trump unelectable in their own minds, one can appreciate their crazed reaction when he won the election with improved support in every state – and most notably among Blacks, Hispanics, Arabs, women, independents and younger voters. Those are the folks Democrats and those on the radical left thought they owned.
And do not expect the Trump Derangement Syndrome to end very soon. It is more likely to get a lot worse before it gets better – especially since the left-winger media personalities are spreading faster than Typhoid Mary. Unfortunately, neither masks nor vaccines can stop the spread.

Larry, Good to hear from you after your absence, unfortunately 2 weeks of bed rest didn’t do anything for your critical thinking abilities, in fact, you seem to be a bit further out of it than normal, but at your age that is to be expected. There is no such thing as TDS, and parroting what you have heard on Faux news does not make it any more real. There are many of us (I suspect that it is likely a majority of citizens at this point), who do not like what we are seeing in the executive branch (nor in congress or the judicial for that matter). Those of us who really paid attention during 45 realized what was likely to happen when the competent personnel of his first administration were eliminated from the second (remember ‘my generals’? they attempted to keep some semblance of a respected nation in place, despite the ignorance of the President). However, those days are over, and now his cabinet consists 100% of ass lickers who will allow him to do whatever he wants, with the assistance of an obscenely rich individual who has taken it upon himself to reduce the government workforce with absolutely no understanding of what the people he is firing might actually be doing. And then of course there are the bellicose threats to our allies (haven’t heard any such talk to Russia however, have you?), threatening to take over their land, because, “Hey, I am Donald Trump and I want to”. Our credibility is in the toilet after barely two months of having this asshole in office. So, as I said at the beginning, there is no TDS, only some of us who want the US to be a nation respected by our allies, that tries to live up to the values that we have developed during the last 100 years, which we are not doing with an ignoramus sitting behind the resolute desk. There are some people however (you being a prime example) who do suffer from DDS, and have for in excess of 50 years, blaming the “D’s” for all of the failures you experienced during your lifetime….
Good to see Larry is back. His opinion about his nemesis as a group apparently has not abated by surgical procedure. His obsession with the Left aka Democrats as a whole and individually may be more rabid than before.
Since his past commentaries documented the previous administration’s actions and perceived them to be missteps and came down hard on Biden just because. It will be of interest to the objective non selective concerned American reader of PBP content. Whether or not Larry will take on the Trump 2.0 administration’s actions with the same diligence.
Time will tell through commentaries to come if Larry with continue mining the same Democrat mineral deposits he believes represent something no right in America. Which he has attempted to prove even before Trump 1.0. And, now that we are well into the first 100 days of Trump 2.0 there is ample Trump material for Larry to opine upon.
It’s this reader’s prognosis for Larry’s coming attractions that the subjects will follow the same political thought thread, stories of Democrats Larry sees in his own eyes.
One would be unreasonable to expect anything else from Mr Horist’s commentaries.
Trump’s current behavior is a manic display of excessive authority and unconstitutional executive over reach. The courts will prove the point. Even do, Trump will do as Trump does and ignore the court decisions that don’t do his way.
Continuing on the power mad bender he is on with Elon Musk and the three billionaire musketeers will do him no good and end badly and debase his party. Or his efforts will crash the American economy and trigger the Trump Economy Depression. Mr. Horist’s impression of the Democrats as ones with a psychological impairment is Jan effort to distract attention from true in fact psychological impairment that, unfortunately, has captivated the mind of Trump. Sadly, the consequences for Trump’s actions as executive will be widely felt. His promised tax cuts for the 1% and most wealthy will not be worth the cost the rest of the country will be paying far into future decades.
No one who is politically and economically sane would believe stirring up a huge nest of hornets will not result in the hornets will attack and with their stingers exact revenge especially on the one responsible for the general distress and destruction the stirring caused.
In the case of Trump vs The US Government Trump is bound to loose. He believed the government is sick. But his idea of the cure is more costly and inefficient than whatever he has been told is wrong in the U.S. Government.
To what length will WE, the people allow Trump his vindictive revenge on his enemies with the whole country paying.

