The cancer of terrorism metastasizes from Iran
There can be no doubt that Iran is using its wealth to fund terrorism all over the world. It is using its power to remain inside the halls of diplomacy – as if it is not a rogue regime. AND … it has been tragically successful.
The Biden admiration knows what Iran is – or at least it should. There is, however, a reluctance to call out the folks in Tehran for what they are – blood-thirsty, barbaric sociopaths hellbent on wiping Israel off the map … exterminating Jews … and taking down the western democracies as havens of infidels.
That is not a matter of opinion, theory or speculation. It is a fact. We see it in what they say – and what they do. The mantra is “death to Jews” … “death or Israel” … “death to America” … “death to France” … and on and on. They openly call for a jihad and intifada against the western world. It is inscribed in their national documents and the manifestos of the terrorist operations Iran funds.
Iran has long been regarded as the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism.
And yet. Iran is able to maintain “normal” allied relationships with several nations of the world – such as Russia, China and North Korea. They also have diplomatic relationships with many other nations. Most recently, Saudi Arabia, Iran’s strongest adversary in the Middle East has signed an agreement that establishes an official diplomatic relationship.
The United States has been the leader in fighting world terrorism. It has taken the battle from one region to another – fighting against one terrorist organization after another. But the fight against terrorism seems to end at the Iranian border. It would be like fighting Hitler up to the German national boundary.
Instead of addressing the source of the problem, western – and American – policy seems to be to cut off the tentacles of terrorism that can easily regenerate. It is impossible to end world terrorism if you do not decapitate the head – and that clearly is the current regime in Iran.
The recent attack on Israel is just the latest example of not dealing with the Iran problem. In what can only be described as diplomatic double-talk, we are told that Iran has funded Hamas for years. Iran is the source of the money, the weapons and the training that resulted in the attack on Israel – and yet we are told by the White House that there is no smoking gun.
That is not true, and President Biden most surely knows it. So why give Iran a pass? Why have we been offering Iran billions of dollars –more than $6 billion currently in Qatar banks? That money has been temporarily frozen under pressure on the White House. Why have we been trying to get back into the flawed Iran Nuclear Deal – negotiating with a regime that will not keep its word nor lose its lust to bringing death to America.
Iran’s death wishes are not idle threats or political red meat for domestic consumption. We know they mean it because they act on it. Just review the thousands of acts of deadly terrorism against Israel, the United States, Europe and within the Middle East.
Iran is not an adversary of the United States. It is a mortal enemy – pledged to America’s downfall.
The problem is not new, but the Biden administration is in charge now – and it is the policies and actions of the Biden administration that count. In terms of Iran, Biden is projecting weakness. He did not even mention the essential role of Iran in the attack on Israel. In fact, he offered the false claim that there is no smoking gun. For God’s sake, there is a battery of smoking guns – all with Tehran’s fingerprints on the triggers.
The policy of the United States should be international isolation of the regime in Tehran through meaningful sanctions on Iran and those who deal or trade with Iran. We should freeze every financial asset possible – and seize as much of Iran’s international properties as possible. We, and NATO nations, should interdict the transfer of money and the transportation of weapons even if that means seizing or destroying the vehicles carrying the cargo. The United State should authorize or participate in the destruction of Iran’s nuclear weapons program. We should use our intelligence agencies to foment a public uprising from within iran. The regime is not popular with the people.
Only the United States has the power and the moral authority to organize and lead a world effort to bring down the regime in Tehran. I think it is safe to say that there can be no peace in the Middle East or throughout the world – no elimination of brutal and barbaric terrorism — without a change in Tehran. Does anyone really disagree with that last statement?
So, there ‘tis.
Electing Muslims to congress doesn’t help either. It’s obvious that the squad cares nothing about the country
I agree with you Larry. Now if we want to talk stupidity (like the previous blog) we have Persians (Iran) whipping up Arabs into a frenzied rant to go against Israel while all of the time, Iran is the one that gains strength through it, not Arabs, not Palestinians. Now that’s Arab stupidity that gets a lot of people killed and creates tremendous world instability that affects us all in multiple ways.
The conflict is as old as Father Isaac, and his two sons, Jacob and Esau, and as recent as the end of WW1and the League of Nations land map redrawing, and Britain’s failure to properly administer the region from 1918 to 1948 when they just up and left it.. Hamas and Hezbollah are terrorist organizations under the control of Iran and serving up hate burgers wherever they go.
Yes, the USA should lead a UN effort against Iran. The problem is people like to be warm in winter and what makes them warm is oil which is now traded and used as an alternative currency. But while we blame Iran for much of it, we need to also discuss China which has several agreements with Iran and will not denounce Iran’s terrorism efforts while at the same time calling the USA as the antagonist. While China has not had a terror attack on its real estate since 2017, it surely has supported countries and organizations willing to attack the US and its allies.
Larry, you seem to have a very hawkish attitude towards Iran while Biden is a dove. Only history will be able to reveal which might have been the better approach. Biden is trying to avoid WW3 which the current Middle East situation could easily become. Biden does need to call Iran out publicly as well as implement meaningful sanctions to isolate Iran. But the best thing he could do is to increase our domestic energy output. It is hard to be tough when you rely on the bully.
” I think it is safe to say that there can be no peace in the Middle East or throughout the world – no elimination of brutal and barbaric terrorism — without a change in Tehran. ” I do not disagree with that Statement. Some notes:
1. This would be much easier to rationalize if the nuclear deal was still on. We gained little by unilaterally abandoning it.
2. Even though we might link past deeds, a smoking gun for the current Israeli war would be good. Especially since there may be Russian monetary, weapons, or other support involved.
3. Might be nice to have a recovery plan this time to avoid being in a police state mode for decades.
Maybe Biden can come up with a Build Back Better plan for Gaza?
If folks in Gaza were smart they would do like Sweden. Sweden requires all commercial buildings to have a bomb shelter below. If they can’t find peace at least they can make the area more death proof when the missiles and bombs fall. This would also be a great little niche market for shelf store-able food.
Tom … That would not happen with Hamas in charge, All the resources that could have been used to support and defend the people were reallocated to Hamas’ myopic view of destroying Israel and killing jews — even to the detriment of the Palestinian people. For Hamas, dead and suffering Palestinians is part of their public relations strategy. They cold heartedly make sure innocent civilian casualties will be maximized — not minimized.
Too soon eh Tom….
Fact is until Palestinians either have their own country or equal rights with Israelis, discord will continue, probably violent at times.
Apartheid rarely works except under a police state.
First, justice for Hamas, then perhaps another shot at Israel/Palestine peace.
Frank Stetson … There will be no home for Palestinians as long as they are ruled over and support Hamas and Iran. The official charter of the Hamas government in Gaza is the elimination of Israel and the murder of all jews. Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorists groups have that one mission. As Golda Meir said, “You cannot negotiate with people who want to kill you.” Israel is a civilized victim of Islamic terrorism for generations … period. And so is America.
Nuke the rag heads
Larry!
NOBODY HAS USED TERRORISM AS MUCH AND AS OFTEN AS THE UNITED STATES
WITH ALL ITS PROXIES, SECRET AGENCIES AND ACTIONS!
