Progressivism has gone pandemic
Fear is the essential emotion that drives political progressivism – and the only mitigator is the federal government. In their view, it is our protector from everything we dread – including financial setbacks, hurt feelings, sickness and even death. We are led to believe that all our fears can be mitigated only by a Big Brother in Washington masqueraded as Uncle Sam.
It is the reason why former Obama Chief-of-Staff Rahm Emmanuel alluded to the importance of liberal fearmongers when he said, “Never waste a good crisis.” It is painfully obvious that the political left is using the Coronavirus outbreak to advance their big government cause.
In promoting and spinning the crisis, the left sees a number of opportunities. First and foremost is to take down President Trump – and with him the conservative backbone of the Republican Party. They admit as much.
In a recent MSNBC “Morning Joe,” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski upped their regular diatribes against Trump with the help of such Trump-hating panelists as pandering sidekick Willie Geist, AP’s Democrat propaganda-journalist Jonathan Lemire, and stridently partisan historian Jon Meacham. Guests included New York’s blowhard left-wing Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The unifying theme of the show was that the federal government (meaning Trump) was not doing enough to save the people. De Blasio blamed the problem on Republicans for not being Big Brother acolytes – not believing that the federal government should be our savior.
De Blasio blasted Trump for every aspect of the spread of the Coronavirus – even to the point that his policies have and will result in the needless deaths of thousands of people. He paints a darkest future. There will not be enough respirators. Not enough gloves. Not enough protective wear. Not enough testing kits. And it is ALL the federal government’s – Trump’s– fault.
If we are inadequately prepared for the massive need, who is really at fault. For the most part, public safety and health is a local issue – also a state issue. It is their responsibility to provide for emergencies. Uncle Sam is supposed to be the resource of last resort – not the first and only. So why is New York so lacking in medical facilities, equipment and emergency strategies?
De Blasio and other Democrats point to businesses ready to produce the needed equipment and supplies and complain that Trump is not buying them – although the federal government is making such purchases. The better question is why de Blasio, other mayors and governors are not buying them – as was the normal practice.
It would seem that those with the greatest responsibility would be the most criticized in all of this. But noooo. It is the federal government that failed. That is progressive propaganda. It is the old progressive issue of creating fear and then looking to Washington as the sole source of salvation – looking to that elitist culture that permeates the political establishment. More power for the folks in Washington.
Virtually everyone who appears in the mainstream media admonishes us to not politicize the coronavirus crisis. That includes the anchors, the panelists, the doctors and the politicians. We are supposed to come together as a nation and meet the challenge without partisan pandering.
In recent days, President Trump has been remarkably temperate in any partisan criticism. Yes, he has pushed back on a couple of Democrat politicians who have been on a roll in criticizing his actions. But nothing compared to the unrelenting prosecutorial-style attacks that are being carried out under the banner of “news.”
MSNBC has been the worst of a very bad cabal of east coast journalists – and Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski have been the most contemptible of the daily MSNBC line-up. They not only spin their mendacious narratives – they lie.
Following the Thursday White House briefing, MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell created a false schism between Trump and Task Force member Dr. Anthony Fauci. She said that Fauci called for the need to continue testing on a current drug that is hoped to aid Coronavirus patients. Mitchell contrasted that with what she described as Trump’s promise to have the drug “immediately.” She lied. Trump never said that – and I watched the entire briefing. Trump said that he was hopeful it would work and we will “have to wait and see.”
In a portion of Fauci’s comment that was edited out, the doctor said there was not really any separation between him and Trump. He, Fauci, was also hopeful it will work – even suggested it probably is safe to use. In other words, MSNBC presented a completely false report on the facts.
What is happening on the left is not just about the pandemic. In fact, it is more about empowering the big government progressive philosophy – a philosophy that believes public policy is best made by a cabal of self-appointed noble elitists. Not only is it a usurpation of rights and powers from states and cities, but the denial of the inalienable constitutional rights and powers of we the people.
The Coronavirus will eventually go away, but the deadly disease of progressivism may have further infected the body politic well into the future. Progressivism– in all its authoritarian forms — has a civic death rate among free nations of one hundred percent.
So, there ‘tis.
Fact, when it comes to data dissemination it is always deceit vomited from the mouths of Bobbleheads or possibly Marionettes promoting what promotes the interests of Globalists and their lieutenant politicians, here in the United States those who have the most to gain at least for 2 or 3 decades from a NWO/OWO that party is the Democratic party.
If we do not soon return our society to one where the people adhere to and embrace the principles of which fair and just laws are practiced we will all be enslaved under the most wealthy who adhere to and embrace the principles of which Communistcapitalistshariazionhasidism are based, if people thought the all for me and none for you mindset existed among the most wealthy before they have not yet experienced true misery.