Hey, as a “get well,” this story is OK. Sure, not in love with the blaming and shaming, but pretty much spot on. My only response is: they seem to be correct in their assumptions of Trump, especially Trump 2.0. Perhaps you still agree with the policies and programs but still disdain his character, which makes you in favor of disappearing innocents as gang members, disappearing others. No-knock, warrantless, arrests without habeas corpus. Chain sawing government killing whatever he can with no though of meritocracy, no thought of alternatives, as we cut foreign aid, foreign military support for Ukraine is now your thing too? Inviting and embedding journalists in top secret sessions where you out your military plans and your on-the-ground in-harms-way assets over unsecure channels in enemy places like Asia and Moscow, one member not ever remembering what country she was in. You now a tariff guy wanting to take over Canada, Greenland, GAZA, and the Panama Canal cutting up the world with Putin and Xi. Just a few of the un-American policies you are into. Policies you are not against seem to include a response plan for bird flu, a response plan for measles, a response to all those planes dropping from the skies as inflation rises, unemployment rises, and all we can except is more as our leaders tell us you have got to feel pain to feel better. Do these billionaire elites running the show feel your pain?
Although everyone says I am the TDS poster child, that’s just because they ain’t got the stones to prove me wrong —- on the facts. With that in mind, I live by what my Momma said: “son, we are too poor to be crazy, we’re just interesting” so, obviously, using TSM, Trump Scientific Method, if you don’t test it, you don’t count it, you don’t have it.
I do not like Donald Trump. I have not liked Donald Trump for a long time. First, we laughed at the clown, because he didn’t’ hurt us. They didn’t charge him a lot because he’s such a PITA to take to court. Long before his morphing into a politician, I found his ONLY redeeming characteristic to be survival. He amazingly has pulled his ass from the fire in a variety of bail outs even since he risked his own ass-ets in his first of six bankruptcies in 1991. That one hit many innocents in NJ as he stiffed anyone who didn’t have deep pockets to fight back. Over the years, to survive, I believe he has travelled ever deeper into the bowels of Hell. Ties to shady financial backers, Putin, Eragon and other black-hearted men standing against Democracy is one. Screwing NYC and NJ is another. A man seemingly without guilt, incapable of accepting responsibility or blame, compassion of a shark, thinner skin than an egg, able to hold a grudge longer than an Irishman, who hates more than he loves offers nothing for me. As much as I wish different from the man, he is not known for personal growth.
Some say I suffer from TDS; I suffer from Trump and no one has proved to-date that I am deranged. It does not keep me up at night, it does not consume my day. I make as much under Trump as Biden, does not affect my bottom line, yet. I say I am spot on about Trump and, most often, have provided direct evidence to that. And the pushback is mostly personal, not a professional debate on the facts.
My latest sorrow: somehow, in America, we are no-knock, no–warrant disappearing innocents to a third-world gulag run by an evil dictator where they will probably never get out of……..alive. The funny, in a sick way, part is Trump’s people are either so fucking stupid, arrogant, or both so they like to take pictures of the evil both for they own pride and their prejudice hoping if they show how evil they are, others will be frightened. HSS Krisit Noem, who learned absolutely nothing from 1/6/2021, made her propaganda films from her gulag in El Salvador to frighten the small children. The idiot forgot to fuzz out the faces, the tats, and now we have pretty damn strong evidence of innocents, not gang members, being disappeared, reappearing hopefully one more time before release. Hopefully, if Trump or Noem have hearts. But they don’t and they can’t admit they were wrong so these innocents will DIE. One was a man with a rainbow ribbon-shaped tat with a peaceful wording. Gang member? Another was a gay make-up artist —- gang member? Maybe they can be Mush to admit “we do make mistakes but we fix them fast.” Still waiting as are the parents and friends. Signal-gate is nothing compared to this. In Signal-gate only one, or a small number, of in-country, on-the-ground assets were confirmed and put in harms way, if not dead by Houthi already. In deportation-gate, hundreds of innocents are missing. We are still unable to put kids back to families from Trump 1.0.

There may be hundreds of these stories coming. About 30% of the separated children, 1,436 identified, have yet to be reunited with family from Trump 1.0 evil. Now he’s doing even worse to adults.
So, you can assuage your guilt over what your policies have done by saying I suffer TDS; I say only a Godless un-American POS would think this is OK. But sure, I am deranged and I’m not afraid of burning in Trump hell for it.
