The greatness of Biden is political malarky

You must give Democrats credit for peddling the most absurd hyper-hyperbolic campaign narratives as a means of gaslighting the American people with spin and fearmongering. They follow the Joseph Goebbels school of propaganda. The bigger the lie, the more it will be believed – especially if you repeat it over and over.

That strategy is seen with the bogus claims that the riot on Capitol Hill was an insurrection … an attempted coup … a planned overthrow of the government. They take their hyperbole into hyperspace with claims that the election of President Trump will literally end the American Democracy. And lately, they claim that the election of Trump will destroy the world.

They have taken the fact the earth is warming (and yes, it is) – and that is the fault of human activity – as some Draconian situation that will literally wipe humans off the face of the earth. This despite the fact that their short-term ominous predictions have not come to pass. They use weather cycles – such as this year’s high temperatures – as evidence. (Incidentally, the Global Historical Climatology Network’s list of the top ten hottest Junes does not even include 2024. The hottest was 1933. If you are interested, the other nine in order of severity are 1934,1911, 2021, 1951, 2021, 1931, 2016, 1918 and 1936.)

These claims are always expressed as a certainty – as settled issues. To disagree is to be – as they say – stupid. Some sort of social or political moron.

One of the latest nonsense narratives is the greatness of President Biden. Political partisans and sycophants talk of the greatness of President Biden and his presidency as if it is a fact. And they say it with a straight face.

They say he is one of the greatest presidents in American history – standing with (or even above) George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. They say he has had the most successful four years in office of any of his predecessors.

Democrats and the left-wing media are campaigning for the gullible vote. It is hard to imagine that any thinking American would not see the malarky for what it is. And apparently, they do see it for what it is. You just cannot fool all the people all the time.

So … what do the people think of history’s greatest president? His favorability rating among the people is around 36 percent – among the LOWEST in history. More than two-thirds of the people believe the nation under Biden’s leadership is going in the wrong direction. Most people say they were better off under Trump than they have been under Biden. Virtually every poll shows that most people trust Trump more than Biden to handle the economy, inflation, immigration, crime and foreign affairs. Despite Democrats’ hyperbolic claims, Trump is seen as much a protector of democracy as Biden – although Biden does have a small edge on that issue.

Biden is seen as incompetent in handling the surrender in Afghanistan … managing the Hamas War … and his too little/too late support for Ukraine. His weakness has set off a range of aggressive activities by the enemies of the United States.

Two thirds of Americans believe that Biden is too old to be president. They think he should withdraw – including 54 percent of Democrat voters. And … at this moment, he is losing the election to a man Biden & Co. hyperbolically claims to be … channeling Adolph Hiter … is the antichrist … and is an acolyte of Satan.

They tout Biden’s accomplishments as if they are akin to victory in the War of 1812 …the acquisition of the Louisiana Territory … the constitutional amendments and legislation that ended slavery … winning World War I and World War II … the civil rights legislation of the 1960s … ending the Cold War (as opposed to getting us into new ones).

And what about Nixon’s one term? Extended the voting age to 18-year-olds … passed the affirmative action legislation … ended the war in Vietnam … established diplomatic relations with China …. strong economy (no inflation) … the Equal Employment Opportunity Act … Executive Order 11458 establishing the Office of Minority Business Enterprise. All big effing deals – to borrow Biden’s terminology.

The Biden legislation – the hallmark of his alleged greatness – is not historically notable other than it has been much more expensive than most — significantly contributing to the inflation he claimed would never come. Whatever one may think of the “chips bill,” the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act, or the Infrastructure Act, they lack the gravitas to be remembered among the historic list of presidential achievements.

Biden is not even close to greatness in the pantheon of truly great and accomplished presidents. Whether he gets a second term or not, Biden will eventually fade in the shadow of history – joining the likes of Martin Van Buren, John Tyler, Millard Fillmore and James Buchanan in the Club of Forgotten Presidents. No amount of contemporary malarky-based campaign hype will change that.

So, there ‘tis.
